Psa 22:6 But I am a worm/tola H8438, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
Just thought of sharing why Yahusha calls himself worm/tola and no man here.
The above is the picture of a Kermes vermilio a worm which breeds on the Kermes oak. The word Crimson comes from the word ‘Kermes’. This is a scarlet worm and the reason it was called that was because it had the ability to secrete a scarlet fluid which was used in making the scarlet dye that they used in ancient days. As a matter of fact, when you find the word "scarlet" in the bible, it's the same word. "Though your sins be as scarlet," it's the same word exactly.
Isa 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” says יהוה. “Though your sins are like scarlet/shanay H8144, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson/tola H8438, they shall be as wool.
Exo 26:31 “And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and crimson/ tola H8438 scarlet/shanay H8144 material, and fine woven linen, the work of a skilled workman, made with keruḇim.
This word ‘tola’ is the worm which you see above in the picture. The ‘tola shanay’ was in every beautiful garment in the tabernacle, the curtains, veil, garments, ephod etc.
When the mother worm was ready to give birth to the baby worms, she would find the trunk of a tree, a post or a stick somewhere and then she would plant her body in that wood and she would implant her body so firmly in it that she could never leave it again. And then the young would be brought forth and the mother's body would provide protection for the babies as long as they needed before they could get out and take care of themselves. Then the mother would die, and in the process, the scarlet fluid would stain her body and the body of the young and the tree. Yahusha clung to the piece of wood called the tree and shed his precious blood which is like the deep red dye produced from this ‘tola’ which was used in the curtains, garments, veil etc of the tabernacle.
The Kermes Oak was historically important as the food plant of the Kermes vermilio insect from which a red dye was obtained and used toward the end of the second Holy Temple (70 CE). The color red, translated as 'scarlet,' or 'crimson,' in Hebrew is usually referred to as 'shanay' or more fully as 'tolaat shanay or karmayal.' In Chronicles, the color is referred to as karmayal and the origin of the word ‘kermes’ is from ‘karmayal’ : "with purple and blue and crimson yarn"
2Ch 3:14 And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson/karmayal H3758 and fine linen, and worked keruḇim on it.
Exo 28:6 and shall make the ephod of gold, of blue and purple and scarlet material/tola shanay, and fine woven linen, the work of a skilled workman
A scarlet robe was in mockery placed on our Adonay Yahusha
Mat 27:28 And having stripped Him, they put a scarlet/shanay robe on Him.
`The above is the picture of the extract of that worm, the actual red dye which was in the curtains, veil, ephod etc.
Mashiyach prophetically tells us he is the ‘’anakay tolat’’ ( I am a worm). The ‘’kermes vermilio’’ has to die in order to be of any use to humans. The crimson color cannot be extracted without the death of the worm.
The worm that clung to the tree to give us the remission of sins
Here is a kermes oak tree with the permanent red stain left by the kermes worm.
