Exposition on Psalms 46:1

Psa 46:1 To the chief Musician/natsach H5329 for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth/ alamuth H5961.

Natsach: Nats: Sparks/Blossom nach: guide Tsach: Desert

Natsach means ‘The one who guides the blossom through the desert’

Alamoth: Ayl/rise or ascend muth: death

Alamoth means ‘Rising up in death’

In the titles of Psalm study I did I had shared on the words Nastach which means chief musician/overseer and we had seen the Asaph was appointed as the overseer and Daud/David handed over the Psalms into his hand

1Ch 16:7 And on that day Dawiḏ first gave thanks to יהוה by the hand of Asaph and his brothers:

With this background we read Psalms 46:1 Alahym is our refuge/machasah H4268 and strength/auz H5797, a very/maud H3966 present/matsa H4672 help/ayzrath H5833 in trouble/tsarah H6869.

Machasah H4268: translated as refuge

Machasah shows the striking into the marrow/mach of the one who supports/chas us as the lamb/sah

Act 8:32 And the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, “He was led as a sheep to slaughter, and like a lamb silent before its shearer, so He opened not His mouth.

Act 8:33 “In His humiliation He was deprived of right-ruling. And who shall declare His generation?

Auz H5797: translated as strength

Ayin is the eye which sees the uau/nail cutting off/ zayin

Alahym is our sah/lamb who was striken into the marrow and the one who supports us, he gives us the eye which sees the nail cutting him off and this is the rising/ayl in death/muth (alamoth).

Maud H3966: translated as ‘very’

‘maud’ has the root words ‘’ad’’ which means an abundance of ash from a fire and ‘’aud’’ means ‘’charcoal’’ which shows the abundant remains of charred wood from a fire causing a cloud of ash rising up. It’s a picture of the burnt offering ascending up

Matsa H4672: Find/Present/Meet/Reach

Matsa has the root word ‘mats’ which has the ‘mem’ which means water, ‘mem’ also means blood and ‘tsad’ which means side. It’s a picture of water and blood flowing from the side of Mashiyach when he was pierced.

While AHLB says ‘’tsa’’ means issue or excrement, the former shows the issue of blood and water coming out from Mashiyach side. You may check Strongs H4161 motsa which means ‘proceeded forth/going out’

1Jn 5:6 This is the One that came by water and blood: יהושע Messiah, not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is the Truth.

Ayzrah H5833: help

‘’Rah’’ means to flow

Ayin/See the cut off/zayin from whom is flowing/rah…what is flowing from him? ‘Water and blood’ to cause us to be cleansed and that is what ‘Help’ means.

Tsarah H6869 : trouble

And it has the root word ‘rah’ which we saw earlier which means ‘flow’. The picture is of him being crushed for our iniquities to end the enmity/tsar in his flesh and by his death with the flowing of water and blood he satisfied the requirement of ending that enmity.

Eph 2:15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity – the Torah of the commands in dogma – so as to create in Himself one renewed man from the two, thus making peace,

Eph 2:16 and to completely restore to favour both of them unto Elohim in one body through the stake, having destroyed the enmity by it.

This is how we see spiritually Alahym as our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble and he is Yahusha ha Mashiyach.
