Male and Female are generic terms used even for animals but when we relate it to man and his wife an amazing mystery unfolds which I have tried to jot down in this short note.
Gen1:26 Then Elohim said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
Gen1:27 And Elohim created man in His own image, in the
image of Elohim He created him; male and female He created them.
Male: The Hebrew word is ‘zakar’ זכר which also means ‘Remembrance/Memorial’
Female: The Hebrew word
is ‘naqabah’ נקבה which
broken down into has the root words ‘naqab’ נקב which means ‘pierced’, ‘bah’ בה which is an empty container and is a root word in ‘bohu’ which
means void, ‘nab’ נב which
means ‘prophecy’ & ‘qab’ קב a
measure of capacity.
While the words are
generic and even used for the animal kind, however, its usage for man and his
woman is unique and significant because the woman was taken out of the man’s
side and the flesh closed up. Hence, the woman is covered and counted in her
man.
Shaul the emissary ties
this to the gadol (great) mystery of Mashiyach and his bride in Eph 5:30-32 as
we are of His flesh and His bones.
“Let US” “Our image’’
& “Our Likeness is Yahuah in Himself showing the counsel of His will in showing
that He is ‘echad’ in the image He came into from invisibility and then made
the man in His image and likeness.
Col1:15 He is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn
of all creation.
Image: tsalam צלם has the
root word ‘tsal’ צל which
means ‘shadow’
Likeness: damuth דמות has the root words ‘dam’ דם which means ‘blood’ and ‘muth’ מות which means death.
Hence, man was made in
the shadow/type of blood likeness death of Mashiyach as He is the ‘tsalam/image’
of the invisible Aluahym. Rom 5:14 says that Adam was a type of Him (Mashiyach)
who was to come. Hence, Adam held in himself the earthy pattern which made way
to the heavenly pattern. Since, the woman is from the man, the image and blood
likeness is the same as the man and is bearing the same typology. The only
thing required of her is that each time she appears in the Creators presence
she had to bear the headship of her husband over her head as she was taken out from
the man termed as Adam. Yahusha is termed as the ‘last Adam’ who is the life
giving Ruach in 1Cor15:45 and hence, we are under the headship of our husband
and maker Yahusha ha Mashiyach.
He is before all things
and by Him all things consists. Scripture renders him as ‘first-born over-all
creation’, ‘beginning of creation of Aluahym’, ‘first fruits’, as He falls in
line as the ‘Alaph’ i.e., the first in order and He is the ‘last Adam’ the last
in order from the sense of transitioning the earthly pattern into Himself by
making the man and the woman whole in Him. Hence, He is termed as the Alaph
Tau, Rishon Acharon (First and the Last). If you don’t see this, you will never
understand why Yahuah called himself as the ‘First and the Last’
Isa44:6 Thus says Yahuah, the King of Yisra’El and his
Redeemer, Yahuah of hosts: I am the first/rishon and I am the last/acharon, and
there is no Elohim besides Me.
Now when we look at the terms ‘Male & Female’ in Hebrew
we can see that the zakar/male זכרis
the one to be remembered (as zakar also means remember/memorial) by His female/naqabah
נקבה who was
pierced/naqab נקב , where she finds her space
in bah/בה (an empty container) from where she was taken in a measure of
capacity/qab קב concealed in prophecy/nab.
Gen5:1 This is the scroll of the generations of Adam. In the
day that Elohim created man, He made him in the likeness of Elohim
Gen5:2 He created them male/zakar זכר and female/naqabah נקבה, and He blessed them and
called their name ADAM in the day when they were created.
Genesis 5 shows us the scroll of generations of Adam, the
beginning of the book or record showing us that Yahuah recorded by decree the counsel
of His will of placing the spiritual man/heavenly man pattern in the physical
and named them ADAM. Hence, the physical has to make way to the heavenly.
Gen 5:3 When Adam had lived one hundred and thirty years, he
fathered a son in his own likeness/damuth דמות ,
according to his image/tsalam צלם, and named his name Seth.
Gen5:4 Then the days of Adam after he fathered Seth were
eight hundred years, and he fathered sons and daughters.
While Adam fathered sons
and daughters and so did the other descendants where the sons and daughters didn’t
find their way or names into the scroll of generations, the scroll of
generations records ‘Seth’ to be in his own ‘blood likeness’ and ‘shadow’. A
record made of the elect man in the book of life. The name ‘Seth’ means ‘compensated/substituted’.
While traditionalists would see this as substituted for Abel who was killed by
Qayin, the ‘scroll of generations’ records it as he is the one who continues
the typology that Adam himself bore as the type of Him who was to come.
Jude1:14 It was also about these men that Chanok (Enoch) in
the seventh generation from Adam, prophesied of them, saying, Behold, Yahuah came
with His myriads of His set apart ones,
The 7 are the 7,000 years which is the Day of Rest where the
complete transition takes place in Mashiyach. Not all transition, only those in
the scroll of the generations who carry on the typology.
Adam: Red/Ruddy
Abel: we will skip him as he was killed though he bore the
typology, but he had no successor to carry on the typology
Seth: substituted
Enosh: mortal man
Qeynan: possession
Mahalal’El: praise of EL
Yared: descent
Chanok: dedicated
Chanok the 7th from Adam prophesied of the coming
of Yahusha
Red (water and blood)-substitute -mortal man-possessing the
praise of Aluahym-in a descent to dedicate.
The first 7 names show us the coming of Mashiyach through
the scroll of generations.
Luke 3:37 the son of Methushelach, the son of Chanok, the
son of Yered, the son of Mahalal’El, the son of Qeynan,
Luke3:38 the son of Enosh, the son of Sheth, the son of
Adam, the son of Elohim.
The genealogy to Mashiyach are the ones who bore His image
and likeness held in mortality.
Adam is actually not a name and Adam means ‘Red’. The reason
Adam was nameless is because he finds his pattern ending/completed in
Mashiyach. Adam is a generic term used for ‘mankind’, ‘man and woman together’,
ruby (red in colour) and makes way for Mashiyach.
The eighth was ‘Methuselah’ מתושלחwhose name has two root words ‘mortal/math’מת and ‘shalach/sent’ שלח .
Number eight in scripture is tied to ‘shemen/oil’ שמנand his name shows that mortality
will be sent away-swallowed up by life and he died just before the flood. Just
as the worlds which were destroyed by the floods, Kepha says the present earth
and the heavens are reserved to be destroyed by fire. We will find favour in
Mashiyach and hence, we conclude with
Red (water and blood)-substitute -mortal man-possessing the
praise of Aluahym-in a descent to dedicate-sends away mortality.
2Tim1:10 but now has been revealed by the appearing of our
Savior Yahusha the Mashiyach, who abolished death and brought life which is not
corruptibility to light through the good news.
Everything now is held in the container i.e. our bodies where
our pierced One dwells transitioning us through His Ruach of prophesy into a
full measure. And that is ‘NAQABAH’ translated as ‘FEMALE’.
