Shabbat Shabbaton

                                                     Shabatton                       Shabbat

Shabbat: Shin (Consume/Press in) Bet (house) Tau (Covenant): The  consummation of the covenant of the house.

Shabbaton: Shin (Consume/Press in) Bet (house) Tau (Covenant) Uau (secured) Nun (life): The consummation of the covenant of the house secured by life.

Lev 16:31 It is a Shabbat Shabbaton solemn you, that you may humble your souls; it is an eternal statute.

Lev 16:31 It is the consummation of the covenant of the house, the consummation of the covenant of the house secured by life (Shabbat Shabbaton) and solemn to you, that you may humble your souls; it is an eternal statute.

Gen 2:3 Then Aluahym blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested (Shabbath) all His work which Aluahym had created and made.

Gen 2:3 Then Alahim blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He consummed the covenant of the house into all His work which Aluahym had created and made.

We know that Alahim created all of creation in 6 days and on the 7th day he consummed the covenant of the house into all his work which he created and made.

This consumming of the Covenant of the house into all his work can be seen in the ‘Alaph Thu’ which is the mark of Yahusha which is found before the heavens and the earth when he created them.

Gen1:1 In the beginning Aluahym created the Alaph Thu heavens and Alaph Thu the earth.

The consummation of the covenant of the house was on the 7th day when he rested from all his works which he completed in 6 days thus giving creation a hope of the rest in him through Mashiyach Yahusha. In the study Alaph Thuu-The mark of Yahusha we saw the usage of the word ‘owth’ which is the Alaph Uau Thu which is the connector to the previous Alaph Thu and shows the spiritual in the physical ordinance.

Ex31:16 So the sons of Yisrael shall keep the Alaph Thu Shabbat, to celebrate the Alaph Thu Shabbat throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

Ex31:17 It is a Alaph Uau Thu (sign: Hebrew word 'owth') between Me and the sons of Yisrael forever; for in six days Yahuah made heaven and earth, but on the seventh day He ceased and was refreshed.

The Alaph Uau Thu is a connector to the previous Alaph Thu used in the verse before Shabbat and shows that the physical sign was pointing to the spiritual rest that we would enter when the Messiah would come.

There is a deep spiritual meaning here. Aluahym saw Alaph Thu all that he made and it was VERY GOOD

Gen 1:31 Alauhym saw Alaph Thu all that He had made, and behold, it was very (mod) good (tob). And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

Hebrew word translated as 'Very' in English is 'Mod': Mem (mighty) Alaph (leader) Dalet (doorway): Mighty Leader on the doorway

Hebrew word translated as 'Good' in English is 'Tob': Thet (surround) Uau (secure) Bet (house): surround and secure the house

The words ‘very good’ in Paleo Hebrew show a deep spiritual meaning. ON THE 6TH DAY Aluahym saw Alaph Thu (first and the last) all that he made and BEHOLD ‘the mighty leader (referring to Messiah) was standing on the doorway surrounding and securing the house he made’

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter into rest, just as He has said, As I swore in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest, although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Heb4:4 For He has spoke somewhere concerning the seventh day on this wise: And Aluahym rested on the seventh day from all His works;

Speaking of his rest which we enter into the writer of Hebrews says Aulahym finished his works from the foundation of the world. In Gen 1:31 we see a picture of Aluahym who has completed all his works of creating the heavens and the earth in 6 days and he sees the Messiah standing of the doorway of his creation surrounding and securing the house he made and he RESTED from all his works.

Col 1:16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things have been created through Him and for Him.Col 1:17 He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

1Cor8:6 but to us there is but one AL, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Master, Yahusha the Mashiyach, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.

James the emissary (apostle) speaks of the raising up of the tabernacle of Daud (David) which was fallen down and speaks of Gentiles coming into the faith upon whom his name is called and then goes on to say “ Known unto Aluahym are all his works from the beginning of the world”

Acts15:18 Known unto Aluahym are all his works from the beginning of the world

This all ties up so beautifully. We saw the nail in the name of Daud (David) ‘Dalet Uau Dalet’ (Doorway nailed to the Doorway). Heavens doorway nailed to the earthly doorway and only those having spiritual eyes can see Messiah standing, securing and surrounding the house.

Heb 8:2 a minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle, which the Master pitched, not man.

So we see the Shabbath Shabbaton according to Lev 16:31 would be solemn to us that we may humble our souls and this would be a perpetual statue throughout all generations. The physical rest on the 7th day was a ‘owth’ (Sign: Alpeh Uau Tau) of the Alaph Thu Shabbath i.e. the covenant of the house being consummed. We are yet to enter into the Shabbaton which is the consummation of the covenant of the house secured by Mashiyach's life.

Heb 4:8 For if Yahusha (Joshua) had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. Heb4:9 There remains therefore a Shabbat rest for the people of Aluahym.

The ‘Shabbath Shabbaton’ in the Thurah of Aluahym is the hope of all people of Aluahym because as long as we are in the doorway of the earthly tent we look to enter into the doorway of the heavenly where we see our Mashiyach standing, securing and surrounding all the works of Aluahym.

Ex 20:10 but the seventh day is a Shabbat of Yahuah your AL; in it you shall not do any work, you or your son or your daughter, your male servant or your female servant or your cattle or your sojourner who is within your gates.

Ex20:11 For in six days Yahuah made the Alaph Thu heavens and the Alaph Thu earth, Alaph Thu the sea and Alaph Thu all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore Yahuah blessed the Shabbat Alaph Thu day and made it set apart (qodesh).

So far we learnt the meaning of Shabbat: Shabbat in Hebrew comprises of letters Shin (Press) Bet (House) Tau (Covenant)

Put together ‘Consummation of the House Covenant’

Let’s see the breakup of the word Shabbat:

The vowel points added to the words by Masoretes make the same words sound differently and mean differently but the letters used are the same. Hence there are many variations to the same word.

Shab: (Verb) Means Return

This verb is derived from the parent root

. The first letter is the (shin - Sh) a picture of the teeth meaning to press. The second letter, (beyt - B) is the picture of the tent or home. Combined, these two letters form the word Shab representing a pressing to the tent and means to return.

Bath: Bet (House) Thu (Covenant) means ‘Daughter’

Ge 11:29 And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's wife, Milcah, the daughter (Bath) of Haran, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.
Shabbat put together is ‘Return O Daughter’

Bath: Bet (house) Thu (Covenant) also is a Hebrew Measure’

1Ki 7:26 And it was an hand breadth thick, and the brim thereof was wrought like the brim of a cup, with flowers of lilies: it contained two thousand BATH (Bet Thu)

Eze 45:11 The Ephah and the bath shall be of one measure, that the bath may contain the tenth part of an homer, and the Ephah the tenth part of an homer: the measure thereof shall be after the homer.
The Bath is equal to Ephah which was used in sin offering. The context of Ezekiel is to have a just Ephah and a just Bath in measuring justice.

Hence Shabbat means ‘Returned Measure’. It is what Yahuah gives us as just measure to save us in Yahusha and what we give in return to him in obeying him.

The verb SHAB is also rooted in the Hebrew word ‘Shabay’ Shin Bet Ayin which means ‘To swear’

Bath means ‘daughter’. Hence the words ‘Shaba Bath’ (from where the word ‘Shabbat’ is rooted) put together means ‘Swear to daughter’

Reverse of Shaba bath is ‘BathShaba’

The name ‘BathShaba’ means ‘Daughter of Oath’

Shelomoh was the son of BathShaba and being in the Covenant he prophesied of the love of Aluahaym towards the daughter of Tsiyown as her husband and maker and the love of Tsiyown to her husband and maker in a marriage oath.

Song 2:16 My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.
Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; Yahuah of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The Aluahaym of the whole earth shall he be called.

Yahusha is our husband and we are of his flesh and of his bones.

The same word ‘Shabay’ also means ‘seven’
Bath also means ‘measure’

Hence put together ‘Seven measures’ which is a complete measure.

Shabbat in the New Testament:

Col 2:16 Let no one therefore judge you in dabar food, or drink, or in respect of a festival or Rashey Chadashim (new months) or Shabbats.Col 2:17 which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of the Mashiyach.

Paul is not saying that “Let no one therefore judge you “ for NOT eating dabar food or observing feasts of Yahuah or Shabbat which are a shadow of things to come but Paul is saying “ Let no one therefore judge you when you eat dabar food or observing feasts of Yahuah or Shabbat which are a shadow of things to come”. The churches take the former interpretation whereas the latter is true because Paul goes on to say ” …but the body is of the Mashiyach”

The Pharisees accused Yahusha for not observing the Shabbat because they had a different carnal meaning to Shabbat and did not see the compassion of the Savior in redeeming his creation from vanity. They only observed a literal day because it was commanded. They did not understand the spiritual in the natural.

Matt12:7 “But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire compassion, and not a sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the innocent.” (Hos 6:6)
Matt12:8 “For the Son of Man is also Master of the Shabbat.”

'The body is of Mashiyach' can be seen where Yahusha says of himself that he is greater than the physical temple of the Jews because he understood perfectly what Shabbat meant and observed it perfectly and quoted Hosea 6:6

Hos 6:6 For I desired in mercy and not sacrifice, and in the knowledge of Aluahym rather than burnt offerings.

The knowledge of Aluahym (spiritual) in the physical (like burnt offerings & Shabbat) is what the desire of Aluahym was. 'The body of Mashiyach' is the observation of the Thurah in seeing that we are now his body and the sanctification of the body is what Thurah teaches.

The Renewed Testament assemblies met on first of the Shabbats:

Acts 20:7. way’hiy b’echad baShabbatot ka’asher ne’es’phu hatal’miydiym lib’tso`a halechem way’daber ‘itam Polos kiy-‘amar laleketh misham l’macharath hayom waya’are’k hadabar `ad-chatsoth halay’lah.

Acts20:7 On first of the Shabbats, when the disciples (they) were gathered together to break bread, Shaul preached to them, intending to leave the following day, and he prolonged his message until midnight.

KJV: Ac 20:7 ¶ And upon the first day of the week (shabbaton), when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

Greek uses the Hebrew word ‘shabbaton’ which KJV translates into English as ‘week’

1 Corin 16:2. b’kal-‘echad baShabbatot ‘iysh ‘iysh mikem ka’asher tasiyg yado yaniyach ‘ets’lo w’ye’etsor l’ma`an ‘asher ‘abo’ w’lo’ yiqabets `od.

1Cor16:2 On first of the Shabbats each one of you is to put aside and save, as he may prosper, so that there be no gatherings when I come.

The Greek translation uses the Hebrew word ‘Shabbaton’

KJV: 1Co 16:2 Upon the first day of the week (Shabbaton translated as week in English) let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Acts 16:13 And on the day of the Shabbat we went outside the gate to a riverside, where we were supposing that there would be a place of prayer; and we sat down and spoke to the women who had assembled.

Yahusha rose on Shabbath day to fulfill the rest of the 7th day in which Aluahym who saw his works and rested when he saw on the doorway of his creation the Mashiyach standing, securing and surrounding all his works.

Matt 28:1 w’acharey motsa’ey haShabbatot k’shehe’iyr l’echad baShabbatot ba’ah Mir’yam haMag’daliyth uMir’yam ha’achereth lir’oth ‘eth-haqaber.

Matt28:1 Now on the eve of behold the Shabbats, as it began to dawn toward the first of the Shabbats, Miriam Magdalene and the other Miriam came to look at the grave.

The remaining 3 Shabbats they went to the synagogue preaching Mashiyach :

Acts17:1 Now when they had traveled through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a synagogue of the Jews.
Acts17:2 And according to Shaul’s custom, he went to them, and for three Shabbats reasoned with them from the Scriptures,

Thus the Shabbat day was always in Hebrew considered to be Yahuah’s day because on that day Yahuah rested when he saw his Son on the doorway of his creation standing, securing and surrounding it.

Lu 4:16 And he (Yahusha) came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

Yahusha observed the Turah of Aluahym in fulfilling his mission of pressing in the covenant of the house of Yahuah. This rest became our eternal hope.

Rev 1:10 I was in the Spirit on the Master’s day, and I heard behind me a great voice as the sound of a trumpet,

Yahuchanan (John) saw the revelation relating to his judgement and wrath on the Master’s day i.e. Yahusha’s day.

Ex 31:13 And you, speak to the sons of Yisrael, saying, You shall surely keep My Alaph Thu Shabbats; for this is a sign (Alaph Uau Thu) between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am Yahuah who sanctifies you.

Col 2:16 Let no one therefore judge you in dabar food, or drink, or in respect of a festival or Rashey Chadashim (new months) or Shabbats.
Col 2:17 which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of the Mashiyach.

In Ex 31:13 Yahuah says that this would be the sign (owth) between him and us throughout your generation that you may know that I am Yahuah who sanctifies you….Paul speaks in Col 2:17 “ …but the body is of the Mashiyach”

Rome changed times and laws of Yahuah to make a new religion called Christianity which changed Yahusha’s day to Sunday and since thousands of years people have been gathering in their churches on Sunday and Sunday is a declared holiday in the Western world because of the influence of Rome. Aluahym’s people who come out of this Mystery Babylon are scattered across the nations in Rome’s captivity with no hope of gathering here on earth until our gathering unto him when he comes on the clouds with great power and glory to rescue us from Gomer and Magog who have surrounded us.
Though our physical eyes may see Gomer and Magog (pagan Greek-Roman culture) surrounded us we need to see creation from Aluahym’s eyes. He saw Yahusha standing on the doorway of his creation securing and surrounding it.

When Yisharal went into captivity they observed Shabbats in desolation.

2Chr36:21 to fulfill the word of Yahuah by the mouth of YirmeYahu (Jeremiah), until the land had enjoyed its Shabbats. All the days of its desolation it kept its Shabbat, to fulfill seventy years.

If we are spiritual Yahudi's and have crossed over from the pagan religions of the world we cannot ignore the ‘Shabbaton Shabbat’ because it was ordained perpetually for all generations for our sanctification. Though being in under captivity of Greek-Roman culture because of which we may have to work and fulfill our duties towards our children whose schools are open on Shabbat etc we must not forget the sign of our sanctification. James the emissary (apostle) reminds us the Gentiles coming to the faith that Moshe from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him since he is READ IN THE SYNANGOGUES EVERY SHABBAT.

Acts 15:19 Therefore it is my judgment that we do not trouble those who are turning to Aluahym from among the Gentiles,
Acts15:20 but that we write to them that they abstain from things contaminated by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood.
Acts15:21 For Moshe from ancient generations has in every city those who preach him, since he is read in the synagogues every Shabbat.

Matth 24:20. ‘a’k hith’palalu shel’ tih’yeh m’nusath’kem bachoreph w’lo’ baShabbat.
Matt24:20 “But pray that your flight shall not be in the harvest, or on the Shabbat.”
Matt24:21 “For then there shall be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall.”

The Hebrew word ‘chorep’ can also be translated as ‘harvest’

Job 29:4 As I was in the days of my harvest (chorep), when the friendship of the AL was over my tent

Yahusha warned to pray that his peoples flight (fleeing) be not in the harvest or on the Shabbat or else there would be a great tribulation such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall be. Because Aluahym’s children did not guard his commands this calamity of fleeing unfortunately has happened on the Shabbat and it’s been thousands of years since his people are living in the desolation of Rome.

Jer 17:27 But if you do not listen to Me to keep the Aleph Tau Shabbat day holy and not to carry a burden and coming in through the gates of Yerushalam on the Shabbat day, then I shall kindle a fire in its gates and it shall devour the palaces of Yerushalam and not be quenched.

Lastly now that we are in the desolation and are observing the Shabbat in desolation with a hope of our redemption into the arms of our Savior Yahusha who will come to redeem us from this desolation and captivity we must rend our heart for disobeying his Turah in not hallowing the Shabbat Shabbaton since it is the sign of our sanctification. The ‘Sign’ stands for the Hebrew letter ‘Tau’, therefore the Shabbat Shabbaton is the Thu of the Covenant where Thu also means ‘LAST’ and the last is our REST.

Psalms 137 is the mourning of the daughter of Zion by the rivers of Babylon in desolation. They hung their harps (joyous praise and worship instruments) on the willow tree. They say ''How can we sing the song of Yahuah in a strange land?''

Ps 137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and also we wept, when we remembered Zion.
Ps137:2 Upon the willows in the midst of it we hung our harps.
Ps137:3 For there our captors asked us the words of a song, and our tormentors mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.
Ps137:4 How can we sing the song of Yahuah in a foreign land?
Ps137:5 If I forget you, O Yerushalam, let my right hand forget.

As widows seated we are weeping for the redemption of Yarushalam while the carnal so called Yahudi's are running after blood moon calendar.

Joel2:31 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood before the great and awesome day of Yahuah comes.

The great day of Yahuah is the Shabbath when his elect would be in perpetual rest in Mashiyach while the wicked destroyed.

Jer 16:9 For thus says Yahuah of hosts, the AL of Yisrael: Behold, I shall cause to cease from this place, before your eyes and in your time, the voice of rejoicing and the voice of gladness, the voice of the groom and the voice of the bride.

Rev18:22 And the sound of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters shall not be heard in you any longer; and no craftsman of any craft shall be found in you any longer; and the sound of a mill shall not be heard in you any longer;Rev 18:23 and the light of a lamp shall not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery

Compare the above 2 verses and you will see it speaks of carnal Yasharal with his blood moon calendar observing feasts and Shabbath of Yahuah in a strange land without discernment and sending greeting Shalum Shalum when there is no Shalum

Jer 6:14 They have healed the brokenness of My people lightly, saying, Peace (Shalum), peace (Shalum), but there is no peace (Shalum).

Paleo Hebrew is so clear and beautiful language that expresses Hebrew words in clarity. Good insights on Shabbat Shabbaton
