Where are you this Pesach?

 Exo 12:14  ‘And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall chagag H2287/ observe the festival it as a chag/H2282 feast to יהוה throughout your generations – chagag H2287/observe it as a festival, an Olam H5769 / everlasting chaqah H2708/ decree



Chag and chagag: three times in the verse Yahuah commands that we observe the festival of Passover, if anything said more than once has a very important significance

Chag: חג the letter Chet is a pictographic of a fence and the letter gamal is the pictographic of a foot 

The picture is of an "outside gathering" 

The chagag חגג translated as observe as a festival is pictured as outside gathering of many people.

This word chag is used for every feast of Yahuah and the outside gathering is a picture as Hebrews says let us go outside the camp bearing the reproach of Mashiyach for we do not have a lasting city here.

Heb 13:12  And so יהושע also suffered outside the gate, to set apart the people with His own blood.

Heb 13:13  Let us, then, go to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach. 

Heb 13:14  For we have no lasting city here, but we seek the one coming.

The outside the camp was the place of the summit ie. On Mount of Olives where Yahusha ha Mashiyach was impaled. It was still within the boundary of the land towards the east of where Eden stood, where later Shelemoh built the temple in the exact same place. Currently Yasharal is in dispersion of the nations and the beyond the summit. The setting of the geographical location is important to understand 


1Pe 1:1   Kěpha, an emissary of יהושע Messiah, to the chosen, strangers of the dispersion in Pontos, Galatia, Kappadokia, Asia, and Bithunia, 


Jas 1:1   Ya‛aqoḇ, a servant of Elohim and of the Master יהושע Messiah, to the twelve tribes who are in the dispersion: Greetings. 

Hence, the gathering is to be understood spiritually as there is nothing else we can do but to zakar/ remember H2146 (zikron) and the assembling is in Ruach understanding of our Pesach lamb Yahusha 

1Co 5:7  Therefore cleanse out the old leaven, so that you are a new lump, as you are unleavened. For also Messiah our Pěsaḥ was slaughtered for us.

1Co 5:8  So then let us celebrate the festival, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

So beloved, you don’t have to remove literal leaven from your homes and eat unleavened bread for 7 days, for Shaul the emissary spiritualises the command by saying let us celebrate the festival not with the old leaven (referring to sin in our lives) but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 

The word translated as sincerity is the Hebrew word ‘tam’ תם which mean’s perfect/whole/ righteous 

Hence, the unleavened bread of righteousness and truth is believing and remembering/zakar Yahusha ha Mashiyach as our Passover lamb who saves us from the wrath to come. 

Not allowing the destroyer to take away the firstborn berekah given to us in Him.

These are spiritual things and need to discerned spiritually.

The context of observing this festival literally was related to the land: re-read verse 25 “And it shall be, when you come to the land which Yahuah gives you as He promised you will guard this service.


Exo 12:25  “And it shall be, when you come to the land which יהוה gives you, as He promised, that you shall guard this service.

Exo 12:26  “And it shall be, when your children say to you, ‘What does this service mean to you?’

Exo 12:27  then you shall say, ‘It is the Pěsaḥ slaughtering of יהוה, who passed over the houses of the children of Yisra’ěl in Mitsrayim when He smote the Mitsrites and delivered our households.’ ” And the people bowed their heads and did obeisance.


We saw in the Hebrew text that we don’t have a lasting city here. 


There is one more notable text in The OT which seems to say the Destroyer to be Yahuah Himself 


Exo 11:4  And Mosheh said, “Thus said יהוה, ‘About midnight *I am going out into the midst of Mitsrayim*,

Exo 11:5  and all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim shall die, from the first-born of Pharaoh who sits on his throne, even to the first-born of the female servant who is behind the handmill, and all the first-born of cattle. 

Exo 11:6  ‘And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Mitsrayim, such as has never been or ever shall be again.


Exo 12:12  ‘*And I shall pass through the land of Mitsrayim on that night, and shall strike all the first-born in the land of Mitsrayim*, both man and beast. And on all the mighty ones of Mitsrayim I shall execute judgment. I am יהוה.

Exo 12:13  ‘And the blood shall be a sign/auth H226 for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, *I shall pass /pesach H6452 over/al H5921 you*, and let the plague not come on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Mitsrayim.

Exodus 11:4-6 & 12: 12-13 Yahuah identifies that He is the One who will do the striking of the firstborn in all the land. And in verse 23 of Exo 12 Yahuah says He himself will smite the Egyptians and at the same time says He will not allow the destroyer to come into their houses.

Exo 12:23  “And יהוה shall pass on to smite the Mitsrites, and shall see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and יהוה shall pass over/pesach H6452 over/ al H5921 the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you.

In Exo 12:23 the word destroyer in Hebrew is the word ‘shacath שחת H7843 which also means “corrupt”


The ‘shacath’ was the waster/spoiler/corruptor

Hence, it’s very important to understand key elements of what Yahuah is saying in these texts:


1. The blood was to be the sign (Exo 12:13)

2. The smiting will be done by Yahuah Himself (Exo 11:4-6; 12:12-13 & verse 23)

3. Yahuah will Pesach (al) , the word al is an elevation and is a root word in alah עלה H5928 which means rising.

Put together the verse would read :

Exo 12:23  “And יהוה shall pass on to smite the Mitsrites, and shall see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and יהוה shall Pesach over the door and not allow the waster/spoiler/corrupter  to come into your houses to smite you.

To understand this better we should turn to the Ezekiel 20 passages:


Eze 20:5  “And you shall say to them, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “On the day when I chose Yisra’ěl and lifted My hand in an oath to the seed of the house of Ya‛aqoḇ, and made Myself known to them in the land of Mitsrayim, I lifted My hand in an oath to them, saying, ‘I am יהוה your Elohim.’

Eze 20:6  “On that day I lifted My hand in an oath to them, to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, the splendour of all lands.

Eze 20:7  “And I said to them, ‘Each one of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile yourselves with the idols of Mitsrayim! I am יהוה your Elohim.’

Eze 20:8  “But they rebelled against Me, and would not obey Me. All of them did not throw away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Mitsrayim. So I resolved to pour out My wrath on them to complete My displeasure against them in the midst of the land of Mitsrayim.

Eze 20:9  “But I acted for My Name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the eyes of the nations among whom they were – before whose eyes I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim.

Eze 20:10  “So I took them out of the land of Mitsrayim, and I brought them into the wilderness.

Eze 20:11  “And I gave them My laws and showed them My right-rulings, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them.’



Here Yahuah gives us information of Him asking Yasharal whilst they were in Mitsrayim to put away the idols of Mitsrayim (Egypt) but they didn’t heed His voice so He withheld His purpose of destroying them in the land of Mitsrayim for His own name sake and also that His name be not profaned among the heathen.

Hence, when we read the Exo 12:23 passage we understand that He when smiting the firstborn Himself kept the Pesach for them at the door not allowing the waster to take away their lives and the firstborn berekah He has reserved for them. This is how we understand these passages spiritually in gathering the additional information Yahuah gives us from the Ezekiel 20 passages.

There was a mixed multitude sitting behind closed doors with the blood as a sign on the lintel of the two doorposts and for the sake of His name Yahuah didn’t consume them but did the Pesach Himself. But the idolators sitting behind that door didn’t escape the judgement, their carcasses fell in the wilderness as Yahuah swore in His wrath “They shall not enter into His rest”

Heb 3:16  For who, having heard, rebelled? Was it not all who came out of Mitsrayim, led by Mosheh? 

Heb 3:17  And with whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 

Heb 3:18  And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not obey? 

Heb 3:19  So we see that they were unable to enter in because of unbelief.

Similarly, this Pesach we need to introspect and see what am I doing in my walk with Yahusha? Am I still drinking the wine of Hagar? Doing the Shabbaths, feasts etc carnally rather than seeing it’s fulfilment in Mashiyach and only zakar/ remembering Him and thanking Him for not allowing the waster/spoiler/corrupt to take away our firstborn blessing like He did for Esau, Yishmael etc.

There is nothing you and me can do beyond thanking Yahusha in a song of malah as He did the Pesach at the door for you and me.

If you try to do any other works like killing a lamb, eating a seder meal, removing literal leaven from your houses rather than your lives etc. you will lose your firstborn blessing as the Pesach done by Yahusha is only for the remnant called His elect. The rest only gather as chagag חגג (observing the festival ) in outward form of a circular motion as the word chagag also means dancing in a circular motion.

You can’t escape sitting as a Mitsary behind the closed door as in the wilderness journey you will be as the carcass whom Yahusha said “Where the carcass is the wild birds gather “

Exo 12:14  ‘And this day shall become to you a remembrance. And you shall chagag H2287/ observe the festival it as a chag/H2282 feast to יהוה throughout your generations – chagag H2287/observe it as a festival, an Olam H5769 / everlasting chaqah H2708/ decree

Meaning of Olam: H5769 is from alam H5956 which means to veil from sight/conceal/hide/secret thing. While the word 'olam' itself means time past or future, also is translated as forever/always/ eternal/everlasting/beginning of the world + without end.

'lam' (Lamed Mem) in Olam in Hebrew means 'belonging' and we can see in the name 'Lemuel' which means 'lem/belonging u/to EL/Elohim'

It's also rooted in the word 'ALAM' (Alaph Lamed Mem) which is translated as 'sheaf' (a bundle of grain stalks laid lengthways and tied together after reaping and is stacked in a standing position). The last 2 letters in the above image spelled as 'olam' is 'lam'

the root word 'al' in 'olam/alam' means 'raise/above/upon/high'. This same word 'ol/al' is also a root word in H5927 'alah' which means 'be high/bring up/went up' 

Hence, we see the concealed meaning of 'raising up to belong to Aluahym' while the word itself has multiple meanings which we already saw related to 'time.'

This clearly shows that in Yahuah's time He raises those whom He chose to belong to Himself. The firstfruits in Mashiyach.

The everlasting decree / olam chaqah is spiritually understood as The decree is established on high by Yahuah Himself and can be seen that Yahusha was the High priest who presided over His own sacrifice as the high priest judging Him had torn his clothes and as per Torah the high priest was disqualified to be the high priest.

Hence, the Pesach lamb without blemish was inspected , offered by Himself as He said No one takes His life from Him, He lays it down Himself of His own will. 

Joh 14:30  “I shall no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he possesses none at all in Me,

Joh 10:17  “Because of this the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, in order to receive it again.

Joh 10:18  “No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to receive it again. This command I have received from My Father.”

When we are doing this in remembrance/zakar of Yahusha as the fulfillment with no further work required to do we continue to have the firstborn berekah as He is the firstborn.

The moment one says I am to feast by having the Seder meal, remove literal leaven, do the feast in a pagan land etc. the waster/spoiler comes to take away your firstborn berekah.
