26 This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; Alahim hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it.
27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
28 UPHARSIN; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
In Daniel Chapter 5 we read of Belshazzar the son of Nebuchadnezzar came to power after his father had died. Before understanding the part of the hand which came and wrote on the wall the words 'Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin' in Aramaic we read Belshazzar made a great feast to his lords and drank wine with his lords, his princes, his wives, and his concubines from the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the house of Yahuah. (Dan 5:2-3)
In that same hour came fingers of a man's hand (Dan 5:5) who wrote these words.
In the above verses we see Daniel interpreting what the writing means. While this writing which from Alahim came to pass as said by Daniel that his kingdom would be divided to Medes and Persia this writing is prophetic and needs to be seen in the light of other scriptures to see how this relates to Mystery Babylon.
In this same chapter we see Daniel boldly rebuking Belshazzar that he knew of how his father Nebuchadnezzar in his pride fell from his throne and he was driven from among the sons of men and his heart made like the beasts till he knew that Alahim ruled in the kingdom of men. Inspite of knowing what happened to his father yet Belshazzar in his pride did not exalt the true Alahim of heaven but has praised idols of gold, silver, wood,brass and stone and drunk wine in the vessels of gold and silver from Alahim's house.
Da 5:20 But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
21 And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high Alahim ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
22 And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this;
Da 5:23 But hast lifted up thyself against Yahuah of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the Alahim in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified:
While we may wonder what is the spiritual significance of all this let me remind you what was told to Nebuchadnezzar when his heart was made like a wild beast.
Da 4:23 And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
There are 7 beastly rules of Satan (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medes- Persia,Greece, Rome and the little horn of Rome which is CHRISTIANITY which came out of Rome including the Reformists, Protestants, Methodists etc) of which Mystery Babylon was part of as it is a spiritual kingdom and would be completely manifest once these seven times would pass by. That was the appointed time and was prophetic.
Coming back to Daniel 5 we see Daniel giving Belshazzar a reminder of what was spoken of his father and his kingdom. What happened with Nebuchadnezzar was a dual prophecy which applied both to Nebuchadnezzar and Mystery Babylon which would be manifest in the last times.
Re 17:11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
Belshazzar stood symbolic of the eighth of the seven because his kingdom would be divided and given to Medes and Persia. We read the fulfillment of the dual prophecy in Rev 16:19 & Rev 17: 16 where we read that this woman which John saw is that GREAT CITY which reigneth over the kings of the earth and this GREAT CITY will be divided into THREE PARTS.
Re 17:16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 For Alahim hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of Alahim shall be fulfilled.
18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
Re 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before Alahim, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
We also see Alahim's word spiritually defining who the vessels from which Belshazzar drank from stand for.
2Ti 2:20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.
The eight of the seven caused sanctified vessels to be defiled with the wine of his fornication. Hence we read of the judgment. Let's re read Rev 16:19 again
Re 16:19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before Alahim, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.
Here scripture says great BABYLON CAME IN REMEMBRANCE BEFORE ALAHYM TO GIVE HER THE CUP OF THE WINE OF THE FIERCENESS OF HIS WRATH. What a just Alahim we have.
Isa 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the YAHUAH.
The division of the kingdom into three parts is to show that Alahim will bring his third part through the fire and show them mercy inspite of their fornication while two thirds will be cut off because these were vessels fitted for destruction.
Ro 9:22 What if Alahim, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Zec 13:8 And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the YAHUAH, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say,YAHUAH is my Alahim.
Thus with the separation of the wheat and the tares the Messiah prepares the tares to be bound up and burnt while he gathers his wheat into his barn.
We see a spiritual picture of the three parts where two parts (Sodom and Gomorrah) were destroyed and one part (Zoar) was not destroyed in Lot's escape to Zoar . Zoar means 'little one'
Ge 19:19 Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die:
20 Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live.
21 And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken.
22 Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
Similarly the two parts in Mystery Babylon were those false brethren from the Jews and Gentiles who came trampling the outer court and brought their carnal heritage with them while the elect who also came from Jews and Gentiles forsook their heritage counting it as dung to gain the excellency of the Yahuah our Messiah and became the one part of the little city where Alahim would have mercy on where they flee to. Alahim separates them from the three measures of meal the woman hid her leaven in till the whole was leavened.
Re 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Gog and Magog (two parts) versus the saints (third part)
Lu 13:20 And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of Alahim?
21 It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.
The Woman is Jezebel hiding leaven (sin) in the three measures of meal. All three measures get leavened but Yahuah in his mercy separates his one part from the three parts leaving the two parts leavened but his third part refined by the fire of his sacrifice.
Coming back to the account of Daniel 5. The hand that came writing upon the wall was the 'spirit of prophecy' which testified beforehand how the kingdom of Mystery Babylon would prosper by Alahim's will until he fulfills his desire in destroying it completely.This writing came in an UNKNOWN TONGUE (probably in Paleo Hebrew and Yisharal had forgotten the pure language in captivity and had learned the tongue of the Babylonians and even when they came back they came back with the Babylonian square script). Though the book of Daniel is available in Aramaic (but was written in Hebrew) and those living during the Babylonian empire spoke Aramaic as well as the Ashurit Hebrew we must not overlook that this writing none of the wise men of Babylon could understand except for Daniel who with the help of Alahim could interpret it to the king.
Isa 28:7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.
8 For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.
9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Re 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

Da 5:27 TEKEL; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
The Aramaic word translated as 'wanting' should actually be translated as 'deficient' because that's what it means.
Ps 62:9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
Isa 40:15 Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
This kingdom is deceptive and shows as though it measures up to Alahim's standard (like the tower of Babel reaching heaven) but is DEFICIENT of all that the Messiah is and is measured up to destruction. Alahim uses UNKNOWN TONGUE to disperse the once ONE LANGUAGE on all the face of the earth of this kingdom and Alahim shows his people what she is made up of by measuring her. Without Alahim revealing his measuring her to his people, his people would never have differentiated that this is Satan's kingdom within Alahim's kingdom.
Alahim measures her as two parts and separates his people as the third part from her.
UPHARSIN:
Da 5:28 PERES; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
The word translated there as PERES is incorrectly done by translators. You may look it up in the Interlinear it is UPHARSIN . We saw what Upharsin means. The kingdom divided. The wheat and the tares separated. Heaven departed as a scroll.
Finally we see the same night Belshazzar was SLAIN. His kingdom was a short space kingdom.

Re 17:10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
