A gospel not being mixed with faith

In our previous studies we have seen that the creature was made subject to vanity not willingly but by the reason of him who subjected the same in hope. The Messiah is the hope of the creature redeeming the creature from the wrapped up vanity he came into this world. While man may show some spirituality as the fig tree in leaf  yet if that spirituality is not aligned to Alahim's pattern i.e. the Messiah then it is an drive of his pathway to death being unfruitful and part of Mystery Babylon which showed an outward show of being clothed in fine linen, purple, scarlet, gold and precious stones.

Re 18:16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!.

The Woman who clung to the Messiah and called him her husband to take away her reproach but was eating her own bread and wearing her own apparel.

Isa 4:1 ¶ And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

If one is not connected to the true Messiah as defined by the spirit of prophecy and who alone bears the hupostasis (substance) of Alahim then he is still dead in his sins and is deceived into thinking that he is a partaker of his divine nature whereas he is actually tied up to Mystery Babylon and has not part in the Messiah.

Let's begin by examining spiritual vs spiritual from the account from John Chapter 5 where the man with an infirmity thirty and eight years was lying on his bed waiting to be put in the water when the angel who came down from heaven at a certain season troubled the waters

Joh 5:2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
6 When Yahusha saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
8 Yahusha saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

Bethesda means house of mercy. In our previous study on this blog 'Cherubs guarding the Pattern' we saw that Alahim used the angelic beings to represent him in mediation guarding the way to the tree of life. The Cherubs in the garden of Eden with the flaming sword which guarded the tree of life (Gen 3:24), The law being given to the mediator through angels (Acts 7:53 & Gal 3:19), the cherubs overshadowing the mercy seat (Exodus 25:19), Jacobs ladder on which the angels ascended and descended on (Gen 28:12-13 & John 1:51), the angel of the Yahuah who appeared in the flame of fire and cloud all showed that the invisible Alahim used the angelic beings to guard his pattern i.e. the Messiah who is the image/face of the invisible Alahim. The types, shadows, ordinances of the carnal commandments, sacrifices, washings etc all pointed to the Messiah who is the pattern and fulfillment of these.
Here in this account of John 5 we see an angel coming down at a certain season troubling the waters and whosoever stepped into the water first was made whole. There is no account anywhere else in the Bible which speaks about this angel coming down troubling the waters. But we know that Alahim just doesn't do things for the sake of doing it. He surely wants us to see in spiritual comparison what this moving/ troubling of the waters mean.
Here Alahim is showing a picture  that the law is spiritual and does show mercy to those who understand the pattern because it's guarded by the testifier himself.Only those attained to understand the  pattern were healed by the stirring  of water. The rest remained bound to their BED.

John 5:8 Yahusha saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.

BED is picture where one is defiled with Jezebel.

Re 2:22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.

Am 3:12 Thus saith the YAHUAH; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.

Eze 23:17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with their whoredom, and she was polluted with them, and her mind was alienated from them.

We see the picture of this man bound with infirmity for thirty and eight years as a picture of the children of Israel who sinned in the wilderness and whom Yahuahhh swore that they will not enter into the promised land but their little ones would enter. Over this period of thirty and eight years Yahuahhh caused all these rebellious people to die.

De 2:14 And the space in which we came from Kadeshbarnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the YAHUAH sware unto them.
15 For indeed the hand of the YAHUAH was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.

The troubling of the waters by the angel is a picture of law not being mixed by faith. To those who weren't to attain salvation it was not mixed with faith as the Yahuah swore that they shall not enter into his rest. They will fall short of reaching the promised land just as these men of war were consumed in Alahim's wrath in the wilderness journey.

Heb 4:1 ¶ Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.

3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Alahim uses the word 'tarasso' for 'troubled' which is in a negative sense because there lay thousands of impotent folk waiting for the troubling of the waters but the one who reached the waters was only one who was made whole.

Joh 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.

The law stood as troubled to those who only saw it appeasing to their carnal senses thinking that some day they will be made whole of it by their carnal observance of it thus not being mixed by faith while the same law being spiritual in nature and those seeing and understanding the depths of the Messiah in it would be healed of the infirmity of sin. That's what Bethesda means 'house of mercy'. The place where elect meet their Messiah and are delivered from their defilement of being bound to the bed of Jezebel.
While this man who stood spiritually for Israel fell short of the law of Alahim he met the Messiah at the sheep gate, the very same gate where all the animals for sacrifices were brought through, The Lamb of Alahim met him there and told him to Rise and take up his bed and walk.

Messiah finds him in the TEMPLE and tells him that he sin no more lets a worse thing come on him.

John 5:14 Afterward Yahusha findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Moving further on we see when this sheep gate was built. The false brethren were scoffing  at Nehemiah when he built this sheep gate

Nehemiah 2:19-20 But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it , they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? [20] Then answered I them, and said unto them, The Alahim of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.

Nehemiah 3:1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.

This was that very gate called Bethesda which means 'house of mercy'. At this gate there were five porches. Porches were covering shelters at the entrance. These five porches where these lame, blind, sick etc lay spiritually stands for the 5 books of Moses. This is a picture of man trying to find rest in the law without understanding that the law is spiritual and the pattern is the Messiah. It's all about him.

Those who can't see who the Messiah is as defined by the law die in the wilderness journey and will not make it to the promised land .i.e the Heavenly Jerusalem.

Joh 5:10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.

This man was healed on SABBATH DAY which stands for the rest in the Messiah. A beautiful picture of salvation and deliverance from the law of sin and death.

Ro 8:1 ¶ There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Messiah Yahusha, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Messiah Yahusha hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

We also see this falling short of the rest in Rev 9 when the locusts are loosed from the bottomless pit. They have the power to hurt men by tormenting them for five months.

Re 9:5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

Re 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

These locusts have face like a man but hair like a woman which shows their rebellion towards the Messiah of not coming under the covering of his headship but rather seeking rest in the five porches waiting to be delivered from a gospel which is not mixed with faith. We have already seen this aspect of the man with the woman's hair where Paul on covering speaks that a man having long hair is a shame to him. In spiritual comparison it shows that the WOMAN INSTEAD OF BEING UNDER THE COVERING OF HER HUSBAND IS TRYING TO BE HIS COVERING by defining the law in their carnal senses and this is exactly what Satan and his evil spirits are doing by distorting the 'HEADSHIP'.

1Co 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?

You may read on these things in my study on this same blog named Covering/Headship of the Husband -Part 1 & 2 at www.dsouzashodan72.blogspot.in.

Speaking of the five months, spiritually the number five has a tie up to the law.

Paul says OF THE JEWS FIVE TIMES he received 39 stripes. Paul was teaching the law was spiritual and was showing the way to grace but the Jews were against him and were inflicting their wrath on him as they just couldn't come out of the bondage to carnal ordinances.

2Co 11:24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

Samaritans observed the law as the Jews and defined the law carnally because of the hardening of their heart. The Messiah met this Samaritan woman who had FIVE HUSBANDS and finally now she was living with one who was not her husband. This was a picture of harlotry which came through a carnal observance of the law whereas we know that the Messiah defined the institution of marriage of two becoming one. Alahim's word further defines marriage as a sacred bond between the Messiah and his bride (Eph 5:31-32)

Joh 4:18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

The rich man in the parable in Luke 16 stood for National Israel clothed in fine linen in outward glory but were stripped of it because they refused to accept the interpretation of the law which came through the mouth of the Messiah himself to whom the law and prophets testified about. The rich man tells Abraham in this parable that he has FIVE BRETHREN whom he doesn't want to come to this place of torment so to send Lazarus to them, but he is told by Abraham that they have MOSES and the PROPHETS.

Lu 16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

Paul said in the church he rather speak FIVE WORDS with his understanding then with an unknown tongue. The law unless interpreted through the spirit of prophecy was like an UNKNOWN TONGUE

1Co 14:19 Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.
20 Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

Isa 28:9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Coming back to the locusts:

Re 9:10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings (kentron) in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

1Co 15:56  The sting (kentron) of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

The five months torment is symbolic of the sting of the strength of sin. It is a carnal understanding of  'spirit of prophecy' because to them it is guarded by the flaming sword which moved in all directions guarding the way to the tree of life. They can never attain to the tree of life. They fall short of entering the promised land just as those to whom Alahim said " They shall never enter my rest" whose carcasses fell in the wilderness. The five months stands for a physical reading and understanding of the law void of the hidden manna. They don't have rest. This is the kingdom of Mystery Babylon. A spiritual pretender but Alahim makes his elect see that its only a fig tree with leaves, with no fruit in it.

Only the elect understand and sing the song of Moses and of the Lamb

Re 15:3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of Alahim, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Yahuah Alahim Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints

The song of Moses was ..."the horse and the rider hath he thrown into the sea" but Babylon is portrayed with Satan coming as A RIDER ON FOUR HORSES (a false universal carnal gospel) to deceive the nations and bring them back to the house of bondage just as the Egyptians pursued Israel on horses whom Alahim drowned in the Red sea. He comes as the kingdom (Mystery Babylon) of one whose mortal wound was healed

Re 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

Ex 15:1 ¶ Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the YAHUAH, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the YAHUAH, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

But Alahim will drown her forever, never to rise up again.

Re 18:21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

Jer 51:60 So Jeremiah wrote in a book all the evil that should come upon Babylon, even all these words that are written against Babylon.
 61 And Jeremiah said to Seraiah, When thou comest to Babylon, and shalt see, and shalt read all these words;
62 Then shalt thou say, O YAHUAH, thou hast spoken against this place, to cut it off, that none shall remain in it, neither man nor beast, but that it shall be desolate for ever.
63 And it shall be, when thou hast made an end of reading this book, that thou shalt bind a stone to it, and cast it into the midst of Euphrates:
64 And thou shalt say, Thus shall Babylon sink, and shall not rise from the evil that I will bring upon her: and they shall be weary. Thus far are the words of Jeremiah.

The sick who waited for troubling of waters to jump in to it is a picture of believing in a free will gospel. While a man able to reach the troubled waters is a picture of salvation by grace as only those who would be saved reached the troubled waters. Yahusha healing a man in sick bed for 38 years is to show this fact - how that Israel after the flesh failed and only remnant out of them were saved by God's mercy.
