By him all things consist-Part 1

When we read Col 1:15-17 we read that Messiah is the firstborn of every creature and by him were all things created that are in heaven and earth visible and invisible. By looking at these stand alone passages many conclude wrongly and that's why we have various false gospel's floating around giving Messiah an image which he is not.

Col 1:15  Who is the image of the invisible Alahim, the firstborn of every creature:
Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

Therefore the burden of proof lies in comparing spiritual things with spiritual to see how Messiah is before all things and how by him all things consist. It is very important to get freed from false gospel because a first glance at the stand alone passages without spiritual vs spiritual comparison many have concluded that Messiah is a created creature who was in the mind of Alahim when Alahim created all things in heaven and on earth, some say Alahim was with his Son eternally besides him creating all things for him etc

In this study we will see how Alahim relates to his creation ONLY through Messiah who came forth from Alahim to be part of creation carrying his substance and connecting creation to Alahim. Before we get into understanding how all things relate to Alahim through Messiah let's quickly look at Heb 1:3 to see that Messiah is the engraving of the substance of Alahim which he carries.

hos, hay ho (Which) eimi (exists) apaugasma (brightness) ho,hay,to (of the) doxa (glory) kai (and) charakter (Engraving) ho hay to (of the) hupostasis (substance) autos (he) phero (carry/bear) te (even) ho hay to (of the) pas (all) ho hay to (of the) rhema (word) ho hay to (of the) dunamis (power) autos (he) dia (by) heautou (himself) katharismos (cleansing) poieo (doeth) ho hay to (of the) hamartia (offence) ego (I/me) kathizo (sat) en (in) dexios (right) ho hay to (of the) megalosune (majesty) en (in) hupselos (esteem)

In English: Which exists as brightness of the glory and engraving of the substance he carries even all of the word of the power he by himself cleansing doeth of the offence of me sat down in right of the Majesty in esteem

This is consistent with John 16:27 where Messiah claimed that he came out from Alahim.

Joh 16:27  For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from Alahim.

Alahim is utterly transcendent and hence he is beyond all creation & creature and the same Alahim is immanent to his creation through the person of Messiah.

Col 1:15-20 needs to be understood with a comparing of spiritual vs spiritual

2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of Alahim the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

At first glance the scripture seems to say that the earth is standing out of the oceans and seas (water) and in the oceans and seas (water) but we must compare spiritual vs spiritual to see what this exactly means

Gen 2:4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the YAHUAH Alahim made the earth and the heavens

Alahim created the heavens and the earth (the spiritual heavenly Jerusalem) in the day he created the earth and the heavens (the existing earth and the heavens with the clouds, stars, planets and galaxies). Let’s look at 2 Peter 3:5 in the Greek to see this beautiful truth.

2 Pet 3:5 lanthano (being ignorant) gar (seeing) autos (his) houtos (the same) thelo ethelo (intent) hoti (concerning) ouranos (heaven) eimi (exists) ekpalai (for a long while) kai (and) ghay (world) ek (by) hudor (water) kai (and) dia (by reason of) hudor (water) sunistao (stand) ho (that) ho he to (of) theos (Alahim) logos (expression)

In simple English: Being ignorant of seeing his same intent concerning heaven exists for a long while and the world by water and by reason of water stands out of Alahim’s expression.

The ungodly who perished in the waters of judgment couldn't see the purpose of Alahim in creating the existing world to be a shadow of the new earth and thus were submerged in the waters of his judgment along with the earth while the earth ( in reference to the new earth) would stand out of that water of judgment by being in Messiah who was submerged in the wrath of Alahim's judgment for us. Peter in the next verse i.e. verse 6 talks about this judgment by water and then goes on to say that this earth is now reserved to be burnt by fire (verse 7).
The earthy man is of the earth submerged by water’s of Alahim’s judgment as he cannot relate to Alahim (having an earthy substance) but the spiritual man is the one who is part of the earth that stands out of water by Alahim’s own expression i.e. being connected by faith to Messiah who was submerged in the water's of Alahim's judgment for our sins.

The standing out of water speaks of his resurrection of which we are part of having a hope to enter heavenly Jerusalem being part of the first resurrection.

Rev 20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of Alahim and of Messiah, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Joh_11:25  Yahusha said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Rom_6:5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

When we read Gen 1:2 we see a picture of the earth without form and void and darkness upon the face of the DEEP which spiritually shows us the condition of the world which is not related to Alahim and in the judgment of his wrath being void and with darkness upon the face of the deep. Then Alahim shows us in the same verse his love for us that he moved upon the face of the waters (deep) which is his act of saving those immersed in that deep to bring them out of the deep to be part of the new earth which stands out of water.

Gen 1:2  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of Alahim moved upon the face of the waters.

Paul spiritualizes the literal passing through the red sea and the cloud that covered them as being baptized unto Moses (law) and then goes on to say that the Rock that followed them was Messiah

1Co 10:1  Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea
1Co 10:2  And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
1Co 10:4  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Messiah.

So we see even those in the old covenant were baptized into Messiah and his baptism is symbolic of his plunging to be part of the creation which was immersed under Alahim's judgment which was subject to vanity so that he could remove the creature of vanity through the hope of his resurrection making him a citizen of the Heavenly Jerusalem which is the new earth standing out of water which Peter speaks of in 2 Peter 3:5.

Rom 8:20  For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,

Psa 8:4  What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?

Compare with Heb 2:6  But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Heb 2:7  Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:

Heb 2:9  But we see Yahusha, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of Alahim should taste death for every man

Col 2:11  In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Messiah:
Col 2:12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of Alahim, who hath raised him from the dead.
Col 2:13  And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

Those immersed with him in baptism are risen with him relating us to Alahim in his PERSON HOOD. beyond him one can never find Alahim and is under Alahim's wrath because his life is not hid in Messiah who took the plunge into the deep being part of his creation.

We read in Gen 1:2 that Alahim's Spirit moved upon the face of the waters and Paul in 2 Corin 3:17 speaks of Yahusha as that Spirit through whom the veil of ignorance is removed.

2Co 3:15  But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
2Co 3:16  Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Yahuah, the vail shall be taken away.
2Co 3:17  Now the Yahuah (Yahusha) is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Yahuah is, there is liberty.

2Pe 3:5  Being ignorant of seeing his same intent concerning heaven exists for a long while and the world by water and by reason of water stands of Alahim’s expression.

Those who don't see the earth under Alahim's judgment and run for refuge to the one who plunged himself for mankind to rescue them and make them part of the new earth which stands out of water are in this ignorance of seeing his intent from Alahim's law. Those who see this are the ones who lives are hid in him.

Col 3:3  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Messiah in Alahim.

Those seeking the Father beyond Messiah will be in for a big disappointment as the Father is personified in the Son. The Son descended into the lower parts of the earth and has ascended far above all heavens that he might fill all things.

Eph 4:9  (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?
Eph 4:10  He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)

Messiah's descension into the lower parts of the earth shows him plunging into the judgment to taste death for us and his ascension far above all heavens shows him connecting us to Alahim from where he came out to be part of his creation thus being the firstborn over all creation.

Rom 5:9  Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Rom 5:10  For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to Alahim by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

We see from Alahim's word that the law is spiritual and man carnal and slave of sin hence he cannot see the spiritual in the natural. He cannot see that the first earth stood as a shadow for the heavenly country. Even the Israelites couldn't see in the law and ordinances delivered to them this blessed truth which relates all of creation to Alahim through Messiah who came out from him and became part of his creation. They sought Canaan to be their land of promise and sought inheritance in it without understanding that Canaan stood as a shadow for the new earth and even father Abraham who was promised that his seed would inherit Canaan did not seek Canaan a country to be desired but dwelt as a sojourner in it and looked for the new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Heb 11:9  By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
Heb 11:10  For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is Alahim.

Looking back at 2 Peter 3, Peter says that we look for new heavens and new earth wherein dwells righteousness and goes on to say that seeing that ye look for such things be DILIGENT THAT YE MAY BE FOUND OF HIM IN PEACE

2Pe 3:13  Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2Pe 3:14  Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

We can only be found of him in peace by seeing all things which sprung forth from him and reconciled back to Alahim through him. It wouldn't have been possible without the MEDIATOR.

Eph 1:9  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Eph 1:10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Messiah, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

Being unified to Messiah we are reconciled to Alahim in Messiah. Most important of all my search for Alahim ends in Messiah. I stand out of the water by his resurrection.

Finally the judgment of the flood was a type to show how dark the deep is and all those who are earthy what their fate will be.

1 Peter 3:18-21 For Messiah also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to Alahim, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: [19] By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; [20] Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of Alahim waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. [21] The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward Alahim,) by the resurrection of Yahusha Messiah:
The rainbow in the cloud was the promise of Alahim of rescue from the waters of judgment.

The rainbow in the cloud was the promise of Alahim of rescue from the waters of judgment.

Ge 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

Revelation 4:3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

The rainbow around the throne shows Alahim is a Alahim of covenant who rescues his people from his wrath.

Revelation 10:1 And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

This messenger who came down from heaven is Messiah clothed with cloud speaks of baptism of his death in which are hidden. And rainbow on head shows he is mindful of his covenant

1 Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
The Rock that followed them was Messiah who was in the pillar of cloud testifying through spirit of prophecy of his death and rescue to his people from that death being mindful of his covenant of bow in the cloud. Alahim bless.
