The Torah of the Father to the Son

Rom 4:16  On account of this it is of belief, that it be according to favour, for the promise to be made certain to all the seed, not only to those who are of the Torah, but also to those who are of the belief of Aḇraham, who is father of us all –

Rom 4:17  as it has been written, “I have made you a father of many nations” – in the presence of Him whom he believed, even Elohim, who gives life to the dead and calls that which does not exist as existing,

Before Torah came written on stones it was handed over orally from father to son right from Adam. We have several examples from scripture where the fathers sacrificed to Yahuah in the manner it was taught to them without any documentation.

Adam taught Habal/Abel & Qayin, Habal was able to please Aluahym with his sacrifice and even though is dead, he still speaks as Aluahym is witnessing of his gifts.

Heb 11:4  By belief, Heḇel offered to Elohim a greater slaughter offering than Qayin, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, Elohim witnessing of his gifts. And through it, having died, he still speaks.

Noach built an altar to Yahuah and sacrificed to Him from every clean beast and clean bird as burnt offerings

Gen 8:20  And Noaḥ built an altar to יהוה, and took of every clean beast and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

Gen 8:21  And יהוה smelled a soothing fragrance, and יהוה said in His heart, “Never again shall I curse the ground because of man, although the inclination of man’s heart is evil from his youth, and never again smite all living creatures, as I have done,

Abraham built an altar to Yahuah and called on the name of Yahuah, while the direct text that a sacrifice was offered is missing, how else would he call on the name of Yahuah by building an altar to Yahuah? Why would an altar be built if no sacrifice was offered on it? Hence, the sacrifice was offered as taught to the son by his father.

Gen 12:7  And יהוה appeared to Aḇram and said, “To your seed I give this land.” And he built there an altar to יהוה, who had appeared to him.

Gen 12:8  And from there he moved to the mountain east of Bĕyth Ěl, and he pitched his tent, with Bĕyth Ěl on the west and Ai on the east. And he built there an altar to יהוה, and called on the Name of יהוה.

The same is seen of Yitshaq:

Gen 26:24  And יהוה appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the Elohim of your father Aḇraham. Do not fear, for I am with you, and shall bless you and increase your seed for My servant Aḇraham’s sake.”

Gen 26:25  And he built an altar there, and called on the Name of יהוה, and he pitched his tent there, and the servants of Yitsḥaq dug a well there.

and same is seen of Yaaqob:

Gen 33:18  And Yaʽaqoḇ came safely to the city of Sheḵem, which is in the land of Kenaʽan, when he came from Paddan Aram. And he pitched his tent before the city.

Gen 33:19  And he bought the portion of the field where he had pitched his tent, from the children of Ḥamor, Sheḵem’s father, for one hundred qesitah.

Gen 33:20  And he set up an altar there and called it Ěl Elohĕ Yisra’ĕl.

So we have evidence of fathers building an altar and calling on the name of Yahuah by sacrificing to Him without any document that needed to be followed. They didn't have to follow set laws to do it as they did it exactly the way the father taught it to the son.

When we look at Abraham, the one altar which is called the mikphad altar stands out over any other altar as it was built on Mount Moriah where hundreds of years later the temple was built on the same mount and the red heifer sacrifice was done on the mikphad altar opposite the temple i.e. outside the gate on the Day of Atonement. This altar stood on the east of Eden i.e.on Mount of Olives, built originally by Adam himself on which Qayin and Habal sacrificed & later Abraham went to sacrifice his only son Yitshaq on it, but by the divine instruction of the Messenger of Yahuah offered the ram caught by its horns in the thickets instead of his son and received him back as a type.

Heb 11:18  of whom it was said, “In Yitsḥaq your seed shall be called,”

Heb 11:19  reckoning that Elohim was able to raise, even from the dead, from which he received him back, as a type.

Abraham named this place Yahuah Yarah, which means on the Mount Yahuah will be seen.

The promise that he would be father of many nations was made to Abraham and his name changed from Abram to Abraham. I have shared this before how Yahuah worked according to the Torah of life of the Father to Son through the promise which was not made to 'seeds' but to 'YOUR SEED' who is Mashiyach.

Gal 3:16  But the promises were spoken to Aḇraham, and to his Seed. He does not say, “And to seeds,” as of many, but as of one, “And to your Seed,” who is Messiah.

Abraham was Abram when he was 99 years old when Yahuah Aluahym appeared to him as Al Shaddai and gave him the covenant of circumcision/barayat mila and changed his name from Abram to Abraham and his wife's name, from Sarai to Sarah. We saw how Yahuah did it in my previous studies.

Col 2:9  Because in Him dwells all the completeness of the Mightiness bodily,

Col 2:10  and you have been made complete in Him, who is the Head of all principality and authority.

Col 2:11  In Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision not made with hands, in the putting off of the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Messiah,

While Mashiyach was circumcised physically when born into the world, before even He came into this world, He was working in the hearts of the fathers and the sons through the circumcision of the heart. That is why Shaul says Abraham was justified by belief when he was in the uncircumcised state and the outward sign came later as the 'seal of righteousness'

Rom 4:7  “Blessed are those whose lawlessnesses are forgiven, and whose sins are covered,

Rom 4:8  blessed is the man to whom יהוה shall by no means reckon sin.”

Rom 4:9  Is this blessing then upon the circumcised only, or also upon the uncircumcised? For we affirm: Belief was reckoned unto Aḇraham for righteousness.

Rom 4:10  How then was it reckoned? Being in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.

Rom 4:11  And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the belief while in uncircumcision, for him to be a father of all those believing through uncircumcision, for righteousness to be reckoned to them also,

Rom 4:12  and the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who also walk in the steps of the belief which our father Aḇraham had in uncircumcision.

Rom 2:28  For he is not a Yehuḏite who is so outwardly, neither is circumcision that which is outward in the flesh.

Rom 2:29  But a Yehuḏite is he who is so inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in Spirit, not literally, whose praise is not from men but from Elohim.

Speaking of Yahuchanan the Immerser coming in the Ruach of Alahayu, it was prophesied of Him that he would come to prepare the way of Yahuah in the wilderness. And here the messenger tells ZacharYah his father that in the ruach of AlaYahu, he will restore the heart of the fathers to the children.

Luk 1:16  “And he shall turn many of the children of Yisra’ĕl to יהוה their Elohim.

Luk 1:17  “And he shall go before Him in the spirit and power of Ěliyahu, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the insight of the righteous, to make ready a people prepared for יהוה.”

Mal 4:4  “Remember the Torah of Mosheh, My servant, which I commanded him in Ḥorĕḇ for all Yisra’ĕl – laws and right-rulings.

Mal 4:5  “See, I am sending you Ěliyah the prophet before the coming of the great and awesome day of יהוה.

Mal 4:6  “And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with utter destruction

While the angel Gabriel recites the prophecy of Malachi 4:4-6 about Yahuchanan the Immerser coming in the ruach of AlaYahu and turning the heart of the fathers to the sons, Luke 1:17 translation replaces the text which says in Malachi from 'and the heart of the sons to the fathers' with the following text : 'and the disobedient to the insight of the righteous'

While this confusion of translation from Greek reverse to Hebrew and then into English will always be a problem as we don't have the original NT scrolls in Hebrew but in Greek translation, we should look elsewhere to see what is the meaning of the actual text here.

Firstly the context is stated in Mal 3:7 where Yahuah says that from the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my 'choq' and choq means statues/ordinances

Mal 3:7  “From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from My ordinances/choq H2706 and did not guard them. Turn back to Me, and I shall turn back to you,” said יהוה of hosts. “But you said, ‘In what shall we turn back?’

Lets look at the Hebrew word choq in relation to the Son:

Psa 2:7 “I inscribe/saphar  (סָפַר )for a law/ choq (חֹק) Yahuah has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today/ha yom I have brought You forth.

The word saphar is used for scroll and has also root word sapphiyr which is a purple stone, in scripture the throne of Yahuah on which Yahusha was seated as Yahuah is mentioned as sapphiyr.

In Exodus Masha records of him, Aharon, Nadab & Abihu along with the 70 elders of Yasharal having the covenant meal with Yahuah and he describes how the Aluahym of Yasharal looked like and they were not killed. Below Yahuah's feet was like a paved work of sapphiyr

Exo 24:9  And Mosheh went up, also Aharon, Naḏaḇ, and Aḇihu, and seventy of the elders of Yisra’ĕl,
Exo 24:10  and they saw the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, and under His feet like a paved work of sapphire stone (סַפִּיר ), and like the heavens for brightness.

Ezekiel records a man sitting on the throne and the throne was like a sapphiyr. Both these instances are related to the Son being seen in a vision

Eze 1:26  And above the expanse over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone (סַפִּיר ). And on the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man high above it.

The word choq is translated in most places as statue/ordinance.

The first covenant came written first in the heart of the fathers and then the stones, and these words were copied on a scroll. The second witness always existed as a testimony or witness in the heart of the fathers of belief. The ones following the words literally written on stones fell as they failed to see the witness of Yahuah existed as oral Torah given to the fathers and taught to the sons. Later even though the words came written on stones or scrolls, the ruach was always hidden in the letter as a shanayim/second witness. The same covenant was renewed and came written in the heart of flesh with the engraving of the Ruach tying the heart of the sons to the second witness which existed even before the written Torah was given. That’s why Shaul says we are no longer under the Torah of sin and death but under the Ruach of life in Mashiyach Yahusha. The second set of tablets given to Masha was like a type of this as it was accompanied by Yahuah proclaiming His name Yahuah who is kind and merciful to thousands.

The oral Torah which came from fathers to the sons came documented on the sapphiyr made from the paved work of His feet showing the path one needs to walk in. The Hebrew word for way/path is 'derek'. Yahusha said "I am the Way/Derek, the truth and the life and no one can come to the Father but by Me" John 14:6

Exo 34:6 And יהוה passed before him and proclaimed, “יהוה ,יהוה, an Ěl compassionate and showing favour, patient, and great in loving-commitment and truth,
Exo 34:7 watching over loving-commitment for thousands, forgiving crookedness and transgression and sin, but by no means leaving unpunished, visiting the crookedness of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.”

The Sonship came through the written word on the blue/purple inscription and Yahuah seconded it by He Himself testifying of the Son as Yahuah both in OT as well as NT,  as seen in places as the basharah where Yahusha says “Father esteem your name”, and a voice came from heaven “ I have both esteemed it and will esteem it again” and people who stood by said it had thundered and yet others said a Messenger from heaven had spoken.

Joh 12:28  “Father, esteem Your Name.” Then a voice came from the heaven, “I have both esteemed it and shall esteem it again.”
Joh 12:29  So the crowd who stood by and heard it were saying there had been thunder. Others said, “A messenger has spoken to Him.”
Joh 12:30  יהושע answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.

Also Hebrews says ‘And again when He brought His firstborn into the world He said “Let all the messengers of Aluahym worship Him”

Heb 1:6  And when He again brings the first-born into the world, He says, “Let all the messengers of Elohim worship Him.”

The second/shanayim voice proclamation is very important to understand the voice tenses as to who is speaking whom Hebrews 12 says it was the same voice speaking one from heaven and one on earth.

Heb 12:25  Take heed not to refuse the One speaking. For if those did not escape who refused the warning on earth, much less we who turn away from Him from heaven,
Heb 12:26  whose voice (qol: singular) shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.”

Isa 49:15 “Would a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Though they forget, I never forget you.
Isa 49:16 “See, I have inscribed/choq you on the palms of My hands; your walls are always before Me.

The ordinance came inscribed on the hands of Yahusha the Son who was impaled for us on the stake. Same word choq used but instead of statue is translated as inscribed whereas the word inscribed/saphar is used in Psalms 2:7 which means engraved on scroll. Something written/kathub which was spoken, and the choq is that ordinance which is spoken. The father to son oral torah was a reflection of the Father Son relationship where the Son is testifying by Ruach/Sprit saying " Yahuah is documenting what He said in an inscription of what He spoke, You are My Son and this day/ha yom have I begotten You"

The Hebrew words 'ha yom' show the formation of what was thought, spoken, uttered previously by the Ruach is now coming into a time fulfillment into being documented.

Gal 4:4  But when the fullness of days came, Elohim sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under Torah,
Gal 4:5  to redeem those who were under Torah, in order to receive the adoption as sons.

The Hebrew word for fullness is 'mala' H4390 (mem lamed alaph)

The root words in ‘Mala’ are :

Mal: speak / word
Mul: circumcise
La: no

The word ‘fullness’ shows Yahuah testifying that He has spoken and no longer is He just speaking it but documenting it with a sign as though saying "here is the sign of what I have spoken and that sign is circumcision"

The first word in Gal 4:4 speaks of the ruach rengerative words with a sign of circumcision

Gal 4:4 uba (And in) mal (word and circumcise ) at (alaph tau) ha (this ) day by day (yamyam) sent Alauahym His Son brought forth of a woman put under the Torah.

The verse should read “And in the circumcised word alaph tau spoken day by day, sent Aluahym His Son brought forth of a woman put under Torah”

This is the circumcision of Mashiyach within the heart as the testimony of what was spoken day by day through the Ruach of Sonship now inscribed on a scroll.

Coming back to Abram and Sarai, Yahuah gave two ‘ha’ one to Abram to make him Abraham and other ‘ha’ to  Sarai to make her Sarah and His hand/yod cut out with a sharp instrument / uau the promise He had spoken to give a seal of righteousness in the flesh called circumcision . And the letters put together form His name Yahuah. And this He did when Abraham was 99 and one year later Yitshaq was born.

Yod- hand
Ha- given to Abram to make him Abraham
Uau- sharp instrument or nail to circumcise him
Ha- given to Sarai to make her Sarah

Gen 17:1   And it came to be when Aḇram was ninety-nine years old, that יהוה appeared to Aḇram and said to him, “I am Ěl Shaddai – walk before Me and be perfect.

Gen 17:5  “And no longer is your name called Aḇram, but your name shall be Aḇraham, because I shall make you a father of many nations.

Gen 17:15  And Elohim said to Aḇraham, “As for Sarai your wife, do not call her name Sarai, for Sarah is her name.

Gen 17:24  And Aḇraham was ninety-nine years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.

Gen 21:5  And Aḇraham was one hundred years old when his son Yitsḥaq was born to him.

Luke 1:
ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܡܢ ܒܢܝ ܝܣܪܝܠ ܢܦܢܐ ܠܘܬ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܗܘܢ
16 And many from the sons of IysraIyl {Israel} he will turn towards MarYa Alahhun {The Lord-YHWH, their God}.

17 And he will go before Him in the rukha {the spirit}, and in the khayla {the power} of EliYa Nabiya {Elijah, the Prophet}, so that he might turn the heart of the abahe {the fathers}, to the banaya {the sons}, and unto those who are not persuaded, unto the iydatha d’Kinee {the knowledge of the Just One}, and he will prepare a gamiyra Ama {a perfect People} for MarYa {The Lord-YHWH}.

Coming back to Luke 1:17, the verse in Malachi 4 reads as heart of the sons to their fathers

This portion reads as follows in various NT translations

Kjv: and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just;

TS2009: and the disobedient to the insight of the righteous

Peshitta: and unto those who are not persuaded, unto the iydatha d’Kinee {the knowledge of the Just One}

Bayitha Mashiyach translation: and the wayward into the understanding of the righteous,

First we need to understand why the heart of the fathers shall be turned to the sons. To understand this better in Hebrew, the word ‘shub’ means ‘turn’ but the word there is ‘שיב/shayab’ which means restore/reconciled

A simple illustration would be where both the words used in one scripture:

Lev25:27 then he shall calculate the years of its sale and restore/shayab שיב the balance to the man to whom he sold it to him, and shall return/shab שב to his property.

So the heart of the fathers are restored/reconciled to the sons. The verse in Malachi should read:

Mal 4:6  “And he shall reconcile/שיב the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the heart of the sons to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with utter destruction.

Here the heart/leb is singular for both the fathers and the sons whilst the fathers and sons is plural.

The renewed covenant spiritualizes the reconciliation, if the first part of the verse says the heart of the fathers are reconciled or restored to the sons , then it goes on to say the heart of the sons to the fathers are also reconciled or restored.  And the Khabouris Peshitta gives an apt translation to show who the fathers and sons represent.

The Aramaic word דנףנא (danapna) means ‘to recover ones senses’ or to do something again or payback. It’s just like the prodigal son who came to his senses and decided to go back to his fathers house.

The verse reads as :

Luke 1:17 And he will go before Him in the rukha {the spirit}, and in the khayla {the power} of EliYa Nabiya {Elijah, the Prophet}, so that he might restore the heart of the abahe {the fathers}, to the banaya {the sons}, and unto those who are not persuaded, unto the iydatha d’Kinee {the knowledge of the Just One}, and he will prepare a gamiyra Ama {a perfect People} for MarYa {The Lord-YHWH}.

In the verse when looked closely the problem is not with the fathers but the sons. Here is a spiritual perspective:

If you notice the word ‘laba’ translated as ‘heart’ (leb/לב in Hebrew) is singular whilst the fathers is in plural and this is because the fathers are fathers of belief to whom the oral Torah came from the JUST FATHER and their hearts are United as ONE to serve Yahuah completely, moreover,  they are reflecting His relationship with the sons, whereas those not persuaded are the sons whose heart (לב) is also ONE in rebellion but in the path to be persuaded. The Peshitta, Greek and Hebrew translations don't include the singular heart (leb) for the sons but it’s there in the Malachi text.

Psalms 68: 18  You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive, You have received gifts among men, And even the rebellious, That Yah Elohim might dwell there.

Looking at the Peshitta text one would ask the question 'Now you will say how do you know the sons will be persuaded?'' It’s because the last part of the verse says “… and he will prepare a gamiyra Ama {a perfect People} for MarYa {The Lord-YHWH}”

Hence, the renewed covenant gives a ruachoth/spiritual perspective of the restoration of the HEART of the fathers of belief  to the HEART of now persuaded sons and the HEART of the many not persuaded sons (on the path to be persuaded) restored to the fathers of belief in the knowledge of the JUST ONE who is Yahusha ha Mashiyach. This is the only sensible interpretation and the ‘heart/לב’ is singular for both the fathers and the sons (for sons we pick it up from the Malachi text). The problem of rebellion lies with the sons and not the fathers. The fathers of belief are the ones who set the example to the sons.

The knowledge of the JUST ONE, the Aramaic Peshitta calls out is Yahusha ha Mashiyach who is at both ends as EVERLASTING FATHER and in between as the SON in a mediator role. If you closely understand the exposition of Malachi 4:6 in comparison to Luke 1:17, you will see this profound truth. The words highlighted below are the singular leb/heart for the plural fathers and the plural sons.

Mal 4:6  והשׁיב לב־אבות על־בנים ולב בנים על־אבותם פן־אבוא והכיתי את־הארץ חרם׃

Once we have understood the promise made to Abraham in the fullness (מלאת/circumcised words) of days after days/ימים yamyam , the Son came forth from the Father brought forth of a woman under Torah we will be able to see that He is the same Yahuah manifest as the JUST ONE. The knowledge of Him would reveal that when He would appear, the ruach of AlaYahu would prepare the WAY/DEREK for him in the wilderness as it was prophesied “the Voice/קול qol of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of Yahuah”

Joh 1:23  He said, “I am a voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way/derek of יהוה,’ Isa 40:3 as the prophet Yeshayahu said.”

This prophetic voice would reconcile the heart of the JUST FATHER to the persuaded sons, and the heart of the not persuaded sons will be persuaded and restored in the SON to the JUST FATHER where both Peshitta terms the Father and Son as 'the knowledge of the Just One'

2Co 4:6  For Elohim, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” is the One who has shone in our hearts for the enlightening of the knowledge of the esteem of Elohim in the face of יהושע Messiah.

To bring many sons to esteem, the Son being in the form of Aluahym did not consider it robbery to be equal to Aluahym but being found in the form of man, he made Himself of no reputation and chose servanthood even to the point of death.

Php 2:6  who, being in the form of Elohim, did not regard equality with Elohim a robbery

Php 2:7  but emptied Himself, taking the form of a servant, and came to be in the likeness of men.

Php 2:8  And having been found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, death even of a stake.

We saw what Gal 4:4 means

Gal 4:4 says Yahusha as the Son came under the Torah

Gal 4:5  to redeem those who were under Torah, in order to receive the adoption as sons.

Hence as the mediator He spoke with the Ruach of Sonship to grant us the adoption as sons. Everything that Yahuah is, the Son is, as everything has been handed over to the Son so that in the Sonship everything is restored/reconciled

Joh 5:19  Therefore יהושע responded and said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son is able to do none at all by Himself, but only that which He sees the Father doing, because whatever He does, the Son also likewise does.

Joh 5:20  “For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all that He Himself does. And greater works than these He is going to show Him, in order that you marvel.

Joh 5:21  “For as the Father raises the dead and makes alive, even so the Son makes alive whom He wishes.

Joh 5:22  “For the Father judges no one, but has given all the judgment to the Son,

Joh 5:23  that all should value the Son even as they value the Father. He who does not value the Son does not value the Father who sent Him.

Mat 11:27  “All have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and he to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him.

The Unitarians will never understand why He speaks in 2 tenses unless they are willing to see everything being reconciled in the SONSHIP where the FATHER is in FULLNESS

Heb 2:13  And again, “I shall put My trust in Him.” And again, “See, I and the children whom Elohim gave Me.

'' I shall put my trust in Him'' is the persuaded state of the sons in the SON and "See, I and the children who Aluahym gave me" is the transition to the FATHER. Here we see Yahusha identifying Himself as "I" (the Father) and the children (sons of the Father) whom Aluahym gave Me (given how? by decree)

The verse is from YashaYahu 8:18

Isa8:18 Behold, I and the children whom Yahuah has given me are for signs (authoth) and for wonders/mupathyam in Yisra’El from Yahuah of hosts, who dwells on Mount Tsion.

auth: is a mark of agreement between two parties

Mupath: means an amazing sight or event as a piercing

The children given to Yahusha is an agreement by decree so that the heart of the sons be persuaded to be restored/reconciled to the FATHER, and the FATHER cannot be found anywhere else except in the SON in whose obedience the persuasion is completed and we transitioned.

Hence, Yahusha speaks the same language of the Father to Son decrees or oracles given before the written Torah came, the letter kills but the Ruach gives life. Shalum!
