Key of David

Rev 3:7 “And to the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: These things say he who is Set-Apart, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one shall shut, and who shuts and no one opens:”
Rev 3:8 “I know your deeds. Behold, I have set before you an open door which no one can shut it, for you have a little strength, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name
Rev 3:9 “Behold, I shall make them of the kenesseth/synagogue of hasatan, who say that they are Yahudim and are not, but do lie; behold, I shall make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”

Yahusha ha Mashiyach is quoting the prophecy of YashaYahu in His message to the assembly in Philadelphia shows how he was hidden in the prophecy and that what was spoken and recorded was about him. In the first blush meaning of understanding prophecy it is speaking of Elyaqim son of Hilqiyahu but how he steps in is the great unfolding of the mystery

Isa 22:15 Thus says My Adon (Master) Yahuah of hosts, Go, come to this steward/sakan H5532, even to Shebna, who is over the house,
Isa 22:16 What do you have here/pahand whom do you have here/pah, that you have hewn a tomb for yourself here, you who hew his tomb on high, and that carve out an habitation for himself Yahuah hurls you with a hurling, O man, and He grasps you with a graspng.
Isa 22:18 Whirling His shall surely whirl you like a ball into the broad land of sides. You shall die there, and there your glorious chariots shall be the disgrace of the house of your master.
Isa 22:19 I shall depose you from your office, and I shall pull you down from your station.
Isa 22:20  ‘And it shall be in that day, that I shall call My servant Elyaqim son of Ḥilqiyahu.
Isa 22:21  ‘And I shall put your robe on him, and strengthen him with your girdle, and give your authority into his hand. And he shall be a father to the inhabitants of Yerushalayim and to the house of Yehuḏah.
Isa 22:22  ‘And I shall place the key of the house of Dawiḏ on his shoulder. And he shall open, and no one shuts; and shall shut, and no one opens.
Isa 22:23  ‘And I shall fasten him like a peg in a steadfast place, and he shall become a throne of esteem to his father’s house.
Isa 22:24  ‘And they shall hang on him all the weight of his father’s house, the offspring and the offshoots, all vessels of small quantity, from the cups to all the jars.
Isa 22:25  ‘In that day,’ declares יהוה of hosts, the peg that is fastened in the steadfast place shall be removed and be cut down and fall, and the burden that was on it shall be cut off. For יהוה has spoken.''

In the days of Hezekiah, king of Yahudah, there was a steward/sakan in the king’s service whose name was Shebna. Out of an inflated sense of prominence Shebna had carved for himself a magnificent tomb from solid rock—a custom usually reserved for royalty. The word pah is translated as 'here' which shows he made the tomb among the tombs of the kings of Yahudah.

When YashaYahu learned of the deed, he approached the corrupt sakan translated as steward or treasurer and rebuked him.The prophet informed Shebna that Yahuah would cast him out, and there he would die and that he would be replaced by Elaykim son of ChilqiYahu.

Shebna H7644 : from an unused root means 'to grow' but the word 'shab' rooted in his name means to take seat, ban rooted means the son, banah rooted means to build. Through his name we see 'Him taking the seat of the son in building'

2Ki 19:2 And he sent את eth-Elyaqiym, which was over the household, and Shebnah H7644 the scribe/saphar H5602, and את eth-the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Yesha`yahu the prophet the son of Amots.

In 2 Kings 19:2 he is mentioned as being one of the saphar which is translated as scribe

saphar H5608 (samek pey and resh) means to count, to number, to rehearse, to declare, from a primitive root which means to score with a mark as a tally or record

When we look at the same verse it says of Elyaqiym that he was over the household/bayith H1004

2Ki 19:2 And he sent את eth-Elyaqiym, which was over the household H1004, and Shebnah the scribe/saphar H5602, and את eth-the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Yesha`yahu the prophet the son of Amots.

Elayqiym is described of being over the bayth/house

His name Elyaqam H471 means 'My Alahym/H410 will rise/qum H6965' : AlayQum

He & Shebna along with Yoah were of them who rent their clothes when they heard the threat of Rabshakeh (2Kings 18:37), they were of them who wore sackcloth and were sent to Yashayahu the nabi with the message of Sennacharib.

Isa 22:23 I shall drive him like a peg/yathad (yod tau dalet) in a firm/aman (alaph mem nun) place/maqum H4725, and he shall become a throne of glory to his father’s house.
Isa 22:24 So they shall hang on him all the glory of his father’s house, offspring and issue, all smaller vessels, from vessels of bowls to all the vessels of the jars.
Isa 22:25 In that day, declares Yahuah of hosts, the peg/yathad is driven in a firm/aman place/maqum H4725 shall be removed H4185 mush, and be cut down gada H4138 and fall/naphal H5307, and the burden/massa H4853 that was on it shall be cut off/karath H3772, for Yahuah has spoken.

The word maqum H4725 has the same root word qum in Elayqum and means 'to rise' where mem is the waters. The picture is of going down deeply rooted to rise up

The word  H4185 mush and translated as removed comes from the root word mash as masha which means draw out/withdraw
The word gada H4138 which means cut down also means to cut down into two
The word massa H4853 translated as burden also means to carry away/uplifting/load
The word karath H3772 means to cut off a body part as cutting the pieces and passing between them

Speaking of the tabernacle of Daud being raised/qum up the emissary Yaqoob ties it with the coming in of the gentiles/guym into the fold who are the lost sheep of the house of Yasharal. Hence, when we look at the YashaYahu passages we see the peg/yathed which was driven in a firm/aman place/maqum woud be cut down in two/gada and fall/naphal and the load/massa which was on it would be cut in two pieces/karath

While the verse seems to be negative in the first blush reading of it, we see the surety which came to David that his throne would be established forever came as a promise, the word yathed pointed to the yod tau dalet where the hands impaled to the stake will secure the doorway i.e. by the death of the testator it would bring the renewed covenant into force by which the fallen tabernacle of David would be lifted up again transitioning into the spiritual.

David: Dalet/Doorway uau/peg Dalet/Doorway

Amos 9:11 In that day I shall raise/aqim H6965 up the booth of Dawid that has fallen/naphal H5307, and wall up its breaches; I shall raise up its ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old;

Acts 15:16 “After this I shall return and I shall rebuild the tabernacle of Dawid which has fallen, and I shall rebuild its ruins, and I shall restore it,”

Acts 15:17 “so that the remnant of mankind may seek Yahuah, even all the gentiles on whom My name has been called on them, said Yahuah, who is doing all this,”

While all eyes was on his physical seed sitting on his throne, his seed kept falling but Yahuah watched over His promise as dividing the pieces of the flesh in covenanting with David's house tying it to the Abrahamic covenant, while all eyes were on the divided houses (like pieces of flesh) of Yasharal and Yahudah, the fire that went through them was Yahuah Himself. The promise that out of his lineage would come a ruler who would sit on his throne forever and that ruler is Yahusha ha Mashiyach through whom the physical tabernacle of David which was fallen down due to the divided pieces of flesh was now lifted up to be transitioned into the Ruach in Mashiyach when all the lost sheep of the house of Yasharal come back into the fold.

Gen 15:9 So He said to him, Bring for Me a three year old heifer, and a three year old female goat, and a three year old ram, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon.

Gen 15:10 Then he brought all these to Him and cut them in two, and laid each piece against one other; but he did not cut the birds/tsippor H6833.
Gen 15:11 The birds of prey came down upon the carcasses, and Abram drove/yashab them away.
Gen 15:12 Now it was, when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, terror and great darkness fell upon him.
Gen 15:13 He said to Abram, Know for certain that your stranger shall be your seed in a land that is not theirs, and they shall serve them. And they shall afflict them four hundred years.
Gen 15:14 But I shall also judge the nation whom they shall serve, and afterward they shall come out with many possessions.
Gen 15:15 You shall go to your fathers in peace; you shall be buried at a good old age
Gen 15:16 Then in the fourth generation they shall return here, for the iniquity of the Emorite/Amary H567 is not yet complete until now.
Gen 15:17 It came about when the sun had set, that it was dark, and behold, a smoking oven and a flaming torch which passed between these pieces.

The word yashab in Gen 15:11 is translated as 'drove away' but the word means to sit, to be set, dwell and this shows he sat besides those pieces keeping away the birds of prey over them until a time he was in deep sleep and Yahuah took over as the smoking oven and flaming torch passing through those pieces

While we know Yahuah spoke of Abraham's seed in Mitsryite bondage and their deliverance happened, the prophecy is dual as its written ''Out of Mitsrayim I called my Son'' in relation to Yahusha ha Mashiyach. (Matthew 2:15)

Hence, the fourth generation/dor in Gen 15:16 also shows Yasharal driven to the ends of the earth, dor in Abary also means circle in H1754 i.e. to move in a circle. From the circle the four corners he would bring back the seed of Abraham into His inheritance.

The word 'Amary' H567 comes from the word 'amar' H559 which means spoke/told/said/utter and 'amary' means 'a sayer'. The sayer here stands for the false prophets who have occupied the place and they will be cast away when their iniquity is full.

Coming back to the tombs of the kings of Yahudah, only wicked kings of Yahudah did not make it to the tombs of David

2Chr 21:16 And Yahuah stirred up against Yahuram the spirit of the Philistines and the Arabs who were beside the hand of the Ethiopians;

2Chr 21:17 and they came against Yahudah and invaded it, and carried away all the possessions found in the king’s house, with his sons also, and his wives, so that no son was left to him except Yahuachaz, the youngest of his sons.
2Chr 21:18 And after all this Yahuah smote him in his bowels by disease for which there was no healing.
2Chr 21:19 And it came about from days to days, and as the time went out, at the end of two years of days, that his bowels fell out because of his sickness and he died of painful disease. And his people made no burning for him like the burning of his fathers.
2Chr 21:20 He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Yerushalam eight years; and he departed without desired, and they buried him in the city of Dawid, but not in the tombs of the kings.

Though Manasseh turned from his evil ways completely to follow Yahuah yet he was not buried in the tombs of the kings but in his own house garden. 2Kings 21:18 records he was buried in the garden of Uzza.

2Chr 33:20 And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house. And Amon his son became king instead of him.

2Ki 21:18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza, and Amon his son became king instead of him

His son Amon who also was wicked was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza and not in the tombs of the kings of Yahudah

2Ki 21:26 And he (Amon) was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza, and YoshiYahu his son became king instead of him.

Scripture mentions that King David was buried in the City of David, which is located at the foot of the Temple Mount. We know from scriptures  that some of the kings were buried in a place called the Garden of Uzza- but its location was not identified to this day.

2Chr 28:27 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Yerushalam, for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Yisra’El; and ChizeqiYahu his son reigned instead of him.

While righteous kings were buried in the tombs of the kings of Yahudah, we see the example of YoshiYahu who died in battle and he was carried back to be buried in the tombs of the kings of his fathers i.e. kings of Yahudah. But 2Kings 23:30 says he was buried in his own tomb. Is there a contradiction? No not at all. We saw Shebna while he was still alive made his tomb ready out of the rock among the tombs of the kings of Yahudah which was a custom of the kings. Yoshiyahu would have also being a king got his own tomb prepared while he was alive and while 2 Chr 35:24 says that he was buried in the tombs of his fathers, 2Kings 23:30 records he was buried in his own tomb but doesn't give us the additional information that this tomb was among the kings of Yahudah.

2Chr 35:23 And the archers shot at King YoshiYahu, and the king said to his servants, Take me away, for I am badly wounded.
2Chr 35:24 And his servants took him out of the chariot and carried him in the second chariot which he had, and brought him to Yerushalam where he died and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. And all Yahudah and Yerushalam mourned for YoshiYahu.

2Ki23:30 And his servants made him ride dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Yerushalam and buried him in his own tomb. And the people of the land took Yahuachaz the son of YosiYahu and anointed him and made him king instead of his father.

We can also see this in 2 Chr 16:13-14 where king Asa before his death had made a tomb for himself and he was buried in that tomb in his death

2Chr 16:13 And Asa slept with his fathers, and died in the forty-first year of his reign.

2Chr 16:14 And they buried him in his own tomb which he had cut out for himself in the city of Dawid, and they laid him in the bed which he had filled with sweet odors and kinds of aromatic herbs, with a mixture of ointments by art; and they made a very great burning for him.

Kings of Yahudah:

Buried in City of David doesn't mean a king attained to the tombs of kings of Yahudah, as we see a pattern of wicked/evil kings not attaining to it

David: Son of Yishai and 1st king who ruled over Yasharal. There were no 2 kingdoms/houses in his reign

2Sam 5:9 So Dawid lived in the stronghold and called it the city of Dawid. And Dawid built round about from the Millo and inward.

Millo is mentioned as the boundary of David's construction while building up the City of David after the capture of Yerusalem from the Yebusites.[ The New King James Version identifies Millo as literally "The Landfill", while the New International Version translates it to "supporting terraces". It is translated as "the citadel", in the LXX. It was already existing when David conquered Yerushalam as read in 2 Sam 5:9. He extended it to the right and left, thus completing the defence of the city. It was rebuilt by Solomon ( 1 Kings 9:15 1 Kings 9:24 ; 11:27 ) and repaired by Hezekiah ( 2 Chronicles 32:5 ).

1Ki 9:15 Now this is the reason of the forced labor which King Shelomoh raised, to build the house of Yahuah, his own house, the Millo, the wall of Yerushalam, Chatsor, Megiddo, and Gazer.

1Ki 9:24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the city of Dawid to her house which Shelomoh had built for her, then he built the Millo.

1Ki 11:27 Now this was the cause that he/Yaroboam lifted up his hand against the king: Shelomoh built the Millo, and closed up the breach of the city of his father Dawid.

2Chr 32:5 And he took courage and built all the wall that had been broken down and raised it up to towers, and another outside wall and strengthened the Millo in the city of Dawid, and made weapons and shields in great number.

Hence, everything within this wall or fortress named Millo was the city of David.
1Ki2:10 Then Dawid slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of Dawid.

Shelemoh; Son of David who ruled over all Yasharal. There were no 2 kingdoms/houses in his reign

1Ki11:43 And Shelomoh slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of his father Dawid, and his son Rechoboam reigned in his place

Since, David and Shelemoh ruled over both the houses and the houses were not split yet they are identified as kings over Yasharal.

Kings of Yahudah:

1.Rehoboam: Shelemoh's son in whose reign the kingdom of Yasharal split from
Yahudah     2 Chr 12:16 And Rechoboam slept with his fathers and was buried in the city of Dawid; and his son AbiYah became king instead of him

1Ki 14:31 And Rechoboam slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of Dawid; and his mother’s name was Naamah the Ammonitess. And Abiyam his son became king in his place.

2.Abiyah (or Abijam or Abia): Son of Rehoboam.

2Chr 14:1 So AbiYah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of Dawid, and his son Asa became king instead of him. The land was quiet for ten years during his days.

1Ki15:8 And Abiyam slept with his fathers and they buried him in the city of Dawid; and Asa his son became king in his place.

3.Asa
: son of Abijah. 2Chr 16:14
And they buried him in his own tomb which he had cut out for himself in the city of Dawid, and they laid him in the bed which he had filled with sweet odors and kinds of aromatic herbs, with a mixture of ointments by art; and they made a very great burning for him.

4.Yehoshaphat:
Son of Asa. 2Chr 21:1
And Yahushaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of Dawid, and Yahuram his son became king instead of him.

1Ki22:50 And Yahushaphat slept with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of his father Dawid, and Yahuram his son reigned in his place.

'City of his father David' given an indication he was buried in the tombs of the kings of Yahudah

5.Yehoram (or Joram): Son of Jehoshaphat; husband of Athaliah.

2Chr21:20 He was thirty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Yerushalam eight years; and he departed without desired, and they buried him in the city of Dawid, but not in the tombs of the kings.

6. Achazyahu: Son of Jehoram and Athaliah.

2Chr22:9 And he sought AchazYahu, and they caught him while he was hiding in Shomron; they brought him to Yahu, put him to death and buried him. For they said, He is the son of Yahushaphat, who sought Yahuah with all his heart. So there was no one of the house of AchazYahu to retain the power of the kingdom.

2 Chr 22:9(not mentioned that he was buried in the tombs of kings of Yahudah), he couldn't have been as he was killed in Shomeron by Yehu which falls in Yasharal border where he had come to meet Yehoram and went to make war with Yehu.

7.Athaliah: Daughter of King Ahab of Israel and Jezebel; wife of Jehoram; only queen to occupy the throne of Yahudah. Only queen to rule Yahudah after she killed all heirs to the throne, reigned for 6 years and was killed by the troops when Yoash the other son of Ahazyah was hidden and nourished for 6 years without her knowledge. There is no question of her being buried in the tombs of the kings of Yahudah

8.Yoash (or Jehoash): Son of Ahazyah and Zibia.

2Ki 12:21 For Yozabad the son of Shimeath and Yahuzabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of Dawid, and AmatsYah his son became king instead of him

2Chr24:25 And when they had departed from him (for they left him very sick), his own servants conspired against him because of the blood of the son of Yahuyada the priest, and murdered him on his bed. So he died, and they buried him in the city of Dawid, but they did not bury him in the tombs of the kings.

9. Amazyah/AmatsYahu: Son of Yoash.

2 Chr 25:28 buried him with his fathers phrase has to be understood as evil fathers who did not attain to the tombs of kings of Yahudah

2Chr 25:27 And from the time that AmatsYahu turned away from following Yahuah they made a conspiracy against him in Yerushalam, and he fled to Lakish; but they sent after him to Lakish and killed him there.

2Chr 25:28 And they brought him on horses and buried him with his fathers in the city of Yahudah.

2Ki14:20 And they brought him on horses and he was buried at Yerushalam with his fathers in the city of Dawid.

10.Uzziyah (or AzarYah): Son of Amazyah.

2Ki15:7 And AzarYah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of Dawid, and Yotham his son became king instead of him.

2Chr 26:23 So UzziYahu slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the grave which belonged to the kings, for they said, He is a leper. And Yotham his son became king instead of him.

This again shows he was buried elsewhere than the tombs of the kings of Yahudah, a field for the kings in the City of David

11.Yotham: son of Uzziyah.

2Ki15:38 And Yotham slept with his fathers, and he was buried with his fathers in the city of Dawid his father; and Achaz his son became king instead of him. The phrase added David his father shows he attained to the tombs of the kings

2 Chr 27:9 Yotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Ahaz his son reigned in his place.

12. Achaz: Son of Yotham.

2Ki 16:20 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of Dawid; and his son ChizeqiYahu reigned instead of him.

2Chr28:27 And Achaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city, in Yerushalam, for they did not bring him into the tombs of the kings of Yisra’El; and ChizeqiYahu his son reigned instead of him

13.Hezekiah: Son of Ahaz; husband of Hephzi-Bah.

2Ki 20:21 So ChizeqiYahu slept with his fathers, and Manasseh his son became king instead of him.

2Chr 32:33 And ChizeqiYahu slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the upper section of the tombs of the sons of Dawid; and all Yahudah and the inhabitants of Yerushalam did him honor at his death. And his son Manasseh became king instead of him

14.Manasseh: Son of Hezekiah and Hephzi-Bah.

2Ki21:18 And Manasseh slept with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza, and Amon his son became king instead of him.

2Chr33:20 ..And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house

15.Amon: Son of Manasseh.

2Ki 21:26 And he was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza, and YoshiYahu his son became king instead of him.

2 Chronicles doesn't mention about his burial

16.Yosiah : Son of Amon.

2Chr 35:24 And his servants took him out of the chariot and carried him in the second chariot which he had, and brought him to Yerushalam where he died and was buried in the tombs of his fathers. And all Yahudah and Yerushalam mourned for YoshiYahu.

2Ki 23:30 And his servants made him ride dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Yerushalam and buried him in his own tomb. And the people of the land took Yahuachaz the son of YosiYahu and anointed him and made him king instead of his father.

Here we reconcile that just as it was the custom of kings of Yahudah to make their tombs while they were still alive we see Yosiah was buried in the tombs of his father his own tomb being in reference to the one he made for himself

17.Yehoahaz (or Yoahaz): Son of Yosiah.

2Ki23:33 And Pharaoh Neco imprisoned him at Riblah in the land of Chamath, that he might not reign in Yerushalam; and he put on the land a fine of an hundred talents of silver and a talent of gold.
2Ki23:34 And Pharaoh Nekoh made Elyaqim the son of YosiYahu king instead of YosiYahu his father, and changed his name to Yahuyaqim. But he took Yahuachaz away and he came to Mitsrayim, and he died there.

18.Yehoiakim: Son of Yosiah died in Babel.

2Chr36:6 Nebukadnetsar king of Babel came up against him and bound him with bronze chains to take him to Babel.

2Chr36:8 And the rest of the acts of Yahuyaqim and the abominations which he did, and what was found against him, behold, they are written in the scroll of the kings of Yisra’El and Yahudah. And Yahuyakin his son became king instead of him.
19.Yehoiachin: Son of Yehoiakim, died in Babel.

2Chr36:10 And at the turn of the year King Nebukadnetsar sent and brought him to Babel with the valuable articles of the house of Yahuah, and he made his brother TsideqiYahu king over Yahudah and Yerushalam.

20.Zedekiah/TsideqiYahu: Son of Yosiah; kingdom overthrown by Babylonians under Nebuchadnezzar

Jer 52:11 Then he blinded the eyes of TsideqiYahu; and the king of Babel bound him with bronze fetters and brought him to Babel and put him in a house of prison until the day of his death.

With this testimony when we go back to Shebna who was a scribe and treasurer over the house of David standing before king Hezekiah who was a descendant of David, in probably self righteousness built a tomb for himself while he was alive 'here' as it says referring to the place the house of David where he was a treasurer and possessed the key of David. He was ousted from his office for this and the key given to Elayqum and he was told he will not be buried in the tomb he built but will be cast away.

Isa 22:16 What do you have here, and whom do you have here, that you have hewn a tomb for yourself here, you who hew his tomb on high, and that carve out an habitation for himself in the rock?
Isa 22:17 Behold, Yahuah hurls you with a hurling, O man, and He grasps you with a graspng.
Isa 22:18 Whirling His shall surely whirl you like a ball/dur H1754 or circle into the broad/rachab H7342 land of the earth/erets H776. You shall die there, and there your glorious chariots shall be the disgrace of the house of your master.

Why the tombs of the kings of Yahudah were so important in the eyes of Yahuah?

Acts 2:25 “For David says of Him, I foresaw Yahuah always before me, because He is at My right hand, in order that I shall not be shaken.”

Acts 2:26 “Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was exulted; also my flesh also shall dwell in surety,”
Acts 2:27 “because You shall not leave my soul in Sheol (the grave), nor shall You give Your kindness to see corruption.”
Acts 2:28 “You have made known to me the ways of life, You shall fill me with joy in Your presence.”
Acts 2:29 “Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you as with the heart of the patriarch Dawid that he died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.”
Acts 2:30 “Being a prophet, then, and knowing that the Elohim had sworn with an oath to Him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Mashiyach to sit on His throne,”
Acts 2:31 “therefore, foreseeing from a distance he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Mashiyach, that His soul was neither left in Sheol (the grave) nor also did His flesh see corruption.”

Ps 16:8 I have set Yahuah continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Ps 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also shall dwell securely.
Ps 16:10 For You shall not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor shall You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.

Quoting David from Psalms 16 Kepha speaks whom he foresaw...in Acts 2:25 he says he foresaw Yahuah always before him and in verse 31 Kepha says therefore, foreseeing from a distance he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Mashiyach, that His soul was neither left in Sheol (the grave) nor also did His flesh see corruption.”

In verse 29 Kepha speaks of David being dead and his TOMB with us TO THIS DAY and being a prophet he knew that Yahuah spoke about the one coming from his loins whose soul will not be abandoned in Sheol and his flesh will not undergo decay, and with this hope his(David's) flesh will dwell securely.

Yahuah watched over the tombs to show that only the righteous kings went there whereas the wicked kings didn't attain to the tombs of the kings to attain the rest in Mashiyach. The Scriptures show that David and just few of the 20 kings of Yahudah that followed him were buried in the City of David in “the burial places of the kings while the rest didn't find the place in the tombs of the kings.

We get a clue that David made this custom and we will see this in a while

Where were the tombs of the kings of Yahudah?

Neh 3:15 And Shallum the son of Kal-chozeh, the ruler of the part of Mitspah, repaired the fountain gate. He built it, covered it and hung its doors with its bolts and its bars, and the wall of the pool of Shelah at the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of Dawid.

Neh 3:16 After him NechemYah the son of Azbuq, the ruler of half the part of Beyth-tsur, repaired in front of the tombs of Dawid, and to the pool that was made and to the house of the mighty men.

Nehemiah’s description shows that the tombs of David—and their entrance—lie on the eastern side of the City of David. They are described as being between the Fountain Gate and the Water Gate (near the aqueduct which king Hezekiah made), which is the next gate listed (verse 26). That still covers a large area. The tombs are located between the “stairs that go down”

Neh 3:26 And the temple servants were dwelling in Ophel repaired to the front of the water gate toward the east and the tower that sticks out.

Facing over David's tomb which was between the Fountain gate and the Water gate was Mount of Olives over the kidron valley

Hence, David prepared his tomb on the east side overlooking the kidron valley and south of  the city while he was alive which pattern the kings of Yahudah followed by making their own tombs on the eastern side of the wall, from this tomb he made which was near the upper pool he prophetically seeing towards the tabernacle towards the north and the Mount of Olives on his right hand said in Ps16:8 I have set Yahuah continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.Ps16:9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; My flesh also shall dwell securely
Ps16:10 For You shall not abandon my soul to Sheol; nor shall You allow Your Holy One to undergo decay.
Ps16:11 You shall make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fulness of joy; at Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

John 19:40 They took the body of `Yahusha and wrapped it in burial garments with the spices according to the custom of the Yahudim for burying the dead.

John1 9:41 In the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden was a new tomb in which no dead person had been placed in it until then.
John 19:42 They laid Yahusha there because it was the evening of Shabbat for the Yahudim, and the tomb was nearby

Matt 27:59 And Yoseph took the body and wrapped it in a pure linen garment.

Matt 27:60 He placed it in the new tomb that had hewn for him in the rock, rolled a large stone over the entrance of the tomb, and then he left

Did Yoseph of Ramathayim prepare the new tomb hewn out of the rock for himself or Mashiyach? Its interestin to see his name appears in all 4 basarah's.

This remains unexplained on for whom he prepared the tomb where no man was laid, but we get a clue from Mark 15:43  that he was one of them awaiting the kingdom of Aluahym and being a disciple of Yahusha and was a respected member of the council and Luke mentions he didn't go according to the plan and actions of the council to impale Mashiyach. Being a member of the council, He would had witnessed Yahusha as the king of Yahudah and knew the custom of the kings of Yahudah to hew out a tomb for themselves before their death. Yoseph also witnessed the questioning of Yahusha by the chief priest whether he was the King of the Yahudites and He had said ''You say I am''

Mark 15:43 Yoseph of HaRamathi came, a respected member of the council who was also awaiting for the kingdom of the Elohim; he strengthened himself and came to Pilatos, and he asked for the body of `Yahusha

Mark15:44 And Pilatos was amazed that He was dead, and he called to the ruler of the centurion and asked him if He had already dead
Mark15:45 He was informed from the mouth of the ruler of the centurion that it was so, and he gave His body as a gift to Yoseph.
Mark15:46 He purchased a sheet, took Him down, wrapped Him in the sheet, and placed Him in a tomb hewn in the rock, and rolled a stone over the entrance of the tomb.

Luke23:50 And, behold, a man named Yoseph, who was one of the counselors, a good and righteous man from the Ramatayim, a city of the Yahudim,

Luke23:51 who had not gone along with their plan or their actions. He was waiting for the kingdom of the Elohim.
Luke23:52 He approached Pilatos and asked him for the body of `Yahusha
Luke23:53 And he took it down and wrapped it in sheets, and he placed it in a tomb hewn into the rock where no man had been placed yet.

Coming back to Kepha, he quoted David from Psalms 16 when he said that he foresaw the resurrection of Mashiyach when he understood prophetically that the grave of Mashiyach which was on Mount of Olives would be empty as My Alahay would rise. This also ties up with Shebna which we saw where his name reveals him taking seat of the son in building was cast out and Elayqim whose name means 'My Alahym will rise' shows the resurrection of Mashiyach

We already saw Shebna H7644 : from an unused root to grow where 'shab' means to take seat, ban means the son, banah means to build. Through his name we see 'Him taking the seat of the son in building'

And that is why Yahusha tells the assembly of Philadelphia that He will make them of the synagogue of hashatan who say they are Yahudim and are not and are lying. The spiritual context is of them as Shebna are occupying the space in the kingdom of hashamayam and the opening and shutting of the door is in respect to this.

Rev 3:7 “And to the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: These things say he who is Set-Apart, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one shall shut, and who shuts and no one opens:”
Rev 3:8 “I know your deeds. Behold, I have set before you an open door which no one can shut it, for you have a little strength, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
Rev 3:9 “Behold, I shall make them of the kenesseth/synagogue of hasatan, who say that they are Yahudim and are not, but do lie; behold, I shall make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.”

Elayqim is said to be over the household everywhere he is mentioned and Shebna is mentioned as sakan translated as steward or treasurer as well as being over the household. So is there a contradiction when we read YashaYahu 22:15?

2Ki 18:37 Then Eliyaqim the son of ChilqiYah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe/saphar H5608 and Yoah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to ChizeqiYahu with their clothes torn and told him the words of the chief of the cupbearer.

Isa 22:15 Thus says My Adon (Master) Yahuah of hosts, Go, come to this steward/sakan H5532, even to Shebna, who is over the household/bayith

In 2Ki 18:37 Shebna is stated as being a scribe/saphar H56908, and in Yashayahu 22:15 he is termed as sakan/unprofitable H5532  over the household/baiyth H1004

The Abary word sakan H5532 is translated both positively as well as negatively

Translated as wont/unprofitable/ negatively in scripture & positively as profitable/cherish/acquaint

While some translations translate sakan as profitable/steward/treasurer it is negatively used for Shebna. The verse should read Isa 22:15 Thus says My Adon (Master) Yahuah of hosts, Go, come to this unprofitable/sakan H5532, even to Shebnawho is over the household/bayith H1004

Isa22:19 I shall depose you from your office, and I shall pull you down from your station.

Hence, he was deposed from his office as being over the household of David while he still was retained as the muster officer/saphar

Elayqim H471 means 'My Alahym/H410 will rise/qum H6965' : AlayQum

Hence, when we read of the account of the Rabshakeh coming to warn Hezekiah of the coming army of the Assyrians to capture them he is mentioned as being a scribe which indicates he was ousted from the office of the 'being over the household' while he still retained the office of the scribe/muster officer. This office shouldn't be confused with the scribes copying the dabar of Aluahym in making copies of them.

Isa 36:3 Then Eliaqim the son of ChilqiYahu, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Yoach the son of Asaph, the recorder, came out to him.

The Abary word for key is Mapatach H4668 and has the root word 'patach' H6607  which means door and spiritually the mem is the blood over that door

His father's name Chilqiyahu H2518 means 'Portion or allotment or inheritance/Chalaq H2518 of Yahu/H3050' : ChalaqYahu

'My Alahym will rise with inheritance of Yahu' This is what we can see in YashaYahu 22:20 and its fulfillment by Mashiyach.

He is the door /patach & The key/mapatach of Daud who stands as being Master over the household of David to the treasuries of the Ruach given to him in psalms/tehillim, songs/shiyr of ascents/malah which connect to Himself.

When we read Psalms we tend to skip the title of the Pslams and read just the verses but the titles are there for a reason and are dabar of Aluahym and we must understand what they mean in relation to the Psalms as it gives a deep insight to the cry the Psalmist makes to Yahuah. Some Psalms have 22 alaphbets of the Abary language giving a description of each letter in the verse.  Daud separated some of the sons of Asaph, Heman and Yeduthun to prophesy with lyres, with harps and with cymbals.

1Ch 25:1  And Dawiḏ and the commanders of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, and of Hĕman, and of Yeḏuthun, who should prophesy with lyres, with harps, and with cymbals. And the number of the workmen according to their service was:
1Ch 25:2  Of the sons of Asaph: Zakkur, and Yosĕph, and Nethanyah, and Ashar’ĕlah, the sons of Asaph at the hands of Asaph, who prophesied at the hands of the sovereign.
1Ch 25:3  Of Yeḏuthun, the sons of Yeḏuthun: Geḏalyahu, and Tseri, and Yeshayahu, Ḥashaḇyahu, and Mattithyahu, six, under the hands of their father Yeḏuthun, who prophesied with a lyre to give thanks and to praise יהוה.
1Ch 25:4  Of Hĕman, the sons of Hĕman: Buqqiyahu, Mattanyahu, Uzzi’ĕl, Sheḇu’ĕl, and Yerimoth, Ḥananyah, Ḥanani, Eliyathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Yoshbeqashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Maḥaziyoth.
1Ch 25:5  All these were the sons of Hĕman the sovereign’s seer in the words of Elohim, to exalt his horn. For Elohim gave Hĕman fourteen sons and three daughters.
1Ch 25:6  All these were at the hands of their father for song in the House of יהוה, with cymbals, harps and lyres, for the service of the House of Elohim: Asaph, Yeḏuthun, and Hĕman, at the hands of the sovereign.
1Ch 25:7  And the number of them, with their brothers who were taught in the songs of יהוה, all who were skilled, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

Daud/David had appointed some of the Leuites/Levites to serve before the ark when they brought the ark of the testimony from the house of Obed-Edom

1Ch 16:4  And he/David appointed some of the Lĕwites to serve before the ark of יהוה, to bring to remembrance, and to thank, and to praise יהוה Elohim of Yisra’ĕl:

1Ch 16:5  Asaph the chief, and his second Zeḵaryah, Yeʽi’ĕl, and Shemiramoth, and Yeḥi’ĕl, and Mattithyah, and Eliyaḇ, and Benayahu, and Oḇĕḏ-Eḏom, and Yeʽi’ĕl, with harps and lyres, but Asaph was sounding with cymbals;

Asaph was appointed as the chief among the musicians. The Psalms 'la manatsach biN’ginoth miz’mor l’Dawid' and many Psalms which says 'To the chief musician/overseer' were Psalms handed over to Asaph to regulate the singing and melody of it as sung by the appointed musicians and singers.

1Ch 16:7  And on that day Dawiḏ first gave thanks to יהוה by the hand of Asaph and his brothers:

Asaph was not only the chief overseer but also a prophet & Daud appointed him as the overseer of all the Leuites attending to making music unto Yahuah so much as so that even Daud who was one of the singers and writers of the songs dedicated the songs he sung and wrote to the chief overseer gave it in his hands.

2Ch 29:30  And Sovereign Ḥizqiyahu and the rulers ordered the Lĕwites to sing praise to יהוה with the words of Dawiḏ and of Asaph the seer. And they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

Now an overseer is not the recipient of worship just as the overseers in the assemblies in the Brit Chadashah were not owners of the assembly but servants of the assembly in guarding the flock against wolves. Similarly Asaph as an overseer was guarding the ministry of overseeing the melody and praises to Yahuah in the way it was revealed to the singer/musician attending before the ark.

The Overseer and bishop of our souls is Mashiyach who is the Adonay and through his name the psalms, hyms and spiritual songs melody ascends to Alahym our Father

Eph 5:19 speaking to one another in psalms/tahaluth and hymns/tashbachut and spiritual/ruachnayuth songs/shayaryuth, singing and making melody/zamru with your heart to my Master/Adonay;
Eph 5:20 always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Master Yahusha the Mashiyach to Elohim, and our Father;

The plan of the temple came from the Ruach to David and he described all of what was revealed to his son Shelemoh before his death

1Chr 28:11 Then Dawid gave to Shelomoh his son the pattern of the porch, its houses, its treasuries, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the house of the mercy seat;

1Chr 28:12 and the plan of all that he had by the Ruach with him, for the courts of the house of Yahuah, and for all the chambers round about, for the treasuries of the house of the Elohim and for the treasuries of the holy things

That's why Psalms always has to the Chief Musician which physically referred to Asaph & Yeduthun who were holding that office but that office makes way to Yahusha as the ascending/malah to the throne of favour is in HIM. The details of the order to be followed in worship, in music, in ministration to Yahuah, his decrees, 24 divisions of priests etc in the tabernacle, all was received by king David and was kept in his treasuries, the key which was accessible to Shebna and this is the meaning of being over the household/baiyth.

1Chr 24:3 and Dawid, with Tsadoq of the sons of Eleazar and Achimelek of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their offices for their ministry.

1Chr24:4 And were found more sons of Eleazar than the sons of Ithamar for heads of the men; and were thus they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen heads of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar, according to the house of their fathers.
1Chr24:5 Thus they were divided by lot, these with these; for they were officers of the sanctuary and officers of the Elohim,
1Chr24:6 And ShemaYah, the son of Nethan’El the scribe, from the Lewiim, recorded them in the presence of the king, the princes, Tsadoq the priest, Achimelek the son of Ebiathar, and the heads of the fathers of the priests and of the Lewiim; one father’s house taken for Eleazar and one taken for Ithamar.
1Chr24:7 Now the first lot came out for Yahuyarib, the second for YedaYah,
1Chr24:8 the third for Charim, the fourth for Seorim,
1Chr24:9 the fifth for MalkiYah, the sixth for Miyami
1Chr24:10 the seventh for Haqqots, the eighth for AbiYah,
1Chr24:11 the ninth for Yeshua, the tenth for ShekanYahu,
1Chr24:12 the eleventh for Eliashib, the twelfth for Yaqim,
1Chr24:13 the thirteenth for Chuppah, the fourteenth for Yeshebeab,
1Chr24:14 the fifteenth for Bilgah, the sixteenth for Immer,
1Chr24:15 the seventeenth for Chezir, the eighteenth for Happitssets,
1Chr24:16 the nineteenth for PhethachYah, the twentieth for Yechezq’El
1Chr24:17 the twenty-first for Yakin, the twenty-second for Gamul,
1Chr24:18 the twenty-third for DelaYahu, the twenty-fourth for MaazYahu.
1Chr24:19 These were their offices in their service to come into the house of JWJY according to their ordinance by the hand of Aharon their father, just as Yahuah the El of Yisra’El had commanded him.

2Chr23:8 So the Lewiim and all Yahudah did according to all that Yahuyada the priest commanded. And every man took his men who were to come in on the Shabbat, with those who were to go out on the Shabbat, for Yahuyada the priest did not dismiss the divisions.

Here we have evidence when Yahuyada stood in the reign of the 9th ruler from David maintaining these divisions when Baal worship was at its peak during wicked queen Athaliah's reign of 6 years, this shows he learnt the pattern which was recorded in the treasuries of the house of David.

Only 7 kings of Yahudah made it to the tombs made by them for themselves

  1. David
  2. Shelemoh
  3. Asa
  4. Yehoshapat
  5. Yotham
  6. Hezekiah
  7. Yosiah
The eighth being the Lion of Yahudah whose tomb was prepared beforehand by Yoseph of Ramathayim and whose tomb is empty. When Kepha said on day of Shavout quoting Psalms 16 he said our father David is dead and his tomb is with us till today and he had said that Yahuah is always before him and at his right hand and his flesh will rest in hope, for he will not leave his Qodesh one to see flesh rotting,  speaking about the resurrection of Mashiyach who was always before him as Yahuah. Remember, Yahuah had testified of David that he is a man after his own heart.

Rev 22:16 I, Yahusha, have sent My messenger to testify to you these things before the assemblies. I am the root and offspring of Dawid, the bright morning star.

Rev 1:18 “And I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. And I have by My hand the keys/mapatach of Sheol and of death.”

This key of David is for all who believe in Mashiyach is risen as they flesh will rest in hope of a resurrection and perfectness in Mashiyach

Matt 16:13 And it came about when Yahusha came into the region of Qeyasin of Philippos, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do the sons of men say about Me? Who is He, the Son of Adam?”
Matt 16:14 And they said, “Some say he is Yahuchanan the Immerser; and some say, EliYahu; and others say, YirmeYahu, or one of the prophets.”
Matt 16:15 And He said to them, “But as for you, who do you say about Me? Who am I?”
Matt 16:16 Simon Kepha answered and said, “You are the Mashiyach, the Son of the living Elohim.”
Matt 16:17 And He answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Shimeon bar-Yonah! For flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in the heavens.”
Matt 16:18 “And I also say to you that you are Kepha, and upon this rock I shall build My assembly; and the gates of Sheol shall not overpower it.”
Matt 16:19 “I shall give you the keys/mapatach of the kingdom of the heavens; and whatever you forbid on the earth shall be forbidden in the heavens, and whatever you permit on the earth shall be permitted in the heavens.
Matt 16:20 Then He commanded His disciples that they must not tell anyone that He was the Mashiyach.

The keys of the kingdom of heaven is understanding of the mystery of Mashiyach as revealed by the Ruach to Kepha which unfolds his revelation through the preaching of the basarah and also blinds the eye, permitting one to come within the fold or be cast out

John 10:7 Once more, Yahusha spoke to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door/patach of the sheep.”

Luk 2:34 And Shim`on blessed them, and said unto Miryam his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Yasharal; and for a sign which shall be spoken against;

There are so many roots in the word 'mapatach' which shows us the beautiful emanations relating to Yahusha ha Mashiyach. What stands out is the letter mem which stands for water/blood, in an emanation it shows the blood of Mashiyach on the door post Ma (Mem) Patach (Door) = Mapatach. He is the firstborn and because of Him the Angel of Death passes over the door causing no harm to the true Yahudi who is within the Covenant sealed by his blood ( 1Corin 5:7).

1Co 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are matstsah. (unleavened) For even MASHIACH our Pecach (Passover) is sacrificed for us:

The above image shows the words from words which divides and separate the ruach from the saphar. The Turah has the Ruach hidden in it who applies the water and the blood to the believer in quickening him/her to the living oracles of Yahuah.

While we live lowly in a pagan land we wait for the redemption of our bodies and just as scripture says Luke21:27 “Then they shall see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and with great glory.”Luke21:28 “When these things begin to come, rise up and lift up your heads/rashayam, for your redemption has come near!”
