The Open Field Shemitah Part 3: Yahusha's Invitation into the Open Field Shemitah & Eschatology

Introduction

The Open Field Shemitah is not an afterthought, a theological novelty, or a system that began with the earthly ministry of Yahusha Mashiyach. It is the eternal, overarching reality of divine provision that existed before the Torah, was preserved throughout the prophets, and consistently pointed to a cosmic fulfillment. From the moment mankind was expelled from the localized perfection of Eden into the open field of the world, Yahuah began embedding a specific prophetic blueprint across generations: He alone is the Sovereign Giver of increase, the Guardian of life, and the sole Keeper of the Covenant.

Throughout the generations of YasharEL, this pattern survived every catastrophic collapse of physical infrastructure. It survived absolute famine under Yoseph, where divine supply was pooled outside the borders of the land to preserve life. It survived the barren wilderness, where the lack of agricultural fields forced the nation to feed upon manna—the true Bread from Heaven. It was encoded into the structural safety nets of the Torah law via the gleanings left in the open field for the poor, the stranger, the widow, and the fatherless, finding its romantic apex when Boaz deliberately dropped handfuls of purpose for his redeemer’s bride. It sustained Eliyahu and the hidden remnant during an absolute, three-and-a-half-year drought of covenant corruption. Most profoundly, it manifested when King Hezekiah watched the land produce a supernatural abundance without human cultivation or sowing while the walls of Yerushalayim were totally surrounded by the Assyrian siege. Even the bitter seventy-year Babylonian exile stood as a fierce testimony that the land belongs strictly to Yahuah, who enforces its Sabbatical rests regardless of human occupancy.

None of these historical milestones, however, was a final destination. They were preparatory, prophetic shadows waiting for the ultimate convergence of all covenant patterns. When Yahusha Mashiyach arrived in the flesh, He did not create the Open Field Shemitah out of nothing; rather, He tore back the veil of agricultural symbols to reveal Himself as its total, living fullness.

The ancient indicators suddenly stood incarnate among men:

  • The Provider stood directly in the dust of His own creation.
  • The Bread from Heaven walked actively upon the earth.
  • The Adon of the Harvest stepped directly into His own field.
With His arrival, the invitation that had echoed in shadows from Eden was openly proclaimed to all who had ears to hear. The Open Field Shemitah was no longer confined to the physical yields of a terrestrial, geographic strip of land. It was now fully manifested in a living Person through whom all cosmic life, spiritual rest, supernatural abundance, and final redemption flow. The terminal, ultimate stage of the covenant had officially begun.

1. The Invitation Before the Judgment

When Yahusha Mashiyach appeared, He did not merely proclaim the Kingdom as an abstract concept. He announced that the appointed, prophetic era of the world had arrived. The One to whom every previous Sabbatical cycle and Jubilee pattern had pointed was now walking the earth. Yet, His ministry operated through two parallel, distinct proclamations that can never be separated: the Invitation and the Warning.

Luk 12:24 “Look at the ravens/overim, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor granary, and Elohim feeds them. How much more valuable are you than the birds/πετεινόν (peteinon)?

1. The lexical question: πετεινόν (peteinon)

In Greek, πετεινόν literally means "a flying creature" or "bird." In the Septuagint and the New Testament it normally refers to birds or winged creatures. By itself, it does not lexically mean "someone who flees into the wilderness."

So, if you argue that πετεινά means "wilderness dwellers," a Greek scholar will rightly object because that is not the dictionary meaning.

2. The typological question

Throughout Scripture, wings and flight frequently symbolize escape, protection, and movement into Yahuah's place of refuge.

For example:

  • Psalm 55:6–7 "Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness (midbar)."

Here, wings → flight → wilderness refuge.

  • Psalm 139:9–10 "If I take the wings of the morning... even there Your hand shall lead me."

Again, wings symbolize movement under Yahuah's guidance.

  • Revelation 12:14 "The woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness..."

This is perhaps the clearest biblical example.

The wings are not about ornithology.

They symbolize divine escape into the wilderness where Yahuah preserves His covenant people.

Open Field Shemitah pattern

Within the Open field Shemitah model, the symbolism becomes consistent:

  • EliYahu is sustained in the wilderness by Overim translated as ravens.
  • YasharEL is sustained in the wilderness by manna.
  • Yahusha teaches those who neither sow nor reap.
  • The woman flees into the wilderness.
  • The dove longs to fly into the wilderness.
  • Wings consistently depict movement into Yahuah's place of preservation.
The wilderness is the place where Yahuah Himself provides. Those who flee there cease from dependence on the world's agricultural economy and live by His direct provision.

Although πετεινόν literally means a flying creature or bird, Scripture repeatedly uses the imagery of wings and flight as symbols of fleeing into Yahuah's wilderness refuge (Psalm 55:6–7; Psalm 139:9–10; Revelation 12:14). Within the Open Field Shemitah, the birds become typological pictures of those whom Yahuah preserves in the wilderness apart from sowing and reaping.

The Pattern of Wilderness Provision

Both miraculous feedings occur in a desolate place (wilderness) where the people have no means of providing food for themselves.

The sequence is striking:

  • YasharEL in the wilderness → Manna from heaven (Exodus 16)
  • EliYahu in the wilderness → Yahuah provides food (1 Kings 17)
  • Yahusha feeds the 5,000 in a desolate place (Matthew 14; Mark 6; Luke 9; John 6)
  • Yahusha feeds the 4,000 in a desolate place (Matthew 15; Mark 8)

The common thread is:

No sowing. No reaping. No buying. No dependence on the world's agricultural economy. Yahuah Himself provides.

The Double Witness

Yahusha performs the miracle twice.

The disciples themselves recognize they are two distinct events (Mark 8:19–21):

"When I broke the five loaves among the five thousand...?"

"And the seven among the four thousand...?"

Yahusha deliberately reminds them of both miracles.

Throughout Scripture, a matter established by two witnesses carries legal confirmation (Deuteronomy 19:15).

The two wilderness feedings establish by double witness that Yahusha is the true Provider of the Open Field. As in the wilderness under Mosheh, the covenant people are sustained directly by Yahuah apart from sowing, reaping, or commercial exchange.

Mat 6:26 “Look at the birds/πετεινόν peteinon of the heaven, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into storehouses, yet your heavenly Father does feed them. Are you not worth more than they?

Yahusha is appealing to something His audience can literally observe in creation. So, the primary referent may sound actual birds but within the Open Field Shemitah, this statement is not merely an observation about wildlife. Yahusha is invoking a covenant pattern that has already been established throughout Scripture. The defining characteristics He gives are not about birds flying through the sky—they are agricultural:

  • They do not sow.
  • They do not reap.
  • They do not gather into storehouses.
  • Yet the Father sustains them.

This pattern appears repeatedly throughout Scripture.

1. YasharEL in the Wilderness

After leaving Mitsrayim, YasharEL entered the wilderness where they possessed no fields, planted no crops, harvested no grain, and filled no storehouses. Yet Yahuah rained down manna from heaven every day and supplied meat by sending quail into the camp.

The wilderness became the first great demonstration of the Open Field Shemitah: life sustained entirely by the provision of Yahuah.

2. Eliyahu in the Wilderness

During the famine, Eliyahu was removed from the normal economy of the land and hidden in the wilderness. There Yahuah sustained him apart from sowing and reaping. When that season ended, Yahuah continued His provision through the widow of Tzarephath, whose flour and oil did not fail.

Again, the covenant servant was preserved outside the world's agricultural system.

3. Obadiah and the Hidden Prophets

When Ayzebel sought to destroy the prophets of Yahuah, Obadiah hid one hundred prophets in caves and continually supplied them with bread and water (1 Kings 18:4, 13).

Even while hidden in the wilderness, Yahuah preserved His servants through His appointed provision.

4. David in the Wilderness

David fled from Shaul and dwelt for years in the wilderness. Though cut off from settled life and ordinary provision, Yahuah continually sustained David and the men who remained with him until the kingdom was given to him.

The wilderness became the place where the future king learned complete dependence upon Yahuah.

5. Yahusha Feeds the Multitudes

Twice Yahusha led the multitudes into a desolate place and fed them miraculously.

  • The feeding of the five thousand.
  • The feeding of the four thousand.

These two wilderness feedings establish a double witness that the true Shepherd of YasharEL is able to sustain His covenant people apart from sowing, reaping, buying, or storing.

The wilderness itself became an Open Field Shemitah.

6. The Woman in the Wilderness

In Revelation 12 the woman is given the wings of a great eagle and flees into the wilderness, where she is nourished by Elohim.

The pattern remains unchanged.

The wilderness is the place of divine preservation.

The Consistent Covenant Pattern where the Invitation to by Yahusha is not imitating the literal birds (birds of the air) but the 'birds of the heaven' i.e. the covenanted ones

From Mosheh to Eliyahu...

From David to the prophets...

From Yahusha to the woman in Revelation...

The pattern never changes.

Whenever Yahuah separates His covenant people from the world's economy, He becomes their direct Provider.

They neither sow.

They neither reap.

They neither gather into storehouses.

Yet their heavenly Father feeds them.

Thus, the "birds of the heavens" become an Open Field picture of covenant dependence upon Yahuah. The emphasis is not on earthly agriculture but on heavenly provision. Throughout Scripture, those whom Yahuah calls into the wilderness cease from trusting in the world's fields and instead live entirely by His faithful hand.

People stick to the literal birds seeing them as birds of the air and not birds of the heaven.

THE DUAL PROCLAMATION OF YAHUSHA
▼ THE INVITATION ▼▼ THE WARNING ▼
Rest for the wearyArmies surrounding the city
Abundance for the hungryAbsolute desolation of the House
Liberty for the captivesImmediate flight to the fields
Entering the Spiritual ShemitahWrath upon the carnal carcasses

His immediate invitation was one of unparalleled grace: He invited the heavy-laden into His absolute rest, He multiplied physical bread in open fields, He healed the broken, He brought in the outcasts, and He declared the acceptable year of the Master. But running parallel to this mercy was a strict, terrifying warning of impending covenant vengeance. He plainly stated that the terrestrial house had run out of time, and that the physical city of Yerushalayim would soon be surrounded by hostile, devastating armies.

“And when you shall see Yerushalayim compassed with armies, then know that its desolation is near.” (Luke 21:20)

This dual ministry mirrors every major covenant pivot point in the scriptures. Yoseph carefully mapped out and announced an era of supernatural abundance before the global famine struck. Eliyahu witnessed the heavens shut tight and abundance withdrawn due to institutional corruption, yet the spiritual remnant was miraculously fed. Hezekiah experienced the reality of the land feeding the city without sowing or reaping precisely when the enemy surrounded the gates.

In the exact same way, Yahusha proclaims the ultimate spiritual abundance of His Kingdom while simultaneously signing the death warrant of the earthly, carnal sanctuary. The divine pattern remains unbreakable: the invitation always precedes the judgment, the abundance always prepares for the famine, and the provision is always legally secured before the trial begins. The Open Field Shemitah reaches its absolute climax in Yahusha because He simultaneously embodies the eternal escape hatch of Yahuah while sounding the final alarm before the great tribulation breaks upon the earth.

2. Systematic Eschatology: The Open Field Shemitah & The Patterns of Fulfillment

1. The Eschatological Separation: The Two at the grinding mill and two in the Field
  • The Division (Matthew 24:40): The prophecy of "one taken and another left" does not depict a modern secret rapture. It depicts a judicial separation of spiritual states within the global wilderness.
Luk 17:35  “Two women shall be grinding together, the one shall be taken and the other shall be left.
Luk 17:36  “Two shall be in the field, the one shall be taken and the other shall be left.”
Luk 17:37  And they answering, said to Him, “Where, Master?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vulturesc shall be gathered together.”

Mat 24:40  “Then two shall be in the field, the one is taken and the one is left.

  • The Carcass and the Birds (Matthew 24:28): The individual who flees to the field but is ultimately "left" remains a carcass (the carnal body). Because they operate in the flesh, they are spiritually dead. They attract the birds of prey, which represent demonic executioners and cosmic judgment (Revelation 19:17-18).
Mat 24:28  “For wherever the dead body is, there the vultures shall be gathered together.

Rev 19:17  And I saw one messenger standing in the sun, and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid-heaven, “Come and gather together for the supper of the great Elohim,

Rev 19:18  to eat the flesh of sovereigns, and the flesh of commanders, and the flesh of strong ones, and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, both small and great.”

The Two Women at the Mill: Grinding the Carnal vs. Heavenly Bread

THE TWO WOMEN AT THE MILL

WOMAN 1 (Taken)
Snatched by Wrath
Grinding Carnal Bread
Clinging to the Old Pledge

WOMAN 2 (Left)
Preserved
Grinding Heavenly Bread
Sustained by Yahusha

A. The Torah Legal Framework (The Pledge of Life)

The Law (Deuteronomy 24:6): Torah explicitly states: "No man shall take the lower or the upper millstone in pledge, for he takes a man’s life in pledge."

The Spiritual Meaning: The millstone is the literal mechanism that creates bread to sustain biological life. To take a millstone away from someone is to legally strip them of their daily bread and sentence them to starvation and death.

B. The Open Field Imagery of the Two Women (Matthew 24:41)

The woman "taken" and the woman "left" mirrors the exact sequence of the two men in the field. The Greek word for "taken" (paralambano) here carries the judicial weight of being snatched away by the flood/wrath of judgment, leaving the other preserved.

The Taken Woman (Grinding Carnal Bread): She represents carnal YasharEL, still trapped inside the desolate house, desperately grinding the old, literal agricultural grain. She is trying to extract spiritual life out of a defunct, closed-land system that no longer has a legal altar or acceptable offerings.Because she relies on this carnal bread, she has essentially given her "millstone" (her life) as a pledge to a dead system. She is snatched away by judgment, becoming a carcass in the open field to be preyed upon by the birds of prey.

The Left Woman (Grinding Heavenly Bread): She represents the Spiritual Remnant in the Open Field Shemitah. She has abandoned the carnal grain. She is grinding the Bread from Heaven—which is Yahusha Himself (John 6:35).Her life is not pledged to a terrestrial millstone because her daily sustenance is spiritually secured in the Messiah. She is "left" (preserved/safeguarded) in the field because she is alive in the Spirit, not a dead carcass attracting predators.

The Judas/Abaddon Typology (Acts 1:18): Judas Iscariot serves as the ultimate prophetic micro-pattern for the Son of Perdition (Abaddon).Judas was covenanted but remained carnal. He bought a physical field with the reward of iniquity. He hung himself and burst open in that exact field, literally becoming a carcass for the birds. He walked with Yahusha during an Open Shemitah but met his destruction within it.

Act 1:18  (This one, therefore, purchased a field with the wages of unrighteousness, and falling forward, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.

2. The Command to Flee: The Desolation of Carnal YasharEL

The Garment (Matthew 24:18): The instruction, "Let him who is in the field not go back to take his garment," is a command to completely sever ties with the old, physical system.

The Desolate House: The "garment" represents the external, legalistic righteousness of physical, carnal YasharEL. This physical house is pronounced completely desolate (Matthew 23:38).The Judgment of Nostalgia: Turning back to retrieve the physical garment or clinging to a defunct terrestrial temple brings immediate vulnerability to the coming wrath.

Mat 23:38  “See! Your house is left to you laid waste,

3. The Structural Transition: Closed Land vs. Open Field Shemitah

                    CLOSED LAND SHEMITAH
(Torah Administration within the Land of YasharEL)

        • Bound to the Levitical Altar

        • Bound to Yahusha Mashiyach
        • Bound to Spiritual Rest
        • Bound to the Global Dispersion
        • Bound to the Remnant
        • Bound to the Harvest of the Nations
        • Bound to the Heavenly Yerushalayim

The Closed (Legal) Shemitah: Tied strictly to the geographic borders of the Promised Land. It dictates physical agricultural rest. It requires a localized Levitical altar, physical seeds, and literal harvesting to calculate and present the offerings for the Moedim (Feasts).

The Open Field Shemitah: A global, spiritual dispensation instituted by Yahusha. When the 12 tribes were driven into the dispersion (diaspora), they were legally freed from the land-bound, terrestrial Shemitah.

The Remnant vs. The Carcass:The Spiritual Remnant recognized the transition and crossed over into the Open Field Shemitah of Yahusha, where He serves as the land, the rest, and the altar.

Carnal YasharEL refused the transition, clung to a land they no longer legally controlled under the Spirit, and became carcasses in the open field.

The Legal Impossibility of Diaspora Feasts: The Open Field Shemitah cannot have physical Sabbaths and Moedim (feasts). Legally, the Torah requires literal sowing, reaping, and harvesting in the geographic land to bring physical produce for offerings onto the physical Levitical altar.

The Closed (Ended) Requirement: Only a Land (close-ended) Shemitah possesses the geographic and Levitical parameters required to satisfy the literal Sabbaths and feasts.

The Transition: The 12 tribes in dispersion were legally freed from the binding, close-ended Legal Shemitah specifically to transition into the Open Field Shemitah of Yahusha. The Remnant transitioned into Him as the ultimate fulfillment, leaving the old mechanics behind.

                  (50)                 (50)               (22)

A. The Macro-Pattern (Leviticus 25): The Sabbatical & Jubilee Cycle

The Torah establishes the terrestrial Sabbatical and Jubilee structure based strictly on cycles of seven:
  • 7 cycles of 7 years = 49 years.
  • The +1 year is the 50th year—the Yobel (Jubilee).
  • The Divine Provision: Yahuah promised a supernatural triple-crop in the 6th year. This divine abundance alone sustained the nation through the 7th year (rest), the 8th year (sowing/eating old crop), and completely into the 9th year (the first harvest of the new cycle).
Lev 25:20 ‘And since you might say, “What do we eat in the seventh year, since we do not sow nor gather in our crops?”
Lev 25:21 ‘Therefore I have commanded My blessing on you in the sixth year, and it shall bring forth the crop for three years.
Lev 25:22 ‘And you shall sow in the eighth year and eat of the old crop until the ninth year. Eat of the old until its crop comes in.

B. The Micro-Pattern (The Spring Feasts): The Mirror of the Open Field Shemitah in Messiah

Yahuah embedded this identical mathematical architecture into the calendar days stretching from Pesach (Passover/Firstfruits) to Shavuot (Pentecost):

7 weeks of 7 days = 49 days.
The +1 day is the 50th day—Shavuot.
The Spiritual Mirror: This exact day-count is a flawless architectural mirror of the Open Field Shemitah. Yahusha did not come to destroy this pattern; He perfectly mirrored it by embodying it. All patterns flow directly into Him. He is the ultimate engine of this micro-harvest cycle, fulfilling every single marker along the timeline:

  • He is the Lamb (Pesach), whose blood secures the initial redemption and sets the timeline in motion.
  • He is the Unleavened Bread (Chag HaMatzot), the sinless bread broken to sustain the soul.
  • He is the Firstfruits (Yom HaBikkurim), rising from the dead as the first crop guaranteeing the harvest of the remnant.
  • He is the Ruach (Ruach HaKodesh), pouring out His own Spirit at Shavuot on the 50th day (the +1) to officially initiate the global transition into the Open Field Shemitah. All these spring feasts find their pattern mirrored and solved strictly in Him.
C. The Micro-Pattern (The Fall Feasts): The Three-Shemitah Seventh Month

In perfect mathematical symmetry, the 7th Month (Ethanim/Tishrei) replicates the Sabbatical architecture by laying out its three consecutive feasts across three sequential 7-day cycles (3 Shemitahs of days), culminating in an ultimate, transcendent +1 Concluding event (The 22nd Day):

(7 Days of Shemitah 1) + (7 Days of Shemitah 2) + (7 Days of Shemitah 3) = 21 days

The First Shemitah (Days 1–7): Separation of the Camp
The Event: Commences on Day 1 with Yom Teruah (The Day of Shouting).
Open Field Portrayal: The legal alarm sounds across the global field, declaring that the summer harvest is officially closed. It draws the immediate judicial line between the living Remnant and the dead carnal carcasses.

The Second Shemitah (Days 8–14): Erasure of Debt & Legal Cleansing

The Event: Pivots around Day 10 with Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement).
Open Field Portrayal: Yahusha operates from the heavenly courtroom to execute the supreme Sabbatical release. He legally cancels the sin-debt of the Remnant, vindicates them, and issues the permanent eviction sentence against Abaddon and the carnal system.

The Third Shemitah (Days 15–21): The Ingathering & Grinding of Nations

The Event: The 7 Days of Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles).
Open Field Portrayal: The 70 nations of the open field are systematically ground down and dismantled (typified by the daily reduction of the 70 bulls in Numbers 29). The scattered Remnant is simultaneously gathered out of the diaspora. The temporary booths represent the final moments of our physical, earthly bodies in the field.

The Structural Offering Pattern: The Systematic Diminishing of the 70 Bulls

During the 7 days of Sukkot, Numbers 29 commands a unique, decreasing sacrificial pattern of bulls that happens nowhere else in the Torah.

Day 1: 13 bulls | Day 2: 12 bulls | Day 3: 11 bulls | Day 4: 10 bulls | Day 5: 9 bulls | Day 6: 8 bulls | Day 7: 7 bulls.

The Total: (13 + 12 + 11 + 10 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 70)  bulls.

The Open Field Meaning: In Hebrew geography, 70 is the precise legal number of the Gentile Nations scattered across the open field of the world (derived from the Table of Nations in Genesis 10). The systematic countdown to the number 7 on the final day represents the gradual grinding down, dismantling, and legal eviction of the carnal worldly powers from the field, leaving only the Kingdom of Yahusha standing.

The 7-Day Decreasing Sacrificial Scale (Numbers 29:12-34)

Day 1 (13 Bulls):

Num 29:12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh new moon you have a set-apart gathering, you do no servile work. And you shall celebrate a festival to יהוה seven days,
Num 29:13 and you shall bring near an ascending offering, an offering made by fire, a sweet fragrance to יהוה: thirteen young bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect one they are,

Day 2 (12 Bulls):

Num 29:17 Then on the second day: twelve young bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,

Day 3 (11 Bulls):

Num 29:20 And on the third day eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,

Day 4 (10 Bulls):

Num 29:23 Then on the fourth day: ten bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,

 Day 5 (9 Bulls):

Num 29:26 Then on the fifth day: nine bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,

Day 6 (8 Bulls):

Num 29:29 Then on the sixth day: eight bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,

Day 7 (7 Bulls):

Num 29:32 Then on the seventh day: seven bulls, two rams, fourteen lambs a year old, perfect ones,

The Mathematical Formula

13+12+11+10+9+8+7=70

Total Bulls Offered: 70

The Prophetic Cross-Reference: The Seventy Nations

This total of 70 bulls is not accidental. It corresponds prophetically to the 70 original nations listed in Genesis 10: 2-31 (the Table of Nations), where the descendants of Noah were divided into the nations scattered across the earth.

Line     Nations
Yapheth14
Ham30
Shem26
Total70

Within the Open Field Shemitah model, these 70 bulls represent the legal scope of the entire Gentile world—the open field into which the dispersed Remnant has been scattered.

The offerings diminish systematically:

13 → 12 → 11 → 10 → 9 → 8 → 7

Rather than increasing, they steadily decrease until only the covenant number 7 remains on the final day.

This descending pattern portrays the progressive dismantling of the kingdoms of this world. As the seven-day Feast of Sukkot advances, the authority of the seventy nations is legally brought to an end, while the scattered Remnant is gathered from the open field into Yahuah's storehouse.

Thus, the diminishing sacrifices become a prophetic picture of Yahusha bringing the dominion of the nations to its appointed conclusion, clearing the field completely before the eternal kingdom is revealed on Shemini Atzeret, the Eighth Day.

The Daily Pattern (Numbers 29:12–34)

Each day of Sukkot:

  • Bulls — Decrease from 13 → 7
  • Rams — Always 2
  • Lambs — Always 14 (2 × 7)

Only the bulls change. The rams and lambs remain constant.

That distinction itself is significant.

1. The Bulls — The Nations (Changing)

The bulls diminish every day.

Within the Open Field Shemitah:

  • They represent the 70 nations of Genesis 10.
  • Their decreasing number portrays the dismantling of the kingdoms of the world.
  • The nations are passing away.

They are variable.

2. The Two Rams — Covenant Witness (Constant)

Every day:

  • 2 Rams

Throughout Scripture, the number two repeatedly functions as the number of legal testimony.

Examples:

  • Two witnesses (Deuteronomy 19:15)
  • Two tablets of the covenant
  • Two cherubim over the Ark
  • Two olive trees (Zechariah 4)
  • Two witnesses (Revelation 11)

Within the Open Field Shemitah, the two rams represents:

  • The unchanging covenant witness of Yahuah.
  • The legal testimony by which the nations are judged and the Remnant vindicated.

Unlike the bulls, the witness never changes.

3. Fourteen Lambs (2 × 7) — Perfect Redemption (Constant)

Every day:

  • 14 Lambs = 2 × 7

Seven is the number of covenant completeness.

Two is covenant witness.

Therefore:

2 × 7 = Complete covenant testimony through sacrifice.

Unlike the bulls:

  • The nations decrease.
  • The Lambs remain constant.

That is a beautiful contrast.

The atoning provision never diminishes.

Open Field Interpretation

The daily offerings become three parallel pictures.

One more observation

Across the seven days:

Lambs

14 × 7 = 98 Lambs

98 = 14 × 7 = 2 × 7 × 7

While Scripture doesn't assign an explicit symbolic meaning to these totals, they reinforce the repeated use of covenant numbers (2 and 7) throughout the feast.

2 RamsConstant      The unchanging legal witness and covenant testimony by which Yahusha judges the nations and vindicates the Remnant.
14 Lambs (2 × 7)Constant      The perpetual and complete provision of covenant redemption. While the kingdoms of the world diminish, the sacrifice of the Lamb never diminishes and remains sufficient until the final ingathering is complete.

This creates a striking theological contrast: what belongs to the world decreases, but what belongs to Yahuah's covenant remains constant. That contrast is directly observable in the sacrificial pattern itself, even though the specific symbolism of the rams and lambs is not explicitly explained in the Torah.

The Ultimate +1 Coda/Concluding event (Day 22): Shemini Atzeret (The 8th Day)

The Event: The Day of Great Solemn Assembly (Leviticus 23:36).
Open Field Portrayal: The number 22 represents ultimate Hebrew alphanumeric completion (Aleph to Tav). The 8th day breaks the earthly 7-day cycle. The temporary booths are collapsed, the Open Field Shemitah is legally closed, and the Final Harvest is brought home. The Remnant steps over the threshold into the eternal, unshakeable reality of the New Yerushalayim.

The seventh month naturally divides into three seven-day blocks:

First Seven

├── Day 1 → Yom Teruah
└── Days 2–7 continue the first cycle

Second Seven

D. The Modern Delusion: The Carcass of Mixed Systems

Carnal YasharEL attempts to cling to Mashiyach Yahusha while simultaneously remaining occupied with the obsolete, physical shadows of the old pattern. This makes them a carcass in the open field.

Isa 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, “We shall eat our own food and wear our own clothes; only let us be called by your name, to take away our reproach.”

They are trapped in a fatal theological contradiction. They are still occupied with the old pattern—trying to keep a land-bound, close-ended agricultural law in the diaspora—while simultaneously clinging to Mashiyach Yahusha.

They say, "Look at the barley in the land!" while they themselves are seated at another part of the world, physically trying to observe agricultural Shemitah laws that legally require a localized Levitical altar.

E. The Fate of the Double-Minded

Because they refuse to fully transition into the Open Field Shemitah, this hybrid state is exactly what is seen in the prophetic imagery: they are the carcass in the open field where the birds of prey preyed on him. You cannot mix the old closed-land obligations with the open-field freedom of the Messiah without becoming spiritually dead food for judgment.

F. The Remnant

When we look at the Fall Feasts in the Open Field Shemitag, the Remnant is not trying to mimic the agricultural rituals of harvest, wine, and oil floors. Instead, they recognize those literal mechanics died when the house became desolate. The Remnant looks purely for the cosmic, spiritual execution of those patterns by Yahusha from the New Yerushalayim.

5. The Cosmic Execution: Yahusha as the Sole Keeper of the Shemitah

The True Representative: Yahusha stands as the only flawless Representative of YasharEL in the dispersion. He alone resides in, and operates from, the New Yerushalayim.

The Sevenfold Cycles of Revelation: John’s Apocalypse uses structural series of 7s to demonstrate Yahusha actively enforcing and executing the cosmic Shemitah from heaven:
  • He stands among the 7 Lampstands (Evaluating the assemblies).
  • He breaks the 7 Seals (Opening the legal deed of the earth).
  • He authorizes the 7 Trumpets (Declaring warfare and covenant vengeance).
  • He pours out the 7 Bowls of Wrath (Cleansing the land of the earth).

The Ultimate Jubilee: Through these cycles of seven, Yahusha systematically exacts the earth's missing Sabbatical rests, avenges the blood of the righteous, cancels the debts of His people, and legally delivers the remnant into eternal inheritance.

6. Fall Feasts fit into this Open Field model

The Fall Feasts (Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot) serve as the ultimate, dramatic closing sequence of the Open Field Shemitah.

While the Spring Feasts initiated the Open Field model through the death, resurrection, and sending of the Ruach, the Fall Feasts execute the final legal clearing of the field. Under this model, the Fall Feasts are not terrestrial agricultural celebrations, but cosmic, judicial events executed by Yahusha from the New Yerushalayim.

A. Yom Teruah (The Day of Shouting / Trumpets): The Wake-Up Call in the Open Field

The Shadow: In the land-bound covenant, this marked the civil New Year and the sounding of the shofar to gather the people and warn them of impending judgment.

The Open Field Fulfillment: Yom Teruah represents the legal, roaring declaration that the summer harvest of the diaspora is officially closed.

The Division: The shofar sounds in the open field to signal the immediate gathering of the chosen Remnant (Matthew 24:31). Simultaneously, it strikes terror into the "carcasses" who refused to give up their carnal garments, alerting them that the birds of prey are deploying.

B. Yom Kippur (The Day of Atonement): The Cosmic Courtroom & Cleansing of the Field

The Shadow: The High Priest entered the physical Most Set Apart with blood to cleanse the earthly tabernacle, transfer the sins of the nation to the scapegoat, and reset the spiritual ledger of YasharEL.

The Open Field Fulfillment: Yahusha, operating as the ultimate High Priest from the celestial New Yerushalayim, conducts the final cosmic court case of the earth as an Advocate.

The Legal Separation:

For the Remnant: Atonement is fully finalized. Their debts are legally wiped clean, and they are vindicated against their oppressors under the absolute law of the Jubilee (Yobel).

For the Carnal / Beasts: This is the day the "Son of Perdition" and the carnal system are permanently sentenced. The open field is legally stripped from the hand of the enemy. The blood of the wicked is required to cleanse the earth, matching the pattern of the winepress of wrath (Revelation 14:19-20).

Rev 14:19  And the messenger thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and threw it into the great winepress of the wrath of Elohim.
Rev 14:20  And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the bridles of the horses, for about one thousand six hundred stadia

C. Sukkot (The Feast of Tabernacles):  The Ingathering & The Marriage Supper

The Shadow: YasharEL dwelt in temporary booths, rejoicing over the final ingathering of the wine, oil, and grain floors, anticipating the rest of the land.

The Open Field Fulfillment: Sukkot is the grand finale of the Open Field Shemitah. It is the transition from the temporary "booths" of our physical, dispersed bodies into our eternal, glorified estates.

The Dual Realities of Sukkot:

The Marriage Supper: The Remnant, gathered from the open fields of the dispersion, enters the literal, structural rest of the New Yerushalayim to tabernacle with Yahuah forever (Revelation 21:3).

The Great Feast of the Fowls: While the Remnant tabernacles in glory, the carcasses left behind in the open field are physically gathered for a different kind of "feast." This is the Feast of the Fowls (Revelation 19:17-18), where the birds of prey finish consuming the flesh of those who clung to the carnal house.

7. The 7 Seals: The Legal Execution of the Open Field Shemitah

In the ancient near-east and under Torah law, a seven-sealed scroll represents a closed land deed or a covenant document containing blessings and curses (reminiscent of Leviticus 26). Because carnal YasharEL defaulted, the land deed reverted to the True Owner.

Yahusha, the sole Keeper of the Shemitah, steps forward in Revelation 5 to break the 7 seals. This is not random destruction; it is the legal clearing of the Open Field to evict the squatters (the carnal carcasses) and claim the inheritance for the Remnant.

SEALS 1-4: The Four Horsemen ---> Dispensing Curses upon the Carnal Field
SEALS 5-6: Cosmic Upheaval   ---> Vindicating the Remnant & Shaking the Desolate House
SEAL 7:    The Silence       ---> Initiating the Final Jubilee Trumpets

Seal 1: The White Horse (The False Mashiyach & Carnal Delusion)

The Action: A rider with a bow and a crown goes out conquering and to conquer.

The Open Field Execution: This is the release of the spirit of delusion upon carnal YasharEL. Because they rejected the Open Field Shemitah of Yahusha, they willingly submit to a false, carnal Messiah who promises to restore the old, physical, land-bound system. This deception seals their fate as carcasses.

Seal 2: The Red Horse (Removal of Peace / Civil Slaughter)

The Action: A rider with a great sword is permitted to take peace from the earth so men slay one another.

The Open Field Execution: Total civil and religious warfare within the carnal house. Those who cling to physical garments and carnal structures turn on each other in bloody, factional slaughter, physically manifesting their spiritual status as dead men walking.

Seal 3: The Black Horse (Famine of the Word and Grain)

The Action: A rider with a pair of scales balances scarce wheat and barley for exorbitant prices, while told "do not harm the oil and wine."

The Open Field Execution: This directly hits the millstone and agricultural imagery. It is a severe famine of the true bread. The scales signify the legal weighing out of judgment on those who refused the spiritual bread. However, the "oil and wine" (the sealed Remnant who possess the Ruach and the blood of Yahusha) are strictly protected.

Amo 8:11  “See, days are coming,” declares the Master יהוה, “that I shall send a hunger in the land, not a hunger for bread, nor a thirst for water, but for hearing the Words of יהוה.
Amo 8:12  “And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from north to east – they shall diligently search, seeking the Word of יהוה, but they shall not find it.

Seal 4: The Pale Horse (Death, Sheol, and the Birds of Prey)

The Action: Death and Sheol are given authority over a fourth of the earth to kill with sword, hunger, pestilence, and by the wild beasts/birds of the earth.

The Open Field Execution: This is the literal climax of Matthew 24:28. The Pale horse sweeps through the open field to cut down the carnal carcasses. The "beasts and birds" mentioned here are the exact prophetic executioners waiting to prey on those who were "taken" from the mill and the field.

Seal 5: The Altar Souls (The Legal Cry for Covenant Vengeance)

The Action: The souls of the martyred righteous under the altar cry out, "How long until you judge and avenge our blood?"

The Open Field Execution: In a closed land Shemitah, blood defiles the physical ground. In the Open Field Shemitah, the blood of the Remnant cries out from the cosmic altar. Yahusha acknowledges their legal claim, gives them white robes (the true garment), and tells them to rest a little longer until the full number of their brethren is complete.

Seal 6: The Cosmic Shaking (The Collapsing of the Desolate House)

The Action: A great earthquake, the sun turns black, the moon turns to blood, and the stars fall. The kings and carnal men hide in rocks crying, "Fall on us!"

The Open Field Execution: This is the total, terrifying de-creation of the old physical order. The terrestrial landscape that carnal YasharEL trusted in is violently rolled up like a scroll. They realize too late that their physical garments cannot shield them from the wrath of the Lamb.

Seal 7: Silence & The Transition to the Trumpets

The Action: Silence in heaven for about half an hour, followed by the presentation of the 7 Trumpets to the 7 angels.

The Open Field Execution: The legal courtroom goes completely silent as the final verdict of the 7 Seals is settled. The 7 Seals have successfully categorized the world into two camps: the living Remnant and the dead carcasses. This silence prepares the way for the 7 Trumpets, which act as the final, Jericho-style warfare to completely blow down the old system and usher in the eternal Jubilee.

 8. The Pauline Epistles: Shadows vs. Cosmic Body

A. Colossians 2:16-17 – The Legal Reality Shift

The Text:

Col 2:16  Let no one therefore judge you in eating or in drinking, or in respect of a festival or a new moon or Sabbaths –
Col 2:17  which are a shadow of what is to come – but the Body of the Messiah.

"The Open Field Application: Shaul/Paul explains the legal impossibility of trying to keep the old, closed-land mechanics while in the diaspora. The literal agricultural products (food, drink) and the calendar markers (festivals, Sabbaths) were merely shadows cast by a physical object. Now that the Substance (Yahusha) has arrived, clinging to the shadow in the open field makes one a "carcass." The Remnant rests in the Substance; carnal YasharEL chases the shadow.

B. Galatians 4:9-11 & 25-26 – Clinging to the Desolate Hagar

The Text: Paul rebukes the Galatians:

Gal 4:9  But now after you have known Elohim, or rather are known by Elohim, how do you turn again to the weak and poor elementary matters, to which you wish to be enslaved again?

Gal 4:10  You closely observe days and months and seasons and years.

Gal 4:11  I fear for you, lest by any means I have laboured for you in vain.

He then explains that the terrestrial, physical Yerushalayim corresponds to Hagar and "is in bondage with her children," but the Yerushalayim above is free.

Gal 4:25  for this Haḡar is Mount Sinai in Araḇia, and corresponds to Yerushalayim which now is, and is in slavery with her children.
Gal 4:26  But the Yerushalayim above is free, which is the mother of us all.

The Open Field Application: "Days, months, seasons, and years" is direct Torah terminology for the Sabbatical years, Jubilees, and Moedim. Paul explicitly states that trying to keep these land-bound cycles while tethered to the physical, earthly Yerushalayim is a return to slavery (bondage). He warns that the earthly system is a desolate house, and the true Remnant belongs to the New Yerushalayim operating in the Open Field.

C. The General Epistles: The Transfer of the Altar

Hebrews 13:10-14 – Going "Outside the Camp" into the Open Field

The Text:

Heb 13:10  We have a slaughter-place from which those serving the Tent have no authority to eat.
Heb 13:11  For the bodies of those beasts whose blood is brought into the Set-apart Place by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.
Heb 13:12  And so יהושע also suffered outside the gate, to set apart the people with His own blood.
Heb 13:13  Let us, then, go to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.
Heb 13:14  For we have no lasting city here, but we seek the one coming.

Therefore let us go forth to Him, outside the camp, bearing His reproach. For here we have no continuing city, but we seek the one to come."

The Open Field Application: This is the ultimate call to transition into the Open Field Shemitah. The author of Hebrews states that the physical temple system is legally closed to the Remnant. Yahusha died outside the gate—in the open field of the world. To find Him, the Remnant must deliberately leave the "camp" (the defunct, carnal, land-bound religious system) and live in the spiritual diaspora, looking only to the New Yerushalayim.

Hebrews 4:9-10 – The Spiritual Sabbath Rest

The Text:

Heb 4:9  So there remains a Sabbath-keeping for the people of Elohim.
Heb 4:10  For the one, having entered into His rest, has himself also rested from his works, as Elohim rested from His own

The Open Field Application: The author explicitly shifts the definition of "Sabbath-keeping" away from literal, agricultural land cycles. The ultimate Shemitah rest is a permanent, spiritual state achieved by entering into Yahusha. To continue striving to keep physical, terrestrial agricultural laws as a means of righteousness is to deny that Yahusha has successfully completed the work.

Study Note Synthesis: The New Testament Vocabulary of the Open Field

  • The Location of the Altar: Changed from the terrestrial temple mount to "Outside the Camp" (Hebrews 13:13).
  • The Nature of the Offerings: Changed from physical grain/beasts to "Spirit and Truth" (John 4:24)  and the "Fruit of our lips" (Hebrews 13:15).
  • The Calendar Authority: Swapped from the Levitical agricultural cycle to the "Substance of Mashiyach" (Colossians 2:17).
