We have many teaching that Yahusha was a literal Son of David and came from his sperm and deny the virgin birth, thus, putting Yahusha on a common ground as we are without realizing that David in Pslams 51:5 says "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me".
They also teach Yahusha was designated as the Son of Elohim by the resurrection from the dead just as Adam was in an incorrupt state (before he sinned) and not a literal Son as Elohim can't have a Son. They are denying the Adon who bought them. This study is to see facts from scripture for a clearer understanding for those in doubt.
The promise to David:
2Sa 7:12 “When your days are filled and you rest with your fathers, I shall raise up your seed after you, who comes from your inward parts, and shall establish his reign.
2Sa 7:13 “He does build a house for My Name, and I shall establish the throne of his reign forever.
2Sa 7:14 “I am to be his Father, and he is My son. If he does perversely, I shall reprove him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men.
2Sa 7:15 “But My loving-commitment does not turn aside from him, as I turned it aside from Sha’ul, whom I removed from before you.
2Sa 7:16 “And your house and your reign are to be steadfast forever before you – your throne is established forever.”
The Davidic covenant is the most misunderstood among the Yahudites and the Hebrew roots movement who deny the virgin birth. For they take 2 Sam 7:12 literally to show Yahusha came from the inward parts of David i.e. his sperm and further teach that since Yoseph was a descendant of David, he had sexual relationship with Miriam and the child Miriam bore was Yahusha.
Whereas the promise is dual, one in a literal lineage and one in typology. When you look at 2Sam 7:12-14 we see it speaking of Shelemoh who literally built a temple and verse 14 is clearer in seeing the chastisement on David's seed if he does perversely. Yahuah says He will reprove him with a rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. The promise that David's house and his reign would be established forever would only be fulfilled by Yahusha ha Mashiyach. Hence, Yahusha falls into the typology of David as He came from the innermost/inward parts of Elohim.
Joh 16:27 For the Father himself loves you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came from Elohiym.
Joh 16:28 I came forth/exerchomai G1831 from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world and go to the Father.
Exerchomai G1831
While the Greek word exerchomai G1831 is also used as a generic term (literally or figuratively) for 'out/come/proceed/depart', it usually is an understanding of 'coming out forth/out of' which cannot be missed.
The word has 2 root words ex G1537 & erchomai G2064
1. ex G1537 A primary preposition denoting origin (the point whence motion or action proceeds), from, out (of place, time or cause; literally or figuratively; direct or remote):
2. erchomai G2064 to come or go (in a great variety of applications, literally and figuratively): - accompany, appear, bring, come enter, fall out, go, grow, X light, X next, pass, resort, be set
Hence, when Yahusha said He came forth from the Father, He accompanied the Father bodily in Himself as 'erchomai' also means ' to accompany/to bring/appear/come enter'. This fits so perfectly when we understand that it pleased the Father to dwell in fullness bodily. Hence, He is fulness of Elohim bodily. One cannot find the Father beyond Him.
Col 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
Col 2:9 For in him dwells all the fulness of Elohiym bodily.
That is why He told Philip "Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, show us the Father? "
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him and have seen him.
Joh 14:8 Philip said unto him: Adonai, show us the Father, and it suffices us.
Joh 14:9 Yahusha said unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, show us the Father?
Joh 17:8 For I have given unto them the words which you gave me; and they have received them and have known surely that I came out/exerchomai G1831 from you, and they have believed that you did send me.
Monogenes Theos: Only begotten Elohim
Joh 1:18 ืืช No man has seen Elohiym at any time; the Hebrew: yachiyd (Greek: monogenes theos), which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.
John 1:18: The early Greek, Aramaic manuscripts say ‘Only Begotten Elohim” (Greek words: monogenes theos)
Aramaic says: ‘the Only Unique One/๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค (yachyada) Alaha (Aluah)
Later Greek manuscripts say “ monogenes uihos/huios “which means “Only begotten Son” based on Father Son relationship, adding to the text based on John 3:16 and other places where it says of Him as “Only begotten Son”
‘yachyid’ The root words in it are as follows:
ืืื which means together, alike, likewise, unite, join (H3162) ๐ค๐ค๐ค -yachad
ืืื or ืืืื which means a riddle (H2420) dark saying, hard question, dark sentence, proverb, dark speech ๐ค๐ค๐ค or ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค-chaydah
ืื which means life (H2416) ๐ค๐ค-chay
ืื which means 'hand' ๐ค๐ค-yad
Looking at the root words we see that we are united by His hand into his life through the parabolic/riddle language.
Coming back to David:
Eze 37:24 while Dawiแธ My servant is sovereign over them. And they shall all have one shepherd and walk in My right-rulings and guard My laws and shall do them.
Eze 37:25 “And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Ya‛aqoแธ My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell in it, they and their children and their children’s children, forever, and My servant Dawiแธ be their prince forever.
Jer 30:9 And they shall serve ืืืื their Elohim and Dawiแธ their sovereign, whom I raise up for them.
Luk 1:30 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Miryam: for you have found favor with Elohiym.
Luk 1:31 And, behold, you shall conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name Yahusha.
Luk 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of El Elyon: and Yahuah Elohiym shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
Luk 1:33 And he shall reign over the house of Ya`aqov forever; and of his Kingdom there shall be no end.
1Ki 8:18 And Yahuah said unto El־David my father, whereas it was in your heart to build a house unto my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
1Ki 8:19 Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house unto my name.
David H1732 spelled in Hebrew as ืืื or ืืืื or ืืื as per H1730 which means 'Beloved/lover/friend/love/uncle'
Rom1:2 which He promised in advance through His prophets in the Set-Apart Scriptures.
Rom1:3 concerning the Word of His Son, be found/ginomai G1096 of a seed of Dawid
according to the flesh,
Rom1:4 who was declared the Son of Elohim with power by the resurrection
from the dead, according to the Ruach ha Qodesh, He was Yahusha the Mashiyach our Adon (Master).
The Son was of Elohim who was promised in advance through His prophets in the Set Apart Scriptures and was found of a seed of David according to the flesh. KJV translates the Greek word ginomai G1096 as 'made of the seed of David'. The Greek word used for seed is 'sperma' G4694 where we get our English word 'sperm'. Those who do not believe the virgin birth literally take the word 'sperm' to show Yahusha came from the 'sperm' of David, whereas the term is generic and also used for seed of the field. Now you tell me which plant or shrub has 'sperm'? e.g. Matt 13:24, 27, 32, 37, Mark 4:31.
Luk 3:38 Which was the son of Enosh, which was the son of Sheth, which was the son of A’dam, which was the son of Elohiym.
Adam is termed here as the son of Elohim. Was Adam begotten Elohim (monogenes theos)? Not at all. Adam fell in line with the Son of Elohim and was the figure of Him who was to come i.e. Yahusha.
Rom 5:14 Nevertheless death reigned from A’dam to Mosheh, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of A’dam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
1Co 15:45 And so it is written, the first man A’dam was found/ginomai G1096 a living soul; the last A’dam was made a quickening ruach.
Again, here in 1Corn 15:45 Adam 'ginomai G1096' is translated by KJV as 'was made' and the translators added the same context to Yahusha in italics which is not there in the original. With the same logic of understanding the Greek word 'ginomai G1096' and if it's added to Yahusha then it should read as 'the last Adam was found a quickening Ruach'.
This clearly shows us that Adam termed as 'son of Elohim' was figurative as Yahuah breathed in him the breath of lives (plural).
Gen 2:7 And Yahuah Elohiym formed the man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of lives/chayim; and the man became a living soul.
Adam became a representation of all those who are earthy while Yahusha the heavenly man became a representation of all those born of the Ruach i.e. the ones who would believe in Him & acknowledge that He is the Son of Elohim who is the only begotten Elohim (monogenes theos/yachyid (only begotten)/yachayada Alaha).
Traditionalists teach Luke's genealogy is from Miriam (Mary). Luke's genealogy is not from Mary. Genealogies are never from women. Secondly, we need to look at Luke 3:23. The Hebrew renders as he is reckoned/counted as the son of Yoseph. Was He the actual son of Yoseph. No. He was conceived by the power of the Ruach ha Qodesh. Hence, in the lineage He is the firstborn, but from Elohim, ascending all the way to come in humanity to be counted as a Son of promise to keep the name of Yasharal alive. That is why Shaul in 1Corn 15:45 calls Him as "..the last Adam was found a LIFE GIVING RUACH" Some translations say "...as reckoned by law, son of Yosฤph, of ฤli/Heli,"
Luke3:23 And Yahusha began His work, and He was about thirty years old. He was reckoned/counted as (Hebrew: H2803 chashab ืืฉื) the son of Yoseph, the son of Eli,
The Greek word used is G3543 nomizō which also means 'to deem or regard: - suppose'.
This is clear that Yahusha was supposedly the son of Yoseph who a descendant of David was and thus supposedly Yahusha was placed in the lineage as the Son of David and not a literal Son, for He was Son of Elohim as begotten Elohim.
Also, the promises mentioned in Ee 37:24-25, Jer 30:9 which says while Dawiแธ My servant is sovereign over them & they shall serve him has to be decoded that it says of Yahusha and not David and remember we saw the name David H1732 spelled in Hebrew as ืืื ๐ค๐ค
๐ค or ืืืื ๐ค๐ค
๐ค๐ค or ืืื ๐ค๐ค๐ค as per H1730 means 'Beloved/lover/friend/love/uncle' & Eph 1:6 says we have been accepted in the Beloved
Eph1:5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Yahusha the Mashiyach to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
Eph 1:6 to the praise of the glory of His favor which He freely bestowed on us in/Bi ๐ค๐ค His BELOVED (Hebrew: Dido ืืืื ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค
).
That is why the emissary Kepha spoke of David that he is both dead and buried and that the oath was referring to Mashiyach Yahusha.
Act 2:29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.
Act 2:30 Therefore being a prophet and knowing that Elohiym had sworn with an oath to him, ืืช that of the fruit of his loins (Hebrew: chalats H2504, Greek: osphus G3751), according to the flesh, he would raise up Mashiach to sit on his throne.
chalats ๐ค๐ค๐ค H2504 is same word as H2502 & means to deliver, equip (for fight); present, strengthen: - arm (self), (go, ready) armed (X man, soldier), deliver, draw out, make fat, loose, (ready) prepared, put off, take away, withdraw self & hence H2504 says it's a seat of vigor/in a sense of strength. While the word is used literally, it is also used figuratively as verses which state that certain prophets and kings put a sackcloth around their loins where the same word is used for loins.
David in his old age lost his vigor and was forbidden by his men to go out to battle with them so that he would be preserved on the throne. With Kepha confirming that David is both dead and buried and his sepulchre is with us today is to show that as a prophet he spoke of the oath Elohim made to him that he would raise up Maschiyach on his throne. The Lion of Yahudah would live forever and is also called 'El-Gibbor' i.e. Mighty Elohim (Isaiah 9:6).
The Greek word osphus G3751 means of uncertain affinity; the loin (externally), that is, the hip; internally (by extension) procreative power: - loin.
Here again the Greek word is used for Yahuchanan the Immerser wearing a girdle around his loins, Eph 6:14 speaking of the armor of Elohim, Shaul the emissary says "Stand therefore, having your loins/osphus G3751 girt about with truth" & Kepha uses the word in 1 Pet 1:13 figuratively asking us to gird up the loins/osphus G3751 of our mind.
The word is also used figuratively about Levi who being in priesthood receive tithes from the people, being in the loins of his father Abraham when Malchitsedeq met him and figuratively paid the tithe to Malchitsedeq (Heb 7:5,10).
Matt 22:41 And it came to pass when the Prushim were assembled, Yahusha asked them, saying,
Matt 22:42 “What do you say about the Mashiyach? “Whose son is He?” And they said to Him, “The son of Dawid.”
Matt 22:43 He said to them,
“Then how could Dawid, by the Ruach, call Him ‘Adon (Master),” when he said
Matt 22:44 Yahuah said to My Adon (Master), ‘Sit at My right hand
until I put your enemies your footstool for your feet?’
Matt 22:45 “Now If Dawid calls Him ‘Adon,’ how is he, His son?”
In Yahusha's words itself questioning the rulers asks them if Messiah is the Son of David, then how could David by the Ruach call him Adon? This clearly shows that He was the Adon who was born into the lineage of David and not his literal son. David falls into the lineage of Yahusha's Malchitsedeq priesthood and not vice versa.
Heirs to David's throne:
A first glance at the genealogies of Matthew 1 & Luke 3 side by side shows a contradiction as the list of the genealogy from Daud/David is where the problem lies, here is the problem:
The problem lies as Matthew’s lineage shows the lineage from Shelemoh who was the son of David he got from Bathsheba and Luke’s genealogy records the genealogy from Nathan who was also Daud’s/David’s son. There is no contradiction in Yahuah’s dabar, to understand the genealogies better we must read and understand what this means.
Luk 3:23 And when ืืืืฉืข Himself began, He was about thirty years of age, being, as reckoned by law, son of Yosฤph, of ฤli/Heli,
Mat 1:16 And Yaสฝaqoḇ brought forth Yosฤph the husband of Miryam, of whom was born ืืืืฉืข who is called Messiah.
How could Yoseph have two different fathers Yaaqob and Eli/Heli with two different genealogies?
In Luke 3:23 an emphasis is added to let us know that Yoseph was not the immediate son of Eli/Heli, the emphasis can be drawn out from the writing 'as reckoned by law' Matthew 1:16 shows his immediate father Yaaqob from the lineage of Shelemoh.
The emphasis 'as reckoned by law' lies in understanding the Torah where a dead brother's wife is given seed by his living brother to keep his name alive in Yasharal. You may refer to the Torah portion Deut 25:5-6 to understand the Torah of the dead brother. It is evident that Yoseph's immediate father was Yaaqob (Matt 1:16) because the emphasis added there is different as he was the occupying son of Heli to keep his name alive in Yasharal. Heli would have died childless and Yaaqob would have given seed to his wife to keep his name alive in Yasharal and hence, the parenthesis in Luke 3:23 'as reckoned by the law'
Genealogies are never from a woman, however when a woman is mentioned in a genealogy alongside her husband it has a significance. It means that the son born to them was as per the Torah of the dead husband which scripture is either silent or is explicitly describing that the produce through the relationship represented a tying up of 2 tribes. One from his actual father and one from the Torah of the dead husband of the woman to keep his name alive in Yasharal.
Rth 2:1 And Naสฝomi had a KINSMAN on her husband’s side, a man of great wealth, of the FAMILY of Elimeleḵ, and his name was Boสฝaz.
Elimelek was an Ephrathite and if Boaz was a relative to Elimelek, it's evident that he was both an Ephrathite as well as a Yahudite denoted by Rachab alongside her husband Salmon. No where else scripture tells us Rachab was married, and her first husband died and that she re-married Salmon. But how else could their son Boaz be a relative of Elimelek an Ephrathite if Rachab's first husband wouldn't be an Ephrathithe?
Mat 1:5 And Salmon (Yahudite) brought forth Boสฝaz by Racḥaḇ, and Boสฝaz brought forth Oḇฤḏ by Ruth, and Oḇฤḏ brought forth Yishai.
Boaz was able to redeem Ruth because he was fit as a kinsman redeemer, being an Ephrathite and a close relative of Elimelek. There was one closer KINSMAN to Elimelek than Boaz who refused to redeem Ruth and Boaz as per Torah gave him the first preference to redeem the right of a Kinsman.
Rth 3:12 And now it is true that I am your near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
Rth 3:13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto you the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to you, then will I do the part of a kinsman to you, as Yahuah lives: lie down until the morning.
Mat 1:5 And Salmon (Yahudite) brought forth Boสฝaz by Racḥaḇ, and Boสฝaz brought forth Oḇฤḏ by Ruth, and Oḇฤḏ brought forth Yishai.
Ruth is mentioned alongside Boaz in the same verse, and scripture explicitly shows us that Ruth was the wife of Machlun the Ephrathite who had died and left her childless and hence, Obed her son would be the son of Machlun the Ephrathite to keep his name alive in Yasharal as per the Torah of the dead person.
1Sa 17:12 Now David was the son of that Ephrathiy of Beyt Lechem Yahudah, whose name was Yishai; and he had eight sons: and the man went among men for an old man in the days of Sha’ul.
David was the direct son of Yishai with a tag now of 2 lineages as per Ephrayim as well as Yahudah. Hence, Matthew begins the genealogy to show Yahusha is the Kinsman redeemer through David of Eprahyim who represented the first born berekah for Yasharal and Yahudah.
Abraham is mentioned because the promise was of the SEED i.e. Mashiyach made to him and not of seeds as of many. And it was said "in you all the nations shall be blessed"
Matt1:6 Yishay fathered Dawid the king. Dawid fathered Shelomoh by the wife of UriYah.
It is interesting to see that Bathsheba's name is not mentioned but she is termed here as 'the wife of UriYah' and this is because David had UriYah killed in battle and the son in Bathsheba's womb was through adultery and cannot be accounted for a son as per Torah of the dead husband. For UriYah was alive when Bathsheba was pregnant. After the son died and so did UriYah, scripture attributes Shelemoh as the son of UriYah as the Torah of the dead husband to keep his name alive and UriYah was a Yahudite, a Hittite by geographical location.
I have touch based on this in my note. Here is a short transcript:
The discrepancy is, how Mashiyach is attributed to be the heir seated on David's throne, was it through Shelemoh or through Nathan?
While most of the biblical scholars attribute that Mashiyach came through the lineage of Shelemoh based on the following promise stated in 1 Ch 22:9-13 as an immediate inference:
1Ch 22:9 ‘See, a son is to be born to you, who is a man of rest. And I shall give him rest from all his enemies all around, for Shelomoh is his name, and peace and rest I give to Yisra’ฤl in his days.
1Ch 22:10 ‘He does build a house for My Name, and he is to be My son, and I am to be his Father. And I shall establish the throne of his reign over Yisra’ฤl forever.’
The first blush meaning seems to clearly show that Shelemoh's throne over Yasharal will be forever because of the immediate inference, but there is much depth to what is stated. Also, Shelemoh was called as Beloved of Yahuah as Yahuah loved him.
2Sa 12:24 And Dawiḏ comforted Bathsheḇa his wife and went into her and lay with her. So, she bore a son, and he called his name Shelomoh. And ืืืื loved him,
Notice scripture names here Bathsheba to be David's wife and the son born was not a first-born son of David but a second son who was Shelemoh. The first son had already died.
2Sa 23:34 Eliphelet son of Aḥasbai, son of the Maสฝaḵathite, Eliyam son of Aḥithophel the Gilonite,
1Ch 3:5 And these were born to him in Yerushalayim: Shamah, and Shoḇaḇ, and Nathan, and Shelomoh – four by Bathshua the daughter of Ammi’ฤl. H5988 (father of Bathsheba also Eliyam)
Eliyam was one of the mighty men of king David and so was UriYah. We get a clue that Eliyam was the son of Ahithophel who a chief counsellor of David was and was a Gilonite (the one who suicided as Absalom who self-proclaimed himself as a king didnt accept his counsel). Giloh was a place in Yahudah and its evident that they were all Yahudites just as David was. Hence, Ahithophel was the grandfather of Bathsheba.
What is important to see here is scripture placed Shelemoh as last in the sons of Bathsheba in 1Chr 3:5.
In this note I have shared how Abraham, Shem were not firstborn of their fathers, but they were placed above their brothers in the first born berekah. Numerous other Messianic ancestors, such as Seth, Yitshaq, Yaaqob, Yahudah, Yahusaph, Ephrayim, Perets, Masha, David, etc. were not firstborn sons but received the firstborn berekah. Shelemoh being placed as last in the sons who were heirs to David's throne is a mystery which we are seeing decoded.
The switch from Shealtiel ties to Nathan: Remember Matthew's genealogy goes from Abraham all the way down to Mashiyach (descent) and Luke's genealogy goes in an ascent to Mashiyach from Elohim. He is the end points of the ladder Yaaqob saw where Messengers were ascending and descending on (John 1:51). Luke shows the beginning from Elohim where He was as Yahuah and Matthew shows the descent down to Him as the Son of Man.
The switch: When we compare Luke 3:27 & Matt 1:12 we see a contradiction in the first blush meaning. But we must understand that Yekonyah died childless. In YarmeYahu 22:28-30 he is termed as KonaYahu and a curse is put on him that he would die childless. Hence, Neri is the loan son in his lineage who kept his name alive in Yasharal while YakonYah/KonaYahu himself died childless as prophesied of him.
Jer 22:28 Is this man Konyahu a despised broken idol? Is he a vessel wherein is no pleasure? Wherefore are they cast out, he and his seed, and are cast into a land which they know not?
Jer 22:29 O earth, earth, earth, hear the Word of Yahuah.
Jer 22:30 Thus says Yahuah, write ye this man childless, a man that shall not prosper in his days: for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting upon the throne of David, and ruling anymore in Yahudah.
Luke 3:27 the son of Yahuchanan, the son of Reysha, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealti’El, the son of Neri,
Luke 3:28 the son of Malki, the son of Addi, the son of Qosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er,
Luke 3:29 the son of Yahushua (Joshua), the son of Eliezer, the son of Yorim, the son of Mattath, the son of Lewi,
Luke 3:30 the son of Shimeon, the son of Yahudah, the son of Yoseph, the son of Yonam, the son of Eliaqim,
Luke 3:31 the son of Malah, the son of Manna, the son of Mattatah, the son of Nathan, the son of Dawid,
Matt 1:12 After the exile to Babel: YekonYahu fathered Shealti’El, and Shealti’El fathered Zerubbabel.
And Neri's lineage is tracked from Nathan to David. In the ZacharYah prophesy we see house of Nathan mourning for the Son as one that is in bitterness over a FIRSTBORN. Where is Shelemoh's house in this mourning?
Zec 12:10 I shall pour out on the house of Dawid and on the inhabitants of Yerushalam, the Spirit of grace and of supplication, so that they shall look on Me whom they have pierced; and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they shall be bitter over Him as one that is in bitterness over a firstborn.
Zec 12:11 In that day there shall be great mourning in Yerushalam, like the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the plain of Megiddon.
Zec 12:12 “And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of Dawiḏ by itself, and their women by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their women by themselves.
According to Yahuah’s curse on Yakonayah he would be destitute and none of his descendants sitting on the throne of David would prosper or rule anymore in Yahudah. Hence, this lineage couldn’t bring forth the Mashiyach. In the 2 genealogies listed some of the sons listed there are not immediate sons of their fathers but descendants. I’m listing just the portions of it to make a point
Matthew Luke |
Yeḵonyah | Addi |
| Meleḵi |
| Neri |

She’alti’ฤl | She’alti’ฤl |
Zerubbaḇel | Zerubbaḇel

1Ch 3:16 And the sons of Yehoyaqim: Yeḵoanyah H3204 his son and Tsiḏqiyah his son.
1Ch 3:17 And the sons of Yaḵonayah H3204 the captive: She’alti’ฤl his son,
1Ch 3:18 and Malkiram, and Peḏayah, and Shenatstsar, Yeqamyah, Hoshama, and Neḏaḇyah.
1Ch 3:19 And the sons of Peḏayah: Zerubbaḇel and Shimสฝi. The sons of Zerubbaḇel: Meshullam, and Ḥananyah, and Shelomith their sister,
According to 1Chr 3:17 Shealtiel is the son of Yekonyah, also, Zerubbabel is listed in both Matthew and Luke genealogy as the son of Shealtiel but is listed as the son of Pedayah, the son of Yakonayah. There is no contradiction in scriptures, the scroll of Chronicles only lists the descendants who carried on their father’s name and lineage as per Torah of the dead man’s name to be kept alive or as per the chief ruler to identify the lineage, and many of them listed in Chronicles are not immediate sons. Moreover, Yakonayah had no sons and this we can know from 2Kings 24:14-15
2Ki 24:14 And he exiled all Yerushalayim, and all the officers and all the mighty brave men – ten thousand exiles – and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest people of the land.
2Ki 24:15 And he exiled Yahoyaḵin H3078 to Baḇel. And the sovereign’s mother, and the sovereign’s wives, and his eunuchs, and the leading men of the land he exiled from Yerushalayim to Baḇel.
Here he is named as Yahoyakin H3078 which means the same as ‘Yahuah will establish firm’ When the king of Babylon carried him away captive, there is no mention of his sons which means that 1Chr 3:17-19 were not his sons but borrowed sons as per Torah. Shealtiel’s father listed in Luke’s genealogy is mentioned as Neri.
Luk 3:27 of Yoḥanan, of Rephayah, of Zerubbaḇel, of She’alti’ฤl, of Neri,
And this lineage is from Nathan, David’s son
1Ki 5:5 “And see, I intend to build a house for the Name of ืืืื my Elohim, as ืืืื spoke to my father Dawiḏ, saying, ‘Your son, whom I set/nathan H5414 on your throne in your place, he does build the house for My Name.’
Shelemoh built the physical house while Nathan built the spiritual house. If you notice the house of Dawid includes Nathan as Nathan was his son but ZecharYah mentioned the David's clan twice because Nathan was not the successor of Daivd. He by the Ruach keeps the difference between the royal seed which eventually died out as YechonaYah was the last of the kings of Yahudah and post exile there was no king in Yahudah but Governor's rule and Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel was a governor. While the physical seed took David's throne, Yahuah was silently building the house of Dawid through Nathan and made the switch at Neri who was the father of Shealtiel.
Zec 12:12 “And the land shall mourn, every family by itself: the family of the house of Dawiḏ by itself, and their women by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their women by themselves.
While the house of Dawid is one, Yahuah deliberately shows us the difference to show us the switch from Shelemoh's kingly theocratic lineage to Nathan's lineage of the governing ruler
Mic 5:2 “But you, Bฤyth Leḥem Ephrathah, you who are little among the clans of Yehuḏah, out of you shall come forth to Me the One to become Ruler/Mashal H4910 in Yisra’ฤl. And His comings forth1 are of old, from everlasting.”
H4910 mashal ๐ค๐ค๐ค means governor: A primitive root; to rule: - (have, make to have) dominion, governor, X indeed, reign, (bear, cause to, have) rule (-ing, -r), have power.
Matthew is precise in quoting Micha's prophecy showing us that Yahusha was also a Governor
Mat 2:6 And you Beyt Lechem, in the land of Yahudah, are not the least among the princes of Yahudah: for out of you shall come a Governor/Mashal, that shall rule my people Yashar’el.
Gen 45:26 And they told him, saying, “Yosฤph is still alive, and he is governor/mashal ๐ค๐ค๐ค H4910 over all the land of Mitsrayim.” And Yaสฝaqoḇ’s heart ceased, for he did not believe them.
While Yahusha is the King of kings (Melek Hamlakim) & Master of masters (Adon ha adoniym), the attribution as governor is to show that Elohim gave His Son as a loan son into David's lineage as a gift, and yes, the word nathan ๐ค๐ค๐ค H5414 in Hebrew means 'gift/to give/lend/trade/let out', also, we saw the word David in Hebrew means 'Beloved/loved'.
John 3:16 “For the Elohim loved those from ancient time/ha olam ๐ค๐ค๐ค
๐ค๐ค with an abundant love, to the extent
that He gave/nathan ๐ค๐ค๐ค His only/yachid ๐ค๐ค๐ค๐ค Son so that all who believes in Him shall not perish
but rather live eternal life. (Revised translation)
Olam H5769 ๐ค๐ค
๐ค๐ค properly concealed, that is, the vanishing point; generally time out of mind (past or future), that is, (practically) eternity; frequentative adverbially (especially with prepositional prefix) always: - always (-s), ancient (time), any more, continuance, eternal, (for, [n-]) ever (-lasting, -more, of old), lasting, long (time), (of) old (time), perpetual, at any time, (beginning of the) world (+ without end)
Olam is generally an eternal time from past to present to without end and gives us an understanding His purpose for His chosen whom He loved from ancient times with a perpetual love never ending.
Yahusha is called as Yahuah Goel i.e. our Kinsman redeemer and David was made the promise as David represents both Ephraim (through Torah of a dead brother son) i.e. a tribe which represents Yasharal as Ephraim received the first born berekah as well as Yahudah. That is why He is able to relate to each and every one of us from the 12 tribes as our Kinsman.
