The Side portion

Gen 32:30  And Yaʽaqoḇ called the name of the place Peni’ĕl, “For I have seen Elohim face to face, and my life is preserved.”

Gen 32:31  And the sun rose on him as he passed over Penu’ĕl, and he limped on his thigh.

Gen 32:32  Therefore the children of Yasharal eat not of the sinew which shrank, which is upon the middle/kaph H3709 of the thigh/yarak H3409, unto this day: because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew that shrank.

Yaaqob wrestled with a man until day break and Yaaqob understood that he was the Messenger of Yahuah and wouldn't let him go and hence the Messenger of Yahuah touched the kaph/middle of his yarak/thigh and the muscle of the thigh shrank but Yaaqob wouldn't let Him go until he blessed him, and his name was changed to Yasharal which has the root words 'yashar' which means 'upright/remnant/straight/plenteous, & 'sharah' which means 'prince' and 'Al' which is the short form for 'Alahym'. Hence, Yaaqob as Yasharal of Alahym means 'The upright prince of Alahym'

The wrestling was significant as his thigh/yarak was disjointed and we have Gen 32:32 recording that the children of Yasharal do not eat of the sinew which shrank which is on the middle of the thigh unto this day. Hence, Yasharal is likened to an sacrificial animal or a sheep/lamb/goat which children of Yasharal eat and they do not eat the portion of the middle of the thigh.

In Torah you will not find a single verse which shows that the priests ate of this thigh/yarak portion, instead it says of the right/yamyin H3225 shoulder/H7785 shuq portion reserved for the kohen/priests

Lev 7:31 And the priest shall burn את eth-the fat upon the altar: but the breast shall be Aharon's and his sons'.

Lev 7:32 And את eth-right/yamyin H3225 shoulder/H7785 shuq shall ye give unto the priest for a heave offering of the sacrifices of your peace offerings.

Lev 7:33 He among the sons of Aharon, that offers את eth-the blood of the peace offerings, and את eth-the fat, shall have the right/yamyin H3225 shoulder/H7785 shuq for his part.

The word 'yarak' which also means 'loins/hip portion down to the thigh, shank/side/shaft' is found in numerous other portions in Torah

The priestly garments were to have linen breeches to cover their nakedness from the waist to the thighs

Exo 28:42  “And make linen trousers for them (Aharon and his sons), to cover their nakedness/aruah H6172 of the flesh/bashar H1320, reaching from the waist to the thighs/yarak H3409.

We have scriptures recording that Yahusha was placed a scarlet robe after He was stripped off his own garments and His tunic was seamless of one piece woven from the top

Matt 27:28 They stripped Him (Yahusha) of His own garments and put a scarlet robe on Him.

John 19:23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Yahusha, took His outer garments and made four parts, a part to every soldier and also the tunic; now the tunic was seamless, woven from the top throughout
Joh 19:24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the Scripture might be fulfilled, which says, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. (Tehilliym 22:18) These things therefore the soldiers did.

We had understood in the earlier study 'The rod of Aluahym',  that Yahusha was the high priest who presided as a high priest over his own sacrifice as the high priest Caiaphas had torn his garments and was disqualified to be a high priest

Lev 10:6 And Mosheh said to Aharon, and to Elʽazar and to Ithamar, his sons, “Do not unbind your heads nor tear your garments, lest you die, and wrath come upon all the people. But let your brothers, all the house of Yisra’ĕl, bewail the burning which יהוה has kindled.
Lev 21:10 ‘And the high priest among his brothers, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is ordained to wear the garments, does not unbind his head nor tear his garments,
Lev 21:11 nor come near any dead body, nor defile himself for his father or his mother,
When Yahusha stood before Caiaphas (Matt 26:62-65) and Caiaphas tears his clothes-he is no longer high priest because now Yahusha is! Also Yahusha's robe could not be torn-it was woven in one piece! A beautiful picture of Messiah as our High Priest!
Mat 26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answer you nothing? what is it which these witness against you? Mat 26:63 But YAHUSHA held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure you by the living EL, that you tell us whether you be HA’MASHIACH, the Son of ELOHIYM. Mat 26:64 YAHUSHA said unto him, You have said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of A’dam sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Mat 26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.
In Yahusha' case, the soldiers rent his outer garment and made 4 parts, but Yahuah didn't allow them to tear his tunic and hence, they cast lots for it.
Heb 9:11 But MASHIACH being come a High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect Tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies to the purifying of the flesh:
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of MASHIACH, who through the eternal RUACH offered himself without spot to את eth-YAHUAH, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living YAH?
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the Mediator of the Renewed Covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were u
nder the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
The writer of Hebrews confirms to us that Mashiyach entered the Most Set Apart place with his OWN BLOOD which shows us that he presided over his own sacrifice at the summit.
Where else is yarak/thigh mentioned in Torah?
Num 5:13 And a man lie with her carnally, and it be hid from the eyes of her man, and be kept close, and she be defiled, and there be no witness against her, neither she be taken
with the manner;
Num 5:14 And the ruach/spirit H7307 of jealousy/qanah H7068 come upon him, and he be jealous of את eth-his woman, and she be defiled: or if the ruach (spirit) of jealousy come upon him, and he be jealous of את eth-his woman, and she be not defiled:
Num 5:15 Then shall the man bring את eth-his woman unto the priest, and he shall bring את eth-her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.
Num 5:16 And the priest shall bring her near, and set her before YAHUAH:
Num 5:17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and of the dust that is in the floor of the Tabernacle the priest shall take, and put it into the water:
Num 5:18 And the priest shall set את eth-the woman before YAHUAH, and uncover את eth-the woman's head, and put את eth the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering: and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water that causes the curse:
Num 5:19 And the priest shall charge her by an oath, and say unto the woman, If no man have lain with you, and if you have not gone aside to uncleanness with another instead of your man, be free from this bitter water that causes the curse:
Num 5:20 But את eth if you have gone aside to another instead of your man, and if you be defiled, and some man have lain את eth-with you beside your man:
Num 5:21 Then the priest shall charge את eth-the woman with an oath of cursing, and the priest shall say unto the woman, YAHUAH make you a curse and an oath among your people, when YAHUAH makes את eth-your thigh/yarak H3409 to rot, and את eth-your belly to swell;
Num 5:22 And this water that causes the curse shall go into your bowels, to make your belly to swell, and your thigh/yarak H3409 to rot: And the woman shall say, Amein, Amein.
The Torah portion says If man with a ruach/spirit of jealousy suspects his wife of adultery, he would bring her to the priest with an offering and the priest would put her under an oath of curse and make her drink the bitter water that causes the curse which would make her belly swell and her yarak/thigh to rot if she had committed adultery. The woman in spiritual adultery was Yasharal who whored away from Yahuah. We have scripture recording that Yahusha took the ruach of qanah/jealously of His wife upon Himself
Mark15:10 For he (Pilate) knew that it was only out of their jealousy/qanah that the chief priests had handed Him over.
He was made to drink the bitter water of curse instead of us. We have Matthew recording that before he was impaled they offered him vinegar mingled with gall and he would not drink
Mat 27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Gulgoleth, that is to say, a place of a skull, Mat 27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.
Mat 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled את eth which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. (Tehilliym 22:18)
And when he was impaled and in the final hours of his sacrifice, He called out to Aluahym ''Alay Alay lamah shabaqtani'' and he was offered the vinegar again, while Matthew still doesn't record of Mashiyach having the bitter water, we have Yahuchanan in his basharah recording Him saying '' I thirst'' to fulfill scripture. Which scripture? Its the bitter water of jealousy Torah portion He fulfilled, by taking his wife's spirit of jealously upon Himself. For Yahuah had said that He is an Aluahym of jealousy.
Mat 27:48 And straightway one of them ran, and took a sponge, and filled it with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink.
Joh 19:28 After this, YAHUSHA knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst.
Joh 19:29 Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
Joh 19:30 When YAHUSHA therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up his ruach (spirit).
Zec 8:1 And the word of יהוה of hosts came, saying, Zec 8:2 “Thus said יהוה of hosts, ‘I shall be jealous/H7065 qana for Tsiyon with great jealousy, with great wrath I shall be jealous/H7065 qana for her.’
Yahusha's belly didn't swell nor his thigh rot for He endured the ruach of jealously/qanah on Himself and the woman was found innocent in Him for we were quickened together with Him in His death. The woman was already saved in childbearing as she had brought forth the man child Mashiyach. Chauah/Eve was the mother of all living and was a type of the wife of Mashiyach
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, has he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all transgressions; Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of dogma that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his stake; Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Num 5:27 ‘And when he has made her drink the water, then it shall be, if she has defiled herself and has committed a trespass against her husband, that the water that brings the curse shall enter her and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh or loins/yarak shall waste away, and the woman shall become a curse among her people. Num 5:28 ‘But if the woman has not defiled herself, and is clean, then she shall be clear and shall conceive children. Num 5:29 ‘This is the Torah of jealousy, when a wife turns aside under her husband’s authority and defiles herself, Num 5:30 or when a spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife. Then he shall make the woman stand before יהוה, and the priest shall do to her all this Torah. Num 5:31 ‘And the man shall be clear from crookedness, but the woman bear her crookedness.’ ”
The thigh/yarak here is in relation to childbearing
1Ti 2:13  Because Aḏam was formed first, then Ḥawwah.
1Ti 2:14  And Aḏam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deceived, fell into transgression.
1Ti 2:15  But she shall be saved in childbearing if they continue in belief, and love, and set-apartness, with sensibleness.
While the scripture was fulfilled when Yahusha actually drank the bitter water of jealousy in place of His wife, it is evident that Yahuah had forgiven the sin of adultery His wife had committed based on His sacrifice for His wife for she was saved in her childbearing.
Gal 3:13 Messiah redeemed us from the curse of the Torah, having become a curse for us – for it has been written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs upon a tree.

Yarak/H3409 in the Lampstand:
Ex25:31 Then you shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand and its base/yarak H3409 and its branch shall be made of hammered work; its cones, its spheres and its buds shall be from it.
Ex25:32 Six branches shall go out from its sides; three branches of the lampstand from its one side and three branches of the lampstand from its other side.
The beauty of the fulfillment of the menorah branch which had the almond bowls which stood before the veil was fulfilled when Yahusha was impaled to the tree of almonds which grew from the rod of Masha which Dawid hid in the mount of Olives. The two zealot's were impaled on the same tree one on the right and one on the left of Yahusha, while Yahusha Himself being on the center of the tree. Yahusha's body on the tree stood as the center branch of the menorah and his two hands and the two hands each of the zealot's make six branches coming out of the center.
Mat 27:44 And also the robbers/charapu who were impaled with Him reviled Him, saying the same.
At that time zealot's were called bandits, He was numbered with the transgressors shows that Yahusha was likened by the accusation to be a zealot/rebel. If zealots were simple robbers they wouldn't have been impaled to the tree. Only those rebelling against the authority of the Roman government went through the punishment of impaling to a tree until death. For Yahusha the punishment was different than these zealot's, they had accused him of rebellion as well as blasphemy, that's why probably he died earlier than the two zealot's as he was stoned after being impaled to the tree.
Pilate marveled if Yahusha was already dead, why would he marvel if impaling would kill someone immediately? It is clear from the zealot's hung along with Yahusha that they were still alive and their legs were broken so that they should die of not being able to breathe, while Yahusha was impaled and then stoned to death. This shows the difference of punishment meted out, one for blasphemy and the other two for rebellion but not blasphemy.
Mar 15:44 And Pilate marveled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.
The table of shew bread:
Exo 40:22 And he put את eth-the table in the tent of the assembly, upon the side/yarak H3409 of the Tabernacle northward, without the veil. Exo 40:23 And he set the bread in order upon it before YAHUAH; as YAHUAH had com manded את eth-Mosheh. Exo 40:24 And he put את eth-the menorah in the tent of the assembly, over against the table, on the side/yarak H3409 of the Tabernacle southward.
The shew bread table had 12 loaves, in rows of 6 each representing the 12 tribes of Yasharal. The table was placed north of the side/yarak of the Tabernacle and menorah/lampstand was placed of the side of the south of the Tabernacle, in the Set-Apart place (outside the veil)
Lev 24:5 And you shall take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake.
Lev 24:6 And you shall set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before YAHUAH.
Lev 24:7 And you shall put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be on the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto YAHUAH.
Heb 9:1 Now the first covenant indeed had regulations of worship and the earthly set-apart place. Heb 9:2 For a Tent was prepared: the first part, in which was the lampstand, and the table, and the showbread, which is called the Set-apart Place. Heb 9:3 And after the second veil, the part of the Tent which is called Most Set-apart, Heb 9:4 to which belonged the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which were the golden pot that held the manna, and the rod of Aharon that budded, and the tablets of the covenant, Heb 9:5 and above it the keruḇim of esteem were overshadowing the place of atonement – about which we do not now speak in detail.
The north of the Tabernacle was significant of Yasharal, while the lampstand seems to be southward, it was southward of the shew bread table, still pointing to the north facing the veil.
Psa 48:1 Great is יהוה, and greatly to be praised In the city of our Elohim, His set-apart mountain. Psa 48:2 Pretty on high, The joy of all the earth, Is Mount Tsiyon on the sides of the north, The city of the great Sovereign.
All burnt offerings were killed on the side/yarak of the altar northward before Yahuah. Yahusha ha Mashiyach is the Yasharal of Aluahym and we are engrafted into Yahuah in Him.

Lev 1:11 And he shall kill it on the side/yarak H3409 of the altar northward before YAHUAH: and the priests, Aharon's sons, shall sprinkle את eth-his blood round about upon the altar.
Speaking of Mashiyach it is said he will gird his sword upon His yarak/thigh, and on His robe and His thigh He has a name written 'Melek hamalakim, Adon ha adonim' (King of kings and Master of masters)
Psa 45:3 Gird your sword upon your thigh/yarak H3409, O most mighty, with your glory and your majesty.
Rev19:16 And on His robe and on His thigh/yarak He has a name written, King of the kings, and Adon of the masters.
Ephrayim is interchangeably used for Yasharal and speaking of Yasharal returning back to Yahuah, Yahuah prophesies of Ephrayim lamenting and striking his yarak/thigh being ashamed of the whoredoms done against Yahuah
Jer 31:18 “I have clearly heard Ephrayim lamenting, ‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised, like an untrained calf. Turn me back, and I shall turn back, for You are יהוה my Elohim. Jer 31:19 ‘For after my turning back, I repented. And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh/yarak H3409. I was ashamed, even humiliated, for I bore the reproach of my youth.’ Jer 31:20 “Is Ephrayim a precious son to Me, a child of delights? For though I spoke against him, I still remembered him. That is why My affections were deeply moved for him. I have great compassion for him,” declares יהוה.
Eze 21:12 Cry and howl, son of A’dam: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Yashar’el: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon את eth-my people: smite therefore upon your thigh/yarak H3409.
Eze 21:13  “For it is a trier, and what if it even despises the ROD or SCEPTRE/SHEBET H7626? Shall it not be?” declares the Master יהוה.
Yahuah tells Ezekiel to smite his yarak/thigh for the sword of His judgement upon His people Yasharal for they despised the ROD/SHEBET i.e. Mashiyach
This rod termed as matah/rod of chastisement or rod of support or branch is called maqalah which means to germinate/shoot forth pointing to Mashiyach whose everlasting priesthood would shoot forth as the blossoms/tsyists from it bringing forth life. This same rod is called as shebet as well as ets in scripture
Gen 49:10 The sceptre/shebet H7626 shall not depart from Yahudah, nor a Torah giver from between his feet, until Shiyloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.
The sceptre/shebet that sprung from the tribe of Yahudah is Mashiyach.
shebet H7626 From an unused root probably meaning to branch off; a scion, that is, (literally) a stick (for punishing, writing, fighting, ruling, walking, etc.) or (figuratively) a clan: - X correction, dart, rod, sceptre, staff, tribe.
Num 24:17 “I see Him, but not now; I observe Him, but not near. A Star shall come out of Yaʽaqoḇ, and a Sceptre/shebet H7626 shall rise out of Yisra’ĕl, and shall smite the corners of Mo’aḇ, and shall destroy all the sons of Shĕth.
Eze 37:16 “And you, son of man, take a stick/ets H6086 for yourself and write on it, ‘For Yehuḏah and for the children of Yisra’ĕl, his companions.’ Then take another stick/ets H6086 and write on it, ‘For Yosĕph, the stick of Ephrayim, and for all the house of Yisra’ĕl, his companions.’
Eze 37:17 “Then bring them together for yourself into one stick, and they shall become one in your hand.
Eze 37:18 “And when the children of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Won’t you show us what you mean by these?’
Eze 37:19 say to them, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “See, I am taking the stick of Yosĕph, which is in the hand of Ephrayim, and the tribes of Yisra’ĕl, his companions. And I shall give them unto him, with the stick of Yehuḏah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in My hand.” ’
Eze 37:20 “And the sticks on which you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.
Eze 37:21 “And speak to them, ‘Thus said the Master יהוה, “See, I am taking the children of Yisra’ĕl from among the gentiles, wherever they have gone, and shall gather them from all around, and I shall bring them into their land.
Eze 37:22 “And I shall make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Yisra’ĕl. And one sovereign shall be sovereign over them all, and let them no longer be two nations, and let them no longer be divided into two reigns.
Eze 37:23 “And they shall no longer defile themselves with their idols, nor with their disgusting matters, nor with any of their transgressions. And I shall save them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and I shall cleanse them. And they shall be My people, and I be their Elohim,
Eze 37:24 while Dawiḏ My servant is sovereign over them. And they shall all have one shepherd and walk in My right-rulings and guard My laws, and shall do them.
Eze 37:25 “And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Yaʽaqoḇ My servant, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell in it, they and their children and their children’s children, forever, and My servant Dawiḏ be their prince forever.
Yahuah uses the word ets H6086 translated here as 'stick'. Ets also means 'tree'
ets H6086 a tree (from its firmness); hence wood (plural sticks): - + carpenter, gallows, helve, + pine, plank, staff, stalk, stick, stock, timber, tree, wood.
The picture is of a rod which is a matah/maqalah/shebet/ets in the hands of Yahudah and Yahusaph whose seed represent the One Malchitsedeq priesthood of Yahusha who will spring forth in bringing and making both these rods/staff as ONE in his hand.
Gen 49:10 “The sceptre/shebet H7626 shall not turn aside from Yehuḏah, nor a Lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, and to Him is the obedience of peoples.
The sceptre/tribe/stick/rod/staff wouldn't turn aside from Yahudah until Mashiyach represented by the name Shiloh, whose name means 'that which belongs to him' would come.
Gen 49:28 All these are the twelve tribes/shebet H7626 of Yashar’el: and this is it that their father spoke unto them, and blessed them; everyone according to his blessing he blessed them.
Hence, we see the smiting of Yaaqob's thigh/yarak significant of his seed smiting their thigh in in shame for rejecting the ROD of Aluahym who is Yahusha, and the children of Yasharal not eating the thigh portion and Torah not mentioning any of the sacrifices where the kaph/middle of the thigh/yarak was offered in burnt offerings for the yarak/thigh of Yahusha was put to test by Aluahym Himself when He drank the bitter water of jealously and his loins did not rot, nor his belly swell and Yahuah shows and exposes His thigh where His name is written 'Melek hamalakim, Adon ha adonim' for He overcame the written dogma of curses by turning them into barakha for us. Shalum!

Horns of the Altar

The Abary word for horn is 'qaran' H7160, H7161 & H7162 and means a horn (as projecting); by implication a flask, cornet; by resemblance an elephant’s tooth (that is, ivory), a corner (of the altar), a peak (of a mountain), a ray (of light); figuratively power: -  X hill, horn.

Sin offering:

Lev 4:4 And he shall bring את eth-the bullock unto the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly before YAHUAH; and shall lay את eth-his hand upon the bullock's head, and kill את eth-the bullock before YAHUAH.
Lev 4:5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the Tabernacle of the assembly:
Lev 4:6 And the priest shall dip את eth-his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before YAHUAH, before את eth-the veil of the sanctuary.
Lev 4:7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before YAHUAH, which is in the Tabernacle of the assembly; and shall pour את eth all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the Tabernacle of the assembly.

The 4 horns on the Brazen altar and the altar of incense:

Exo 27:1 AND you shall make את eth-an altar of shittiym wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits.
Exo 27:2 And you shall make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of one piece: and you shall overlay it with brass.

Exo 30:1 AND you shall make an altar to burn incense upon: of shittiym wood shall you make it.
Exo 30:2 A cubit shall be the length thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof; foursquare shall it be: and two cubits shall be the height thereof: the horns thereof shall be of the same.
Exo 30:3 And you shall overlay it with pure gold, את eth-the top thereof, and את eth-the sides thereof round about, and את eth-the horns thereof; and you shall make unto it a crown of gold round about.

Both the altars were made of shittiym wood but the altar of sacrifice was overlaid with bronze and the altar of incense was overlaid with gold and both the altars had 4 horns, one each on the 4 corners.

What is the significance of horn in scripture?

Speaking of the barakha of Yahusaph, Masha said of him that his horns are like the horns of a wild ox with which he will push the people of Yasharal together to the ends of the earth. Scripture interchangeably uses Yahusaph and Ephrayim his son who received the firstborn barakha representing Yasharal.

Deu 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of  wild ox: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephrayim, and they are the thousands of Menashsheh.

Yaaqob the father of Yahusaph in his barakha mentioned that from here is the Stone of Yasharal, referring to Mashiyach.

Gen 49:22 Yahusaph is a fruitful bough, even a fruitful bough by a well; whose branches run over the wall:
Gen 49:23 The archers have sorely grieved him, and shot at him, and hated him:
Gen 49:24 But his bow abode in strength, and the arms of his hands were made strong by the hands of the mighty ELOHIYM of Ya`aqov; (from thence is The Shepherd, The Stone of Yashar’el:)

2Sa 22:1 AND David spoke unto YAHUAH את eth-the words of this song in the day that YAHUAH had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Sha’ul:
2Sa 22:2 And he said, YAHUAH is my Rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
2Sa 22:3 The ELOHAI of my Rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my yeshu`ah (salvation), my high tower, and my refuge, my Saviour; you save me from violence.

Psa 18:1 To the chief Musician, A Mizmor of David, the servant of YAHUAH, who spoke unto YAHUAH את eth-the words of this song in the day that YAHUAH delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Sha’ul: And he said, - I WILL love you, O YAHUAH, my strength.
Psa 18:2 YAHUAH is my Rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my EL, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my yeshu`ah (salvation), and my high tower.

While horn depicts power/authority/reign, when it comes to Yahuah it also depicts the strength of Yahuah taken hold of in his meekness. Let me illustrate a few examples from scripture.

Gen 22:13  And Aḇraham lifted his eyes and looked and saw behind him a ram caught in a bush by its horns/qaran H7161, and Aḇraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son.

While Abraham was tested to offer up Yitshaq, his only son of his old age who was the promised seed, when Abraham was about to sacrifice him, the Messenger of Yahuah called out to him from the shamayim and told him that now he knows that Abraham feared Yahuah and Abraham saw a ram caught by its HORNS in the thorn bushes. He offered the ram instead of his son and named the place Yahuah Yarah which means 'On the mount Yahuah will be seen'

This was the same place called Mount Moriah on which Shelemoh built the haykal and on the east side was the Mount of Olives which also was one of the peaks of Mount Moriah where our Mashiyach was impaled on the stake.

Gen 22:1 AND it came to pass after these things, that ELOHIYM did try את eth-Avraham, and said unto him, Avraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.
Gen 22:2 And he said, Take now את eth-your son, your את eth-yachiyd את eth-Yitschaq, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriyah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of.

Gen 22:14 And Avraham called the name of that place YAHUAH YIREH: as it is said to this day, In the Mount of YAHUAH shall be seen.

2Ch 3:1  And Shelomoh began to build the House of יהוה at Yerushalayim on Mount Moriyah, where He appeared to his father Dawiḏ, at the place that Dawiḏ had prepared on the threshing-floor of Ornan the Yeḇusite.

The ram caught by his horns in the thorn bushes was a representation of Yahusha ha Mashiyach who would deliver the promised seed of Abraham from the death penalty. The ram caught by its horns is significance of Abraham being able to take hold of the strength of Yahuah in His meekness. No creature in heaven or on earth can overcome Yahuah in getting hold of His strength unless He chooses to deliver Himself to be sacrificed.

Isa 27:4  “Wrath is not in Me. Who would set thornbushes and weeds against Me in battle? I would go through them, I would burn them together.
Isa 27:5  “Or let him take hold of My strength and make peace with Me. Let him make peace with Me!”
Isa 27:6  Those who come He causes to take root in Yaʽaqoḇ, Yisra’ĕl shall blossom and bud. And they shall fill the face of the world with fruit.

In YashaYahu 27 we read Yahuah saying who would set thornbushes and weeds against Him in battle? If any one does, He would go through them and would burn them together. And who could take hold of His strength and make peace with Him and yet we see in his meekness He delivered himself as the ram caught by its horns in the thorn bushes and wasn't a crown of thorns placed on his head and wasn't he whipped with the whips of thorns and we get hold of his strength in His meekness and thus He is the qaran/horn of our salvation. In verse 6 of YashaYahu 27 Yahuah says 'Those who come He causes to take root in Yaaqob'. We make peace/shalum with Him in His meekness which is actually not His weakness.

Speaking about Mashiyach, ZacharYah the father of Yahuchanan the Immerser said this about Mashiyach

Luk 1:67 And his father Zakaryahu was filled with the RUACH HA’QODESH, and prophesied, saying,
Luk 1:68 Blessed be YAHUAH ELOHIYM of Ya shar’el; for he has visited and redeemed his people,
Luk 1:69 And has raised up a horn of yeshu`ah (salvation) for us in the house of his servant David;
Luk 1:70 As he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began:
Luk 1:71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;

Coming back to the horns of the altar:

Exo 27:2“Make a horn at each of the four corners, so that the horns and the altar are of one piece”

While Torah clearly instructs who is eligible to come close to the altar to offer sacrifices i.e. Aharon and his sons and no common man, there is a text in Torah which speaks of only when a common man of Yasharal could approach the brazen altar. Lets read Exo 21:13-14

Exo 21:13 And if a man lie not in wait, but ELOHIYM deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint you a place whither he shall flee.
Exo 21:14 But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

When a man by mistakenly murdered his neighbour the place Yahuah made for him to flee was the altar where he could run and take hold of the horns of the altar. verse 14 is clear as to what to do with him who deliberately killed his neighbour and took hold of the horns of the altar, he was to be be taken away from the altar. While the word horns is missing but we understand this from the following account.

1Ki 1:50 And Adoniyahu feared because of Shalomah, and arose, and went, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.
1Ki 1:51 And it was told Shalomah, saying, Behold, Adoniyahu fears king Shalomah: for, lo, he has caught hold on the horns of the altar, saying, Let את eth-king Shalomah swear unto me today that he will not slay את eth-his servant with the sword.
1Ki 1:52 And Shalomah said, If he will show himself a worthy man, there shall not a hair of him fall to the earth: but if wickedness shall be found in him, he shall die.
1Ki 1:53 So king Shalomah sent, and they brought him down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Shalomah: and Shalomah said unto him, Go to your house.

Once David found out he proclaims Solomon as King and Adonijah was afraid that Solomon might kill him. His immediate reaction was to run the altar and grab the horns of the altar and ask for mercy. He received it that day. While Shelemoh showed him mercy and released him but because he asked for Abishag the Shunammite (David's concubine) as wife, he was put to death. On hearing this Yoab, David's commandar also went and took hold of the horns of the altar but was killed as per Torah for he had consipired against the death of 2 righteus men without David's knowledge

1Ki 2:28  And news came to Yo’aḇ, for Yo’aḇ had turned aside after Aḏoniyah, though he did not turn aside after Aḇshalom. And Yo’aḇ fled to the Tent of יהוה, and took hold of the horns of the altar.
1Ki 2:29  And the report came to Sovereign Shelomoh that Yo’aḇ had fled to the Tent of יהוה, and see, he is by the altar. Then Shelomoh sent Benayahu son of Yehoyaḏa, saying, “Go, fall on him.”
1Ki 2:30  So Benayahu came to the Tent of יהוה and said to him, “Thus said the sovereign, ‘Come out!’ ” And he said, “No, for here I die.” And Benayahu brought back word to the sovereign, saying, “Thus said Yo’aḇ, and thus he answered me.”
1Ki 2:31  And the sovereign said to him, “Do as he has said, and fall upon him. And you shall bury him, so that you take away from me and from the house of my father the blood which Yo’aḇ shed without cause.
1Ki 2:32  “Thus יהוה shall return his blood on his head, because he had fallen on two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, while my father Dawiḏ did not know it: Aḇnĕr son of Nĕr, commander of the army of Yisra’ĕl, and Amasa son of Yether, commander of the army of Yehuḏah.

So taking hold of the horns of the altar was indeed a place of refuge for the innocent.

The horns on the altar where the blood of the sacrifice was applied while the lamb lay slain in the grill of the brazen altar as a burnt offering was a shadow of Mashiyach who was impaled by his hands and his feet on the stake, enduring the wrath of Yahuah as the fire of the sacrifice for us. His strength was subjected by Himself in His meekness to make Shalum through the blood of His stake with us.

Torah says the altar was most set-apart and there was a seven days atonement made for the altar which is a picture of the 7 days of creation where each day is as thousand years and thousand years as one day.

Exo 29:37  “For seven days you shall make atonement for the altar, and set it apart. And the altar shall be most set-apart – whatever touches the altar is to be set-apart.

We saw the horns of Yahusaph would push his seed Ephrayim and Menasheh to the ends of the world. Hence, the 4 horns on the 4 sides of the altar where the altar itself was a four square is a picture of the seed of Yahusaph i.e. the lost sheep of the house of Yasharal come back to the place of worship at the foot of the stake realizing Mashiyach is their horn of their salvation. Number 4 depicts the scattered seed of Yasharal to the four corners of the earth whom Yahuah says He would gather them back unto Himself.

Psa 118:26  Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of Yahuah. We shall bless you from the House of יהוה.
Psa 118:27  יהוה is Ěl, and He gave us light; Bind the festival/chag H2282 with wreathen/intertwined work/abatah H5688 to the horns/qaran H7161 of the altar/mazbach H4196.

Mat 23:37  “Yerushalayim, Yerushalayim, killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her! How often I wished to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, but you would not!
Mat 23:38  “See! Your house is left to you laid waste,
Mat 23:39  for I say to you, from now on you shall by no means see Me, until you say, ‘Blessed is He who is coming in the Name of יהוה!

Abath ( עֲבֹת) H5688 means The same as H5687; something intwined, that is, a string, wreath or foliage: - band, cord, rope, thick bough (branch), wreathen (chain).

The intertwined or wreathen/chain work was in ephod of Aharon in his breast plate in which were the Urim and the Thummim where each onynx stone bore 6 tribe names on them. Urim means lights and Thummim means 'perfection'

Exo 28:2 And you shall make holy garments for Aharon your brother for glory and for beauty.

Exo 28:10 Six of their names on one stone, and את eth-the other six names of the rest on the other stone, according to their birth.
Exo 28:11 With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shall you את eth-engrave the two stones with the names of the children of Yashar’el: you shall make them to be set in ouches of gold.
Exo 28:12 And you shall put את eth-the two stones upon the shoulders of the ephod for stones of memorial unto the children of Yashar’el: and Aharon shall bear את eth-their names before YAHUAH upon his two shoulders for a memorial.
Exo 28:13 And you shall make ouches of gold;
Exo 28:14 And two chains of pure gold at the ends; of wreathen work shall you make them, and fasten את eth-the wreathen/abath H5688 chains to the ouches.

Exo 28:30 And you shall put in the breastplate of judgment את eth-the Uriym and את eth-the Tummiym; and they shall be upon Aharon's heart, when he goes in before YAHUAH: and Aharon shall bear את eth-the judgment of the children of Yashar’el upon his heart before YAHUAH continually.

The chag/festival offerings of Yahuah were bound intertwined to the horns of the altar and the fire of the altar would cause the horns of the altar to radiate the light of the sacifice, just as the Urim and the Thummim would radiate the light of the judgment taken by Yahusha ha Mashiyach our kahan ha gadul/high priest who bore the judgment before Yahuah

qaran H7161 also means 'a ray of light'. This so perfectly fits together and intertwined in Torah with a twisted cord which only those taking hold of the horns of the altar would see and understand.

The incense altar was atoned once a year on Yom Kippur by the high priest. He would bring the blood of the red heifer/adam parah and apply it on the horns of the altar and with much incense he would come in so that there would be a lot of smoke and so that he doesn't look upon the esteem of Yahuah behind the veil when he does the atonement for Yasharal and doesnt get killed.

Exo 30:10 And Aharon shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it is most holy unto YAHUAH.

This sacrifice of the Red Heifer is also likened to the sacrifice of Mashiyach as he suffered without the gate, at the same place where the mikphad altar was where this Red heifer was sacrificed.

Heb 13:10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the Tabernacle.
Heb 13:11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
Heb 13:12 Wherefore YAHUSHA also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
Heb 13:13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.

The ashes of the red heifer were placed outside the haykal for the outcasts of Yasharal to cleanse themselves while they enter into worshiping Yahuah in the haykal.

The vision of the four horns:

Zec 1:18 Then lifted I up את eth-my eyes, and saw, and behold four horns.
Zec 1:19 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What be these? And he answered me, These are the horns which have scattered את eth-Yahudah, את eth-Yashar’el, and Yeru shalayim.
Zec 1:20 And YAHUAH showed me four craftsmen.
Zec 1:21 Then said I, What come these to do? And he spoke, saying, These are the horns which have scattered את eth-Yahudah, so that no man did lift up his head: but these are come to fray them, to cast out את eth-the horns of the Gentiles, which lifted up their horn over the land of Yahudah to scatter it.

The four horns scattered Yahudah and Yasharal so that no man would lift up his head, the 4 horns are likened to 4 craftsmen who would fray them to cast out the horns of the Gentiles.

This can be seen in the blowing of the trumpet of the sixth messenger where a voice came forth from the four horns of the golden altar. This golden altar was the altar of incense. Remember, we read the Torah portion where the altar with its four horns, where the animal sacrifices were offered was made of brass of one piece and the incense altar with its horns was made of pure gold of one piece.

Rev 9:13  And the sixth messenger sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before Elohim,
Rev 9:14  saying to the sixth messenger who had the trumpet, “Release the four messengers, those having been bound at the great river Euphrates.”

The voice commanded the sixth messenger to release the 4 messengers bound at the great river Euphrates to plague the nations. There were 4 river headss that flowed from Eden and Euphrates was the FOURTH.

Gen 2:14  And the name of the third river is Ḥiddeqel, it is the one which goes toward the east of Ashshur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

Rev 9:15  And the four messengers, those having been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released to kill a third of mankind.

Qaran/horns has the root words 'qar', a root word in qara which means 'call', 'ran' which is root word in ranan which 'shout' and 'qan' a root word in 'qanan'  which means 'nest' where The pictograph 'quph' is a picture of the sun at the horizon and the gathering of the light, the 'nun' is a picture of a seed. Combined these mean "gathering for the seeds". The parent birds go about gathering materials to build a nest where they will raise their seeds (eggs).

While Yahuah sends out His judgments to the four ends of the earth, His purpose is to call and shout to His promised seed to gather them into His nest while He will destroy the horns of the altar of Beyth El where the golden calf was worshiped because of which he scattered Yasharal to the ends of the earth .

Amo 3:13  “Hear and witness against the house of Yaʽaqoḇ,” declares the Master יהוה, the Elohim of hosts.
Amo 3:14  “For in the day I visit Yisra’ĕl for their transgressions, I shall also punish concerning the altars of Bĕyth Ěl. And the horns of the altar shall be broken, and they shall fall to the ground.

Hab 3:3  Eloah comes from Tĕman, And the Set-apart One from Mount Paran. Selah. His splendour shall cover the heavens, And His praise shall fill the earth.
Hab 3:4  And the brightness is as the light, He has rays/horns (qaran) from His hand, And there His power is hidden.

The horns/rays from Yahusha's hands where His power is hidden is the nail prints, the strength of Yahuah in His meekness.
