Lot's wife

We have read about Lot’s wife becoming a pillar of salt and derived a moral out of the account of not lusting of the things in Sodom and Gomorrah which is true but we also need to look at the spiritual aspect of this and therefore we must compare spiritual with spiritual to understand what or who Lot’s wife represents.

Lu 17:31 In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

 32 Remember Lot's wife.

Why would one who is upon the housetop come down to enter the house to take what's in the house when one would know that Jezebel is in the house? Why would one who is in the field return back to enter the house? One who would do so is decieved into believing a Mystery Babylon gospel. Similarly why would Lot's wife look back. There more to just looking back and we must see it in spiritual comparison what all this means?

Firstly we will look at the words ‘PILLAR OF SALT’ and compare with the rest of the bible to see what this spiritually means.

Ge 19:25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.26 ¶ But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar (nets-eeb) of salt (melach).

Hebrew word for ‘pillar’: nets-eeb which means  ‘garrison’ (a group of troops)
1Sa 10:5 After that thou shalt come to the hill of Alahim, where is the garrison (netseeb) of the Philistines: and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a company of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a tabret, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they shall prophesy:

2Ch 17:2 And he placed forces in all the fenced cities of Judah, and set garrisons (netseeb) in the land of Judah, and in the cities of Ephraim, which Asa his father had taken.

Hebrew word for ‘salt’: melach

The verse should read as:

Ge 19:25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.26 ¶ But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a garrison (nets-eeb) of salt (melach).

The usage of salt in scripture has been to portray the covenant of Alahim with his people and their speech which brings about savour/seasoning to the meal

Mt 5:13 ¶ Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

Col 4:6 Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

Losing the savour doesn’t mean here that the salt is no longer salt but that it’s mingled with impurities of other salts making it of a bad taste (as salt of the dead sea with all minerals mingled with the salt) not good for using it in a meal but to be thrown to be trodden under foot of men.

This is how the Greek reads and the correct translation would be:

Mat 5:13  υμεις εστε το αλας της γης εαν δε το αλας μωρανθη εν τινι αλισθησεται εις ουδεν ισχυει ετι ει μη βληθηναι εξω και καταπατεισθαι υπο των ανθρωπων

Mt 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

Salt can never lose its saltiness but will lose its flavor which would make the meal good for nothing.
Before we see the imagery of ‘garrison of salt’ which Lot’s wife became let’s see the usage of salt in scripture.

Every meat offering according to the law had to offered with salt and salt represented the ‘COVENANT OF GOD’ with his people.

Le 2:13 And every oblation of thy meat offering shalt thou season with salt; neither shalt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy Alahim to be lacking from thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou shalt offer salt.

The salt losing its flavor and being thrown and trampled under foot by men is the covenant of Alahim is changed by adding abominable doctrines of men to it making it powerless to save.

The usage of the word ‘netseeb’ in Gen 19:25 which should be translated as ‘GARRISON’ shows exactly this because Lot’s wife held on to a covenant mingled with the abominations of Sodom and Gomorrah and Alahim turning her into a ‘garrison of salt’ is a picture of this.

The gospel of Mark shows the usage of the salt in the context of salt being used in meat offerings according to the law.

Mr 9:49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.
50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.

Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of Alahim, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

Mingling the covenant of Alahim with unholy things i.e. abominable doctrines of men is trodding under foot the Son of Alahim.

Messiah is the one who is the sweet smelling savour and our belief in the true doctrine of Messiah brings the sweet savour of Messiah into our lives

2Co 2:15 For we are unto Alahim a sweet savour of Messiah, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

16 To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things?

Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Messiah also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to Alahim for a sweetsmelling savour.

2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers (Covenant breakers), false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of Alahim;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Ro 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain Alahim in their knowledge, Alahim gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of Alahim, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers (treacherous), without natural affection, implacable (covenant breakers), unmerciful:

The beast came up out of the sea which brought a gospel/covenant mingled making the salt abominable and trampled.

Re 13:1 ¶ And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

While the usage of ‘sea’ in scripture is for peoples, nations and tongues we must not forget that these are the very people who are holding a covenant which seems to be godly but godliness without power and sea is always associated with salt.

Joe 2:20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army, and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.

Jer 10:22 Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.

The northern army or the north country is associated with Babylon. Alahim is saying in Joel 2:20 that he will remove from his people the northern army (seperation of tares from wheat) and will drive him into a barren land toward the UTMOST SEA where his ILL SAVOUR shall come up.

De 29:19 And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
20 The YAHUAH will not spare him, but then the anger of the YAHUAH and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the YAHUAH shall blot out his name from under heaven.
21 And the YAHUAH shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the YAHUAH hath laid upon it;
23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the YAHUAH overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
24 Even all nations shall say, Wherefore hath the YAHUAH done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the YAHUAH Alahim of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt:
26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them:

Salted with fire

Mr 9:49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Lu 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

Lot’s wife may have seemed to escape the brimstone for a while fleeing out of Sodom and Gomorrah but she was salted with the fire of Alahim’s wrath when Alahim turned her into a garrison of salt to be trampled underfoot. Lot’s wife represents all those trying to flee Mystery Babylon but are part of her abominable covenant because they hold on to doctrines of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Good comparison of scripture with scripture. Remember Lot's wife! - is a warning from our Lord which only the elect heed to by His grace. We can't go back to the false traditional teachings that we were subjected to. God gives His elect hidden manna. Outside of the true Biblical Christ there can be only confusion.
