Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Yahusha Messiah, which Alahim gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
When we read Rev 1:1 the one thing would definitely make the reader wonder why would Alahim give Messiah a Revelation of himself to show unto his servants? A Unitarian response to the above verse that I have read is that the Word was made flesh in Messiah and as he grew up as a child Alahim revealed his plan to him and his role as a sacrifical lamb and the glory to follow him for his obedience. On a surface level this may appease to carnal senses but Alahim's word is a spiritual book and hence one must be spiritually alive to understand spiritual things and compare them with spiritual things.
Many people view book of Revelation as 'a book of prophecy' because they only see future events in the book. What man fails to see is that the entire Bible is a book of prophecy and the 'spirit of prophecy' was in the prophets who prophesied beforehand of the sufferings of Messiah, and the glory that should follow.
1Pe 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Messiah, and the glory that should follow.
There is a need to correct the misunderstanding of the word 'prophecy'. The dictionaries in the world interpret prophecy as 'a prediction of what will happen in the future' but a biblical interpretation of prophecy is stated in Rev 19:10 ' the testimony of Yahusha is the spirit of prophecy'
Re 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Yahusha: worship Alahim: for the testimony of Yahusha is the spirit of prophecy.
This spirit of prophecy is not only a prediction of future events but a sealing of Messiah in prophecy as all the law and the prophets speak and testify of him
Joh 6:27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him (Messiah) hath Alahim the Father sealed.
Messiah being sealed in imagery, parabolic language, signs, sybolisms, signification is PROPHECY.
Pr 25:2 ¶ It is the glory of Alahim to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.
A surface reader will never understand who Messiah is because he is sealed in prophecy and therefore Rev 1:1 and many other scriptures are interpreted carnally because unless Messiah reveals himself by unsealing himself to those whom he chooses to draw near man will never understand prophecy.
Let's now move along to understand what it means that the Revelation of Yahusha Messiah which Alahim gave him to show unto his servants:
To understand this we must compare the 2 Covenants and 2 Mediators
Two covenants:
Heb 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of Alahim when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6 ¶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Yahuah, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Yahuah.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Yahuah; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a Alahim, and they shall be to me a people:
Exodus 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of Alahim.
When we read Heb 8:5-10 and Exodus 31:18 we spiritually understand that the first covenant came on 2 tablets of stone written by the finger of Alahim and the second covenant came on 2 tablets MIND AND HEART still written by the finger of Alahim. Alahim tells us that the new covenant will not be like the old one "BECAUSE THEY CONTINUED NOT IN MY COVENANT" Heb 8:5
Ga 4:22 For it is written, that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman.
23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise.
24 Which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar.
25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.
26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Those who couldn't see Messiah sealed in prophecy are the sons of the bondwoman and are in bondage wrapped in carnal ordinances whereas those who can see Messiah sealed in prophecy are part of the Jerusalem from above.
On the NT side people view these passages to relate them to Jews who did not believe in Messiah without realizing that its speaking of themselves because they do not understand the imageries, signs, parabolic language, symbolisms and the signification and take scriptures at face value. The Jerusalem which now is which Paul speaks of in Gal 4: 25 is Mystery Babylon because this is a kingdom which existed within Alahim's kingdom and here the 'spirit of prophecy' lies silenced on it's streets and this city is called Sodom and EGYPT where our Yahuah Messiah was crucified.
Re 11:8 And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Yahuah was crucified.
Heb 8: 9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Yahuah.
Though these people came out physically from Egypt, Egypt was in their heart when they read Alahim's law, Alahim's law which is spiritual being veiled to them.
Re 17:18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.
2 Mediators:
Paul and Stephen recorded that the law was given by the disposition of angels in Acts 7:53 and Gal 3:19
Galatians 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Moses being the Mediator of the Old covenant which had in it encoded the way to Messiah and a call to observe it spiritually and was a sure testimony of death to its carnal observance.
We read in Rev 11:8 'WHERE ALSO OUR YAHUAH WAS CRUCIFIED'. A spiritual comparison shows that the Mediator Messiah is the spirit of prophecy himself embodied (Logos made flesh) and sealed in angelic signification having come out from Alahim (John 16:27, John 17:8)
When we read Rev 1:1 in spiritual comparison we can understand this passage better when we compare the two mediators and the two covenants.
The spirit of prophecy is the very breath of Alahim giving mankind golden oil and Messiah is that breath made flesh.
Zec 4:12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What be these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?
13 And he answered me and said, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.
14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones (ben: means sons), that stand by the Yahuah of the whole earth.
The TWO TABLETS, TWO COVENANTS, TWO MEDIATORS and the TWO SONS (as stated in Zec 4:14) testify of the SON OF GOD and the testimony given by Alahim himself.
1Jo 5:9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of Alahim is greater: for this is the witness of Alahim which he hath testified of his Son.
10 ¶ He that believeth on the Son of Alahim hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not Alahim hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that Alahim gave of his Son.
11 And this is the record, that Alahim hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of Alahim hath not life.
THE LIFE OF GOD is in his Son who came out from Alahim and stands a Mediator and in his Sonship gives the golden oil to all the adopted sons of Alahim. He is the one who gives us the right to be called the sons of Alahim.
Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Alahim, even to them that believe on his name:
Messiah said that the doctrine he teaches was not his but of him who sent him.Abiding in the doctrine of Messiah one has both the Father and the Son.
John 7:16-17 Yahusha answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. [17] If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of Alahim, or whether I speak of myself.
2Jo 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Messiah, hath not Alahim. He that abideth in the doctrine of Messiah, he hath both the Father and the Son.
What is this doctrine which is not his but of Alahim's as stated by Messiah in John 7:16-17 and yet John says in 2 John 1:9 'doctrine of Messiah'? It seems like a contradiction.
But when we read Rev 1:1 in spiritual comparison and understand what the two tablets, two covenants, two Mediators, two sons are, can we reconcile that in the Doctrine of Alahim written on two tablets, the two covenants, the two Mediators and two sons is all ABOUT CHRIST.
The testimony of Alahim is seen in the law: cherubs overshadowing mercy seat, tablets of covenant, Aaron's rod that budded, manna, sprinkling of blood, feasts, sacrifices, ordinances etc all spoke of Messiah.
Here was Messiah standing and saying that he is not testifying of himself but of what he has heard from the Father.
Joh 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
The spirit of prophecy is Messiah himself, the very breath of Alahim externalized and emodied in flesh.
1Pe 1:11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Messiah which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Messiah, and the glory that should follow.
2Co 3:17 Now the Yahuah is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Yahuah is, there is liberty.
Re 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Yahusha: worship Alahim: for the testimony of Yahusha is the spirit of prophecy.
Being on the NT side doesn't mean that Messiah is unveiled to every one because his Revelation was still SIGNIFIED and sent by his angel unto his servant John
Re 1:1 ¶ The Revelation of Yahusha Messiah, which Alahim gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Re 22:16 I Yahusha have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.
The Revelation is of who Yahusha is given to us in his Mediatorship signified by his angel is what Rev 1:1 means.
Joh 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
When we read Rev 1:1 the one thing would definitely make the reader wonder why would Alahim give Messiah a Revelation of himself to show unto his servants?
