The 120 years span

Gen 6: 3  And יהוה said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever for he is flesh/ bashar gone astray/shagag, and his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

Many people reading this scripture take it at face value stating man's age post the flood was limited to 120 years but we must look into scriptures to find out whether this is true.

This we can do when we look at the ages of the father's who lived post the flood

Gen 9:29 And all the days of Noach were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died.

Gen 11:10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem was a hundred years old, and begat את eth-Arpakshad two years after the flood:

Gen 11:11 And Shem lived after he begat את eth-Arpakshad five hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:12 And Arpakshad lived five and thirty years, and begat את eth-Shelach:

Gen 11:13 And Arpakshad lived after he begat את eth-Shelach four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:14 And Shelach lived thirty years, and begat את eth-Eber:

Gen 11:15 And Shelach lived after he begat את eth-Eber four hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:16 And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat את eth-Peleg:

Gen 11:17 And Eber lived after he begat את eth-Peleg four hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:18 And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Re`u:

Gen 11:19 And Peleg lived after he begat את eth-Re`u two hundred and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:20 And Re`u lived two and thirty years, and begat את eth-Serug:

Gen 11:21 And Re`u lived after he begat את eth-Serug two hundred and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:22 And Serug lived thirty years, and begat את eth-Nachor:

Gen 11:23 And Serug lived after he begat את eth-Nachor two hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:24 And Nachor lived nine and twenty years, and begat את eth-Terach:

Gen 11:25 And Nachor lived after he begat את eth-Terach a hundred and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

Gen 11:26 And Terach lived seventy years, and begat את eth-Avram, את eth-Nachor, and את eth-Haran.

Gen 11:27 Now these are the generations of Terach: Terach begat את eth-Avram, את eth-Nachor, and את eth-Haran; and Haran begat את eth-Lot.

Gen 11:28 And Haran died before his father Terach in the land of his nativity, in Ur of the Kasdiym.

Gen 11:29 And Avram and Nachor took them women: the name of Avram’s woman was Sarai; and the name of Nachor's woman, Milkah, the daughter of Haran, the father of Milkah, and the father of Yickah.

Gen 11:30 But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

Gen 25:7 And these are all the years of Aḇraham’s life which he lived: one hundred and seventy-five years.

Gen 11:31 And Terach took את eth-Avram his son, and את  eth-Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and את eth-Sarai his daughter in law, his son Avram’s woman; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Kasdiym, to go into the land of Kena`an; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

Gen 11:32 And the days of Terach were two hundred and five years: and Terach died in Haran.

All these father's lived post the flood and they lived more than 120 years. Some read into the text stating that the ages were in a declining mode and it took time until man was finally living for not more than 120 years

Gen 23:1 AND Sarah was a hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

Gen 35:28  And the days of Yitsḥaq were one hundred and eighty years.

Gen 47:28  And Yaʽaqoḇ lived in the land of Mitsrayim seventeen years. So the length of Yaʽaqoḇ’s life was one hundred and forty-seven years.

Psalms 90 is a prayer of Masha the servant of Yahuah and he says the days of our lives are 70 years and if due to strength 80 years and yet he lived up to 120 years which we will see in a bit.

Psalms 90:10 The days of our lives are seventy years; Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet the best of them is but toil and exertion; For it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

Hence, the 120 years mentioned in Gen 6:3 has to have a meaningful disposition

Let's begin by seeing Adam's age. Adam lived 930 years and he died

Genesis 5:5 reads, “And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died.

We know when Adam was in the garden of Eden, Yahuah told him that in the day he would eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, he would surely die. Did Adam die the same day he ate from the tree? No, he didn't, as we have scripture recording, he lived up to 930 years and he died.

Hence, the day that he would die in Gen 2:17 is 1000 years short which none of the father's lived up to.

For even Methuselah the longest one to live was 969 years

Gen 5:27 So all the days of Methushelaḥ were nine hundred and sixty-nine years, and he died.

None of the father's attained 1000 years or One day as per Yahuah s measure as stated in 2Pet3:8

1000 years as One Day and One Day as 1000 years

2Pe 3:8  But, beloved ones, let not this one matter be hidden from you: that with יהוה one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

It is interesting to see that the first man Yahuah created was nameless as Adam is not a name

Gen 5:1  This is the book of the genealogy of Aḏam. In the day that Elohim created man, He made him in the likeness of Elohim.

Gen 5:2  Male and female He created them, and He blessed them, and called their name ‘Aḏam’ in the day they were created.

Eve/Chauah was the first one to be named and she became the mother of all living and she represents Yerushalayim whose children were subjected to bondage which the last Adam i.e. Mashiyach who was named as Yahusha which means Yahuah is Salvation, who would deliver her seed from bondage of corruption

Gen 3:20 And A’dam called his woman’s name Chuah; because she was the mother of all living.

Gen 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.

Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in sorrow you shall bring forth children; and your desire shall be to your man, and he shall rule over you.

When we come back to read Gen 6:3 we see the nameless man representing his kind mentioned

Genesis 6:3 the word ‘man’ is from the Hebrew adam (H120 in the Strongs). So the verse is more likely referring to Adam since all mankind originated from him.

Gen 6:3 And YAHUAH said, My RUACH shall not always strive with man/adam H120, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be a hundred and twenty years.

The nameless race will receive an inheritance and name given by Yahusha ha Mashiyach Himself i.e. His renewed name.

Rev 2:17 He that has an ear, let him hear את eth what the RUACH says unto the called out assemblies; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knows saving he that receives it.

Rev 3:12  “He who overcomes, I shall make him a supporting post in the Dwelling Place of My Elohim, and he shall by no means go out. And I shall write on him the Name of My Elohim and the name of the city of My Elohim, the renewed Yerushalayim, which comes down out of the heaven from My Elohim, and My renewed Name.

Rev 3:13  “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.”

Gen 6:3 The bashar gone astray/shagag:

Most translations omit the words 'flesh gone astray' which in Hebrew mentioned is 'bashar shagam'

Gen 6: 3  And יהוה said, “My Spirit shall not strive/plead with man forever for he is flesh/ bashar gone astray/shagam, and his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”

And the word 'bashar' H1319 which also means 'Good news' is corrupted by the erring flesh/bashar shagam of man

The 120 years mystery:

The pattern inbuilt is 6 days creation and 7th day when Yahuah rested

We also see in the Shemittah cycle 6 years of sowing and 7th year a Shabbath rest for the land, where each one eats of what grows of itself

Lev 25 six years sowing and reaping and 7th year a year when the land rests in its Shabbath

Lev 25:1  And יהוה spoke to Mosheh on Mount Sinai, saying,

Lev 25:2  “Speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, and say to them, ‘When you come into the land which I give you, then the land shall observe a Sabbath to יהוה.

Lev 25:3  ‘Six years you sow your field, and six years you prune your vineyard, and gather in its fruit,

Lev 25:4  but in the seventh year the land is to have a Sabbath of rest, a Sabbath to יהוה. Do not sow your field and do not prune your vineyard.

And the 7 x 7 +1 is the yobel/Jubilee in which the land rests 8 times i.e. each 7th year and then the 50th years. The significance of Yahuah's rest on 7th day is eternal as it goes on to the 8th day where number eight in Hebrew is 'shamanah/shamunah' H8083 which has a root word in it i.e. shemen which means oil

Lev 25:8  ‘And you shall count seven Sabbaths of years for yourself, seven times seven years. And the time of the seven Sabbaths of years shall be to you forty-nine years.

Lev 25:9  ‘You shall then sound a ram’s horn to pass through on the tenth day of the seventh month, on the Day of Atonement cause a ram’s horn to pass through all your land.

Lev 25:10  ‘And you shall set the fiftieth year apart, and proclaim release throughout all the land to all its inhabitants, it is a Jubilee for you. And each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you return to his clan.

Lev 25:11  ‘The fiftieth year is a Jubilee to you. Do not sow, nor reap what grows of its own, nor gather from its unpruned vine.

The 120 years is accounted from Adam where each day doesn't stand for a 1000 years but the 6000 years (120 (jubilee's) x 50) to a release of the erring flesh (bashar shagam)

In Isaiah 61:1 & 2 and in Luke 4:18 & 19, we hear the voice of Yahusha declaring liberty from debt, referring to the price of death we must pay for our sins. He took on our burden and paid our debts on our behalf. Shemitah means ‘to release.’

This release was prophesied by Masha the servant of Yahuah at the appointed time and this became a norm in Yasharal where the entire Torah was read on every 7th i.e. Shabbath year during the Feast of Tabernacles

Deu 31:9  And Mosheh wrote this Torah and gave it to the priests, the sons of Lĕwi, who bore the ark of the covenant of יהוה, and to all the elders of Yisra’ĕl.

Deu 31:10  And Mosheh commanded them, saying, “At the end of seven years, at the appointed time, the year of release/shemittah H8059, at the Festival of Booths,

Deu 31:11  when all Yisra’ĕl comes to appear before יהוה your Elohim in the place which He chooses, read this Torah before all Yisra’ĕl in their hearing.

Hence, the completion of Torah was prophesied on a Shabbath year which is the year of release/shemittah.

The debt paid for the erring flesh to be transformed into His image and likeness would happen at the end of these 120 years of jubilee's

120 years of  Yobel's (120 x 50), equals 6,000 years, and from the birth of Adam to the death of Messiah is 4,000 years, as Scriptures record  "who begot who and what year"

"Destroy this Temple, and on the third day I will raise it up again." -YaHusha/ יהושע

So when Yahusha stood it was 4000 years from Adam

Hence, the 3 days is 3 x 1000 when the Tabernacle will descend from heaven in the Master Himself..the New Yerushalayim

Hoshea also says about return of lost sheep of Yasharal, after 2 days he will revive us and the third day we will live in His sight.

Hoshea 6:1 Come and let us turn back to יהוה. For He has torn but He does heal us, He has stricken but He binds us up.

Hoshea 6:2 After two days He shall revive us, on the third day He shall raise us up, so that we live before Him.

The revival of lost sheep of Yasharal came after 2 days from Mashiyach...in the 6000th year where the parables Yahusha speaks of the last shall be first. And the last hour when he would call the laborers in His vineyard. And the third year is the 7000th year when we will live before Him. i.e. The moment we cross 6000 we enter the Shabbath.

The number 12 is number for his elect i.e., the 12 tribes.

Number 100 as Yahusha said he would leave the 99 sheep and go after the one gone astray.

The last 1000 years which is the 7000th year is of eternal rest in Mashyach which Adam 930 years fell short of and so did his race fell short of.

Yahusha came in the likeness of sinful flesh but without sin as His body was not from adamah/ground where Adam was driven out to.

Gen 3:23  so יהוה Elohim sent him out of the garden of Ěḏen to till the ground/adamah H127 from which he was taken.

Below is the list of genealogy accounting to 4000 years from Adam to Mashiyach:

Masha's/Moses 120 years:

Deut 34:4  And יהוה said to him, “This is the land of which I swore to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Yaʽaqoḇ, saying, ‘To your seed I give it.’ I have let you look at it with your eyes, but you do not pass over there.”

5 And Mosheh the servant of יהוה died there in the land of Mo’aḇ, according to the mouth of יהוה. Yahuah

6 And He buried him in a valley in the land of Mo’aḇ, opposite Bĕyth Peʽor, and no one knows his burial-place to this day.

7 And Mosheh was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eyes were not dim nor his freshness gone.

Masha lived a 120 years and his eyes were not dim nor his freshness gone, yet because he didn't give the Rock the honor but struck it repeatedly ,Yahuah showed him all the promised land and said he won't cross over.

What is interesting to see that he was 120 years old when he was put to sleep.

We can see this in the light of Gen 6:3 of the 120 jubilees which is 120 x 50 = 6000 years i.e. to the end of the age and the Second coming of Mashiyach who is the Rock that followed Yasharal.

Numbers 20:8 “Take the rod and assemble the congregation, you and your brother Aharon. And you shall speak to the rock before their eyes, and it shall give its water. And you shall bring water for them out of the rock and give drink to the congregation and their livestock.”

9 And Mosheh took the rod from before יהוה as He commanded him.

10 And Mosheh and Aharon assembled the assembly before the rock. And he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels, shall we bring water for you out of this rock?”

11 Then Mosheh lifted his hand and struck the rock repeatedly/pamah H6471 with his rod. And much water came out, and the congregation and their livestock drank.

12 But יהוה spoke to Mosheh and to Aharon, “Because you did not believe Me, to set Me apart in the eyes of the children of Yisra’ĕl, therefore you do not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

13 These were the waters of Meriḇah, because the children of Yisra’ĕl contended with יהוה, and He was set apart among them.

Moses was told to speak to the Rock, but he struck the Rock repeatedly/pamah. The Hebrew word pamah is like the wheel which repeatedly rotates.

The Abary word for Rock here is Sala which means to exalt/lift up H5553 and the word sal H5536 is the root word which means basket.

It's a root word in the word Selah which is a pause to lift up Yahuah in the Psalms. Selah H5542 means to lift up and exalt.

Moses was to lift up the Rock in the eyes of Yasharal by speaking to it but instead he struck it repeatedly.

Psalms 18: 1 I love You, O יהוה, My strength.

2  יהוה is my rock/sala H5553 and my stronghold and my deliverer; My Ěl is my rock, I take refuge in Him; My shield and the horn of my deliverance, my high tower.

Psalms 31:1  In You, O יהוה, I have taken refuge; Let me never be ashamed; Deliver me in Your righteousness.

2  Incline Your ear to me, Deliver me speedily; Be a rock of refuge to me, A house of defence to save me.

3  For You are my rock/sala H5553 and my stronghold; For Your Name’s sake lead me and guide me.

Yahuah is said to be the high and lifted up Sala/Rock and striking Him repeatedly/pamah H6471 Moses couldn't cross over.

Pamah H6471 means striking once, twice, thrice...a repetition.

Moses represented the Torah as the Torah was given through him John 1:17

The rod/mattah of Moses was the same rod which later was placed in the ark of the Covenant, the rod that budded almonds.

The same rod which Daud hundreds of years later hid on the mount of Olives which grew to be an almond tree on which Yahusha was impaled.

This striking with the rod/mattah repeatedly did cause the water to gush forth from the Rock/sala as both the Rod and the Rock represented Mashiyach being humiliated from his exalted position in Torah as the fountain of life.

The same rod was lifted in Mitsrayim in exalting Yahuah through divers signs and wonders and also in the wilderness as the Rod who led them.

Now here was Moses to whom Yahuah showed all the promised land from the peak of Mount Nebo in the land of Moab, the place which was beyond the Yarden which was given to . The word Nebo H5015 means prophet. And where was he buried? In the valley of Moab.

Numbers 21:25 And Yisra’ĕl took all these cities, and Yisra’ĕl dwelt in all the cities of the Amorites – in Ḥeshbon and in all its villages,

26  for Ḥeshbon was the city of Siḥon the sovereign of the Amorites, who had fought against the former sovereign of Mo’aḇ, and had taken all his land from his hand as far as the Arnon.

This land was given to Tribe of Reuben (See a Son), Reuben who was the first born son of Yaaqob and his birthright was given to Yahusaph/Yoseph whose off shoots would climb over this wall back to his inheritance. Yoseph received a double portion and represents Yasharal in Mitsrayim the city where Mashiyach was impaled was spiritually called Mitsrayim Rev 11:8

Numbers 32: 37  And the children of Re’uḇĕn built Ḥeshbon and Elʽalĕh and Qiryathayim,

It was also given to the tribe of Gad

1Chr 6:80  And from the tribe of Gaḏ: Ramoth in Gilʽaḏ with its open lands, and Maḥanayim with its open lands, 81  and Ḥeshbon with its open lands, and Yaʽzĕr with its open lands.

Deut 34: 6  And He buried him in a valley/gay H1516 in the land of Mo’aḇ, opposite Bĕyth Peʽor, and no one knows his burial-place to this day.

This same word spelled as gay also means Gentiles

The root words gev H1460 means the back, H1465 also means the back, H1466 guah which means pride or lifted up. All same words as gay/goe H1471 which means nations/Gentiles.

How old was Moses when he died ?120 years and yet his eyes were not dim and neither was he faint which is an indication that the remnant journey through the 120 Jubilee's through the humiliation in being dispersed as nations/Gentiles who see the Promised land far off just as Moses saw and died in the valley of Moab.

Moab H4124 means 'of his father'.

Ruth was called Moabitess by geographic location as she belonged to the tribe of Reuben who by marrying an Eprathite and on his death she later married Boaz the Yahudite.

Ruth crossed over to the tribe of Yahudah, the tribe our Master sprang from.

The gay/Gentiles of their father/Moab in prophecy/naba or Nebo/prophet see the Promised land to be attained after this 120 years of Jubilee s through Torah of sin and death to the Torah of life in Mashiyach.

While Adam to Mashiyach was 4000 years were 80 jubilees, we are unable to count from Mashiyach to his return as the enemy has changed times and seasons as prophesied by Daniel.

Dan 7:25 and it speaks words against the Most High, and it wears out the set-apart ones of the Most High, and it intends to change appointed times and law, and they are given into its hand for a time and times and half a time.

The word for appointed times is the same word muaed which is for feasts. While Daniel 2 to 7 we have in Aramaic as the Hebrew books were lost, we can see this in Daniel 12 which the Hebrew manuscript is available.

Dan 12:7 And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, and he held up his right hand and his left hand to the heavens, and swore by Him who lives forever, that it would be for an appointed time, appointed times, and half a time. And when they have ended scattering the power of the set-apart people, then all these shall be completed.

Please look up the word H4150 it’s muaed which is the same word for feasts. In Daniel 7:25 it’s saying the elect are given into the enemy’s hand for muaed, muaedim and khatsay. The Shemitah (7-year cycles) is in view here with its Sabbaths, feasts, tithes, year of liberty is spoken of which come to an end with no insight of the appointment to meet the bridegroom. The word khatsay translated as dividing of time shows it’s for a time until there will be complete apostasy. The same verse when Yahuchanan sees the vision of the same man who is Yahusha, He swears that there is Time no longer.

Rev 10:5 And the messenger whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land lifted up his right hand to the heaven,
Rev 10:6 and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, (Dan 12:7) who created the heaven and what is in it, the earth and what is in it, and the sea and what is in it, that there shall be no time no longer.

This is an indication that the bridegroom is no longer within the temple/ assembly, but He is guarding the Shemitah for us as Yahuchanan saw Him in the midst of the 7 golden lamp stands. He is counting the time of appointment for us. Once we realize this, the waiting/tarrying is exciting and when we look back, it’s like while we thought that the enemy had us in bondage of not knowing the time of the appointment as everything ceased and is still continued physically, those occupied in the carnal feast observing are actually in ha shatan’s hands, while we elect are in a waiting period for the bridegroom.
